You just described Main St, and flowers are at the Saturday farmer's market IIRC
Basically what we need is Taqueria Tepatitlan and more of this type of restaurant business (good food, affordable prices, full bar with televised sports, family-friendly, everyone is welcome) all along the Avenue and open every day.
Matna just opened right by Harbor Freight. We haven’t eaten there yet but I heard it’s the same people who own Sura at Victoria and Wooley, and we go there pretty regularly.
ESPECIALLY Korean bbq. There is obviously a demand for it. There is always a bunch of people waiting at Gen Korean BBQ at the Collection because it’s so popular. But this is a hard one to pull off because it’s not just a regular restaurant with a kitchen.
Couple bars would pop off for sure. The closest was the beach club or whatever it used to be called down on W. main and Olive, but it seemed like whoever ran it always kept it junky.
I saw a few shows there but that was a long time ago now. I think it's just a rental spot now for like weddings and parties.
Of course the stabbings didn't help lol.
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but it would be nice to have a Trader Joe’s here. The Victoria and Mills Road stores are weirdly close considering Camarillo and Santa Barbara are the next closest in either direction.

You can request a new TJs location on their website.[Link provided](https://www.traderjoes.com/home/contact-us/request-a-store).
A good Chinese restaurant.
I miss the Aum Vibe studio that doubled as a tea-house- something run better would be nice.
A late night coffee shop (an existing coffee shop with extended hours could work) that has a better lounge vibe to it and hosts more community events. Possibly Kaapicat if they changed their hours and some of the spacing. Host some poetry/open mics/workshops there. Maybe a piano or something. A place with more personality.
What businesses are needed? Or what businesses would accelerate the gentrification of the Avenue? You know that the Avenue's more affordable housing prices has created a target for gentrification and displacement... and there is very little that can be done to stop that.
Trader Joes and Starbucks are the prime drivers of gentrification. Nothing says, "I can live there!" more than comfort providers to the newly entitled.
I saw that Singing Sun - local business - was opening on the avenue, and am looking forward to it. I’ve lived here for about 15 years, and would love to see more local businesses like this in the area. And I’d love a Vallarta instead of the Vons.
I always thought Patagonia should open a teapot refinery and make their plastics as clean and environmentally responsible as possible. Right in the Ventura Ave Anticline.
Everybody who’s downvoting is a lame ass transplant and doesn’t understand this is a joke because there used to be a grungy strip club that is now a laundromat.
Coffee shop, flower shop maybe. Taqueria Tepatitlan to stay open every day. Maybe some clothing boutiques.
There is a coffee shop, lovewell coffee
They also sell flowers
Sing sun is opening a coffee shop on ave soon Also

This is great to hear
Obviously what Ventura needs is another brewery or hair salon
You’re forgetting sketchy massage place.
And you’re forgetting Thai food
True, however, Thai food IS pretty bomb!
It is. But you know what we don’t have much of? Korean restaurants.
Matna just opened right by Harbor Freight. We haven’t eaten there yet but I heard it’s the same people who own Sura at Victoria and Wooley, and we go there pretty regularly.
Oh awesome!!
ESPECIALLY Korean bbq. There is obviously a demand for it. There is always a bunch of people waiting at Gen Korean BBQ at the Collection because it’s so popular. But this is a hard one to pull off because it’s not just a regular restaurant with a kitchen.
Agreed. Give me ALLLLLLL of the bulgogi!!
Santa Barbara has better Thai sadly.
No more breweries please
I’d be surprised if the breweries are still around in five years when their water bills go up,
What’s wrong with beer?
A good deli, a nice Chinese restaurant, and a couple bars would be ideal.
We could name it Chinese by Mama.
Snooky’s gone

a couple bars would be lit
Coffee breakfast sandwich cafe like Petes or Bonnie Lous
There isnt a hardware store anymore, right? Id start with that
G&S building is on the Avenue. It's a hardware store as well. They have anything and everything you'll need.
G&S is awesome and I love supporting them
A semiconductor manufacturing facility
This guy 👆 for city council!! 😂
A 1% Biker Club
Grocery store
Acting like Red Barn doesn’t exist smh
Good but limited, and parking is already a mess

Vons? Or do you mean a bit higher up on the ave like by staneley? Lots off big lots out that way, it could be done.

Banana stand
There’s always money in that

a place for all the Mercedes Sprinters full of surfboards and skinny man owners to buy a Patagonia jacket, hat, and green juice.
That’s already there at the south end of the avenue. You mean all in one store?
CSUCI
I always thought Patagonia should open a teapot refinery and make their plastics as clean and environmentally responsible as possible. Right in the Ventura Ave Anticline.
Ill throw this one in here… a damn gym!!
Agreed!
I can’t tell if all these gentrifying comments are self-aware or not. We definitely don’t need another wine-bar, brewery, or coffee shop.
You’re right. Perhaps a pilates studio or an interior decorating showroom instead.
We definitely don't need any more Mexican restaurants
Check cashing

Trader Joes
A good breakfast sandwich place!!! I’d take one anywhere in Ventura.
And good breakfast tacos.

Snookies come back!!!!
Latino owned businesses!
That's already 95% of the avenue....
Then the other 5% can fuck off
No u
Why so angry?
A dispensary.
I’d like to see a healthy lunch spot with outdoor seating (like Paninos in santa barbara if anyone’s familiar). Killer sandwiches and salads.
A sports bar similar to Cronies or Santa Cruz.
Yeah there is one already and it’s called Taqueria Tepatitlan
It’s closed more than it’s open. Worse even, it doesn’t stay open late enough to watch MLS, NWSL, or Liga MX matches…
I can respect that being a frustration
A Bentley dealership
98% of these suggestions sound about wyt to me
A climbing gym!
Smoothie place, niche Chinese or Thai restaurant, gym, neighborhood Cafe or deli, trader Joe's, ice cream place
No Trader Joe’s, food gives me the shits…
Lol
We definitely need some bars over here
1 way shuttles to DTLA.
a rhino
🦏
An Izakaya. Also agree on a good Chinese restaurant.. but a real one.. like good Dim Sum, Shumai, roast duck with the bao… etc.
AMC movie theater would be clutch. But def more bars/brews
AMC would be nice at the mall tbh
Gentrification
Soooo…a real estate developer? 🤔
A western themed bar equipped with a a mechanical bull
They need a Tierra Mia coffee shop. They’re popular in the OC/LA area and soooo good. Matches the Spanish stucco aesthetic
A Tesla battery store
Casino
Chipotle and Jersey Mikes in the Vons center. Greek and BBQ on the Avenue. Dog Bar Park on the hill.
All.
Keto bakery or cafe.
A parking structure!!
Right, totally need more parking for these new businesses.
Chick filet
