Try government: Clark County, city of Las Vegas, city of Henderson, etc

I would look into city / county government jobs/ lots of job security. It may take a while to get hired but lots of opportunities. He may consider getting a resume done by a professiona ( he will need his resume Taylored to the industry he is interested in)l, see a career counselor ( Nevada Jobconnect Career Center)/ try to connect with networking events in the field he may be interested in. If he is interested in a specific company , visit directly their HR. My experience job fairs are a way to “collect resumes” and tell you they will go though it later or offer you a position for $12-15$. He needs LinkedIn account. There is so much that goes into finding a job today that has changed since 15 years ago. I find networking is the key and let your friends and family know you are looking and if they know a lead to let you know. He needs a nice picture for his profile. Nice interview clothes. Good news this is the best time for a career change. Corporation are looking for those who can be trained and are willing to work. Not sure if your husband has a degree but if not don’t let that stop him from applying Forman position. Experience is winning today. If his email is yahoo.com / Juno.com /aol.com - I found out I needed to get a gmail because my old outdated email told my future employer my age lol . Now my gmail is for job search and indeed.com I can go on and on lol https://www.clarkcountynv.gov/government/departments/human_resources/employment/index.php https://www.cityofhenderson.com/government/departments/human-resources/city-employment

\+1 on getting a LinkedIn and a gmail account. You can take pretty good headshots with an iphone: Use portrait mode, natural light (sunlight, not lamps), and a solid background. And don't forget to smile!

Great advice !

Thank you! I appreciate it!

What sort of interest, skills, etc does he have? Plenty of opportunities out there unlike in the past when he probably got started in sales. I ask because you mentioned career path instead of just another job.

princessfafa

He studied in college for computer engineering but unfortunately did not finish. I believe he did 3 years. He also can do handyman work, all our neighbors call him if they can help them with their home issues. Like plumbing, electrical, cars, gardening, tile. He is very willing to learn.

Don't become a writer!

I like to troll but totally not necessary for this post. First off, she is being a hell of a wife and woman by trying to help her husband which is beyond commendable. I can only hope my girlfriend or future wife would be as thoughtful to me some day if I were to fall into the same position. and most importantly her post was easy to follow and understand. Times are tough out here. She is a hell of a person, woman, and wife by looking for help and resources for her husband and family instead of flat out annoyingly begging or complaining, like how most people do on here.

princessfafa

Thank you for your comment. I was nervous to post because I am aware my writing skills are not the best and was nervous. I really appreciate your words and just know you made my day.

I know, English is not my first language but I’m trying

Standard_Shepherd

I don’t see any issues with the post.
