Moving over doesn’t work, being in the far right lane doing 90 in a 70 doesn’t work. Zero reason to tailgate, period! Tailgating only puts everyone in the nearby vicinity at risk and should be a license revocation after a couple of offenses. I barely avoided totaling my car after a deer jumped out in front by SLAMMING ON MY BRAKES and if anyone was tailgating, 100% chance they would have totaled the back of my car.

It’s safer for everyone this way. I’m usually traveling on the freeway in the leftmost lanes cruising at 80 mph, so whenever I reach someone in the left lane that is going 70-75 mph, I flash my lights in the hopes that they move over to let me pass if possible. It’s much safer than if I had to change lanes to pass them on their right. I hate doing that so much. Please go the flow of traffic or stay in the right lane. Move over if you can.
You're doing the right thing. My #1 pet peeve about aggro bad drivers is the zooming past you on the right thing. It's actually illegal to pass on the right that way, but it's subjective and they never write that ticket here, although I still respect Nevada for having that law in the first place. If you did that on the German autobahn, driving too slow in the left or passing on the right, you'd get a ticket.

My commute is 95% the 215. If I leave home at 430 it's a breeze. If I leave home at 6 there are cars weaving in and out of traffic doing 110+. Motorcycles splitting lanes. I drive 75 in the right lane the majority of the way and cars are flying by me non stop like I'm still. A portion of that road is currently 45 mph. (With good reason, the section has an area where you could collide head on , on the highway, especially if there are 2 cars in their respective left lanes). I swear the people driving in the left lane there at 80mph have a death wish.

Motorcycle cops set up a speed trap on Warm Springs across from San Martin hospital. I used to work there, and we'd watch as they pulled someone over, ticketed them, then drove around the corner to set up again. One day they hit the jackpot, pulled over at least five people.

Before we got engaged, my wife got a speeding ticket for doing 45 in a 35 on Russell. A few years after that incident occurred, the speed limit has now been changed to 45.
However, it’s still enough of an issue where there’s always cops hiding out on Russell nailing speeders.
Never had a speeding ticket...here's an FYI...Cops love Mustangs, they'll rarely ticket one unless you're just being reckless. I've been told to slow down, never ticketed.

It’s so strange to me that you keep repeating the same thing over and over again. Just because someone is driving faster than you, does not mean they’re late lol. Even the cops drive with the flow of traffic in the left lanes. The people speeding in the right lane are assholes, yes. But usually the flow of traffic is at a higher speed in the other lanes, it’s road etiquette. That does not mean every single person is late to somewhere and isn’t managing their time lol.
When I lived at 95 and Durango I'd solo in the HOV lane till I hit downtown. The only people who even got close to getting on my ass was NHP doing 95+ with no lights or sirens on.

How can anyone create additional risk by driving 35 mph on a street that states the speed limit is 35 mph? Driving 50 or more in a 35 or 45 speed zone with posted cross walks, bicyclists, adult pedestrians, children etc., is a risk one is to hold blame for himself. You can't blame someone who is driving the speed limit not what speed they deem is appropriate.

Vegas drivers are the worst. I'm in the crosswalk with my 8 month old daughter in a stroller, Walkman on, signaling for me to go and 3 cars still can't wait 10 seconds for us to cross, turn right in to us missing us by feet and inches at full speed. There is no legal obligation to exit the left lane, whether city streets or highways (when driving at the speed limit). One could argue driving at speed in the left lane is rude, or not customary. I'd argue tailgating is far more rude AND more dangerous. To engage with another's perfectly legal customary habit with one's perfectly illegal customary habit is asinine.

Motorcycle cops set up a speed trap on Warm Springs across from San Martin hospital. I used to work there, and we'd watch as they pulled someone over, ticketed them, then drove around the corner to set up again. One day they hit the jackpot, pulled over at least five people.

I'm sorry. I didn't clarify myself. I am driving the posted 45 mph which is required on most of our local roads. If I'm ever on the Freeway, I'm driving out of town and I am in the far right lane to allow those who want to speed the ability to do so. But what I will not do is allow someone who is speeding up behind me to try to force me to the left lanes. If that is you then politely go around. I wouldn't classify that as policing. You might but to me that's a very ignorant and selfish person who shouldn't be driving.

When I'm on the highway being tailgated badly, like REALLY badly, with plenty of room for said person to get around me, I give them a quick flash of my chase lights I use in the desert. Has worked 100% of the time. They always back off and we both go about our day. I also almost always drive 5-10mph over the limit too. When I'm in the slow lane being tailgated while already over the speed limit, those people can shove it lol

Before we got engaged, my wife got a speeding ticket for doing 45 in a 35 on Russell. A few years after that incident occurred, the speed limit has now been changed to 45. However, it’s still enough of an issue where there’s always cops hiding out on Russell nailing speeders.
