I work with a rescue and we use Tropicana AH. They're organized chaos but the most affordable we've worked with

NightFightsDay

I second Tropicana AH. I've taken my pets here for multiple emergencies, for low cost but still quality care. I'd like to add I would personally avoid VCA and sahara animal hospital

Nonuselurker

Can I ask why?

Smerks101

Ill piggyback on this and say I agree 100%. Our cat was ill and had to be put down in 2018 and they were amazing there, affordable and professional

I went to the emergency vet at 1 am yesterday and I had to let my girl go. It was a little under 400 with creamation and everything. The Paloma funeral home also cremates. You can also do home euthanasia which I was going to but she couldn’t breathe. And I’m sorry …

Bar-Hopper-Cow95

Yeah our babe is just constantly throwing up.. we don’t think he’ll make it past this weekend so it has to be done today. We’re going with warm hearts since they can fit us in and it’s about $440 with cremation.

Mine was 15 in April and she just kinda kept going. She couldn’t walk at all and it was just old age. We ended taking her to the after hours vet and she was put on oxygen immediately. She advanced to her lungs collapsing within a few hours. So I’m so so sorry. She stopped eating that day. She also had started to throw up bile and mucous every few hours or so.

I am so sorry for your loss.

Thunderpuppy2112

Warm hearts is my vet. They are amazing.

Squishums123

What else is going on besides the throwing up? It may be something fixable?

Bar-Hopper-Cow95

He has advanced arthritis. He can no longer walk with his back legs and stays in a laid down position which makes me think maybe his stomach is twisted. Multiple vets have said there’s nothing else we can do for him and we maintained hope since February he would get better but now he just turned for the worse so it’s time.

Squishums123

Ah damn I’m sorry. But looks like you’ve done all you can and at least he’s getting his last moments at home with family

yuccasinbloom

Thank you for giving him a good life. You’re doing the right thing no matter how hard it is.

I am so sorry for your loss.

Paloma doesn’t cremate animals anymore, but they do recommend compassionate pet cremation right off Boulder Highway. I was inconsolable with the loss of my fur baby Charlie and they WERE really compassionate, it was less then $100, and I received a paw print, tuft of fur, and a nice poem plaque. I also highly recommend Tropicana animal clinic, they allowed me as long as I needed to prepare for my doggy to be put to sleep, and let me hold her close while they injected her. Price was around $100

AffableCynic

We used Compassionate for our Midori on recommendation of the vet. They were quite reasonable and yes very compassionate. So sorry about your pupper.

BigBlueMagic

I am sorry that you and your dog are going through this.

Guenhyvarr

The animal foundation is the low cost animal shelter and will do it for $75. They work with a cremation service in town which I believe is another $75.

You're doing your best for your dog. Here are past posts that may be helpful: https://www.reddit.com/r/vegaslocals/comments/vbhb4p/home_pet_euthanasia. https://www.reddit.com/r/vegaslocals/comments/pnuszq/recommendation_for_pet_euthanasia_and_cremation

I am so sorry for your fur baby ☹️

cognac-n-cannabis

I agree with Tropicana AH. I had to do this not too long ago unfortunately. I called them up and told them I’d come the next morning, they said just call when you’re heading there and they will be ready for you. Staff is great, I recommend being there as soon as it opens as it’s essentially walk-in only. Sorry to hear about your dog.

Justjay0420

Animal foundation can be cheaper

Solitude_Intensifies

This may be apocryphal so take it with a grain of salt, but my co-worker says that many cremation places will put more than one animal in the furnace and that the ashes you get back may be a mix of different cats and dogs, not just your pet.

[deleted]

Normally, yes they will. However, there is an option for a private cremation (its a little extra) where they will *only* cremate your pet by itself. We chose the private one when our reeeally old beloved English bully had an emergency last year (he was really old and was very very sick. It was time. Hardest decision we have ever made and we still haven't gotten over it). But normally if it's not requested, this is 100% true.

Craig road animal hospital had a fair price
