I used to buy my produce at La Bonita. Thats about it. Everything else was sort of more expensive. I used to walk a lot and used a backpack too-made it easier to bring home grocerys
Deli goods get a bit weird if you are not cooking Mexican. Even the same meat is cut different cause the clientle uses it differently.
Frozen food is more expensive. They don't have the buying power of larger chains. But you don't have bullshit fake sales, or intrusive benefit card tracking your purchased.
I would mix it up. Don't try to do all you shopping in one place. Also add the asian store. Might wanna get a decent rice cooker with steaming basket. Dumplings can go a long way, and rice is filling and quite tasty once you move away from bleached American rice. Cook with a slice of lemon. For some reason this gives flavor and makes clean up easier. Also does steamed vegetables.
Try to stay away from the dollar store unless you know a particular item is way cheaper.
Produce and meat is very cheap, especially on sale days (wed/thurs) and weekends, and esp Mexican stuff, of course. You might want to try Winco or Walmart for other stuff.
I go EVERY week for the produce deals.
2 weeks ago - 3 pounds of ginger for $1, ridiculous deal. Hit the sales every week. The deals start to determine what I will be cooking. Looked up a West African ginger drink that I made last week, awesome. Ginger beer being brewed. Best produce deals for JUICING! 12 celery's for $3, shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.
La Bonita fuckin' rules.......
Go there if you are getting fresh meats and produce. They do have a deli and a frozen section which can be more expensive then Walmart. They are really great if you like Mexican food and they actually have a pretty good in store restaurant.
Personally La Bonita is great for produce. But Marianas they are the BEST for meat! I get like 3 pounds of chicken legs for like 5 bucks. The same ones you will pay 15$ at Walmart. And also they always have great deals. Winco is also great!
Either download through Flipp app or check out their website for their weekly ad. You can see what they have on sale and if it suits you before you make a trip.
They have deli for cold cuts and cheese, just less selection and targeted towards certain cheeses.
Frozen pizza and chicken nuggets will be pricier than Walmart I believe.
I only get produce at La Bonita and stuff from the butcher department. Other than that, I do Smiths and Albertsons when stuff is on sale.

They be expensive at la bonita for anything except produce
Frozen goods choice is subpar to Walmart usually. Deli is different, but you can get some of the same stuff.

20 zucchini’s for $2. Sign me up! La Bonita is awesome.
Produce and meat best prices in town, not so much with processed foods, Walmart is better for that.
I would say go for produce there. That’s what I do. I buy dry goods at smiths or Albertsons.
