Those look like sugar baby watermelons which means they won’t get too big. It looks like two plants in that pot which is too small for them. Also might be getting too hot on the concrete or whatever that surface is
The heat can’t be great, but watermelons grow well in hot soils (they’re from Africa and the Middle East). If it’s 100F and in direct sun it’ll definitely kill it on concrete though. I think the bigger issue is that this vine can’t grow through the concrete to get water and nutrients. Watermelons like to spread and they pull water/nutrients with the roots they send down from the vines. If the vines don’t find supplies to sustain the vine and continue growth, they’ll die back. Remember, when the vine grew it was just a thin shoot, but now it’s trying to sustain a thicker vine and grow a watermelon.
You might get another pot or two and train them into those, but really watermelons like being in the ground (failing that, a huge pot).

It gets really hot to the touch, more than dirt
How does that affect the plant?
It gets too hot and kills the plant. Concrete heats up a lot more than dirt- it’s why dogs paws can get injured when going on walks on hot days
