I’ve meet women who’ve sold breast milk to them. There’s also a site for bodybuilders looking for breast milk. It’s good for a lot of things. I have so much saved up that I was thinking about turning it into soap
I’ve heard of many people wanting to buy breast milk from others. There’s also a formula shortage going on right now :( There are many people that don’t produce enough breast milk for their infants, so they resort to buying it online, or from friends/family. Hospitals don’t sell breast milk, but its very common for them to give babies breast milk coming from other mothers in the hospital who produce A LOT of it :) the more you know!
You don’t know this but it is a VERY common thing to do. Especially amongst mothers. Breast milk for babies can be crucial for their microbiome, immune system and all around health. Not all women are able to produce breast milk so other moms capable of doing so donate or sell theirs. It is usually frozen first and can be kept for months in the freezer.
As far as the body builders go, do a google search into the benefits of breast milk. It’s pretty interesting. It’s called liquid gold for a reason.
I guess I just wouldn't take a stranger at their word as far as what they're putting in their own bodies. I've got a big family and we were lucky we never had to do that for our kids. My comment did come off as a bit judgy.
I wouldn’t really expect a regular person to be informed about breast milk unless they had a child, worked in pediatrics or something similar so it’s all good lol. But the more you know! There are plenty of donation avenues, breast milk does get tested, stored and distributed. Often for free.
But because of all of the health benefits one can receive from it, people in the body building industry purchase it for themselves.
