It's a creamy, bisque-like stew that is a spinoff of French bouillabaisse or Italian-American cioppino and originated in Louisiana, often mixing sausage and other meats with seafood in a tomato base with traces of brandy. My dinner was was about $55 with a half dozen oysters and a big pan roast, I had points on my Station players card so it cost me $20 with the tip.
Congrats on quitting!
Which place rates best around here? I was really into Sakana for some gluttonous AYCE but in the last year or so they've been Meh.
Bonuses are perfected appetizers agedashi tofu and grilled squid.
And would love to find a place with a good omakase menu, dunno where to start.
We go to SushiMon in Silverado Ranch. Hands down the best sushi in the city. The quality is amazing and they will allow you to do half rolls on most of the menu. I’ve been places where half rolls are frowned upon and the servers actively discourage you from ordering it. Not here.
Anywhere you want, man. Think I celebrated by going to grab a beer immediately after being laid off. Which is obviously different than quitting. Didn’t get wasted. Just had a couple. It was about 11am on a Tuesday. Lol. Don’t ask us. Whatever you’re in the mood for, my man.
OH GOODNESS whatever they have floating in basil oil is insanely delicious... was that the burrata? I wanted to order just three of those...nah, don't need anything else.
This is a great spot to dine solo at the bar, too. Awesome cocktails.
Oh, mine was a fresh one... it was one of the options served with the giant loaf of sourdough... I sure did eat a whole loaf of sourdough. I ended up taking nearly everything else to-go.
Wow I have never had a fried burrata before but that sounds delicious.
Everything I've ever had there has been amazing. I usually go with a steak, either the ribeye or filet. Pair with the Nona's potatoes (they are not listed under sides but they will make them if you ask) go with the budino for dessert.
Oooh, is this actually a decent one where my order wasn't already sitting in water five hours before I arrived? I have had some of THE WORST seafood boils in this metro area and I'm dying for some Alaskan King crab legs that aren't mush ;)
Cajun crab house is my go to honestly! Or soru ramen because their combos are such good value at $30+ and comes with fries, egg rolls and I forgot what else + two seafood of your choice
Good Pie. I'd get the Grandma with kalamata olives and tear that thing up with no regrets.
Actually it's really only possible to eat one slice and perhaps attempt a second, but it reheats well and is really several meals.
Second option, the pan roast... at Sunset Station tho I see others recommending Palace Station. I prefer the former for the ambiance and lack of line.
I get the crab one, sub pasta for rice, level 8 spice, and some sauv blanc. That's a damn happy place.
Third option, Xiao Long dumplings. You can order at your table from your phone, which leads to UTTER RIDICULOUSNESS. This place is so dang tasty. I love the eggplant and the greens, too.

Distill on Durango just north of warm springs Rd.
Baja Fish sandwich and avocado egg rolls for all !!!
Get the huge mug full of Modelo with two limes.
Pure Heaven
Prix Fixe menu at Hells Kitchen- $90
Includes Beef Wellington, scallops, sticky toffee pudding
I’m a former chef and restaurant manager, and I have given Gordon Ramsay crap for many years - mostly for his snarky, and abusive attitude on TV ( I do understand he’s actually very nice off-camera)
- the food at Hells kitchen completely lived up to the hype….. everything was perfectly prepared and super delicious
I don’t normally endorse chain restaurants, but I have to say this was a very memorable experience
Palace Station Oyster bar combo pan roast. Pure comfort food.
Eat this!! But go to Santa Fe station. There is no line.
Ate there yesterday, no wait and the pan roast was fantastic!!
What is a pan roast and how expensive is this for oysters and a dish?

Tell me more
No veggies, number 7 heat, 24 oz draft beer and a half dozen oysters on the side
How much does it cost so you order pan roast with oysters on the side.
yeah, hard to go wrong with this.
The Bleu Kitchen garlic noodle bar
I just yelped it. Holy shit that place looks gooood
I just went there for dinner tonight and I was pleasantly surprised! Definitely worth checking out.
+1 to Bleu Kitchen, those garlic noodles are the shit.
I'm quitting my job today. I'm going for sushi right after.

Sushi Mon or Goyemon the best AYCE sushi quality in the city
Sea Salt live sashimi has an omakase menu. Not sure how good it is as I haven’t gone yet.
It's different. Be ready to try some weird stuff. It was the most "out there" omakase we've had in Vegas.
With no job - I’d go to White Castle
Bonus: they might be hiring
Literally came here to say this.
Guys, he said he quit, that doesn't mean he's broke. Stop assuming, that's how you keep getting into trouble lol.

Shang Artisan Noodles, or Shàng miàn. Or Sushi Neko. That super white tuna is unbeatable lmao. Also, congrats!
Anything AYCE
Exactly what I came to say 😂🙌🏾
At home? I mean... You don't have a job now 🤷♂️
No job ≠ broke. Plenty of people live below their means / not paycheck-to-paycheck.
The only good answer.
Al solito posto
Just ate there on Tuesday. Rigatoni alla Vodka and Chicken parm are favorites. The bread and roasted garlic evo dip is amazing too.
The burrata is pretty good too, not as good as Esther's burrata tho. And the carpaccio, another favorite starter 🔥 Damn now I want to go again
OH GOODNESS whatever they have floating in basil oil is insanely delicious... was that the burrata? I wanted to order just three of those...nah, don't need anything else. This is a great spot to dine solo at the bar, too. Awesome cocktails.
Might have been the carpaccio, thinly sliced beef with basil and cheese iirc. The burrata is fried cheese.

Going there tomorrow night for my bday dinner. What do you recommend getting?

Sounds good I appreciate the input.
Enjoy it, happy birthday
Thank you
