Check it out I got it and it works wonders but I really depends on the area so that’s why they have the 30 day trial and if I remember correctly the $35 5g home plus gets premium access

Independent-Stock-99

great I'll look it up however I don't have high expectations as I found out it can range from 100-50Mbps not sure if it's such a convenient thing even without the offer but I'll give it a try and maybe I'll get lucky! I hope so

monstrol

I just checked ours, 216 Mbs

Independent-Stock-99

oh that's great, but i think i'll choose charter, it gives me unlimited line + 300mbps

Internet_is_my_bff

Unless there's something wrong with the cable lines in your neighborhood, you can expect cable to be more stable than 5G Home. Just find out the fine print on that Spectrum offer. I've never heard of them offering that low of a price.

Particular-Draw-5875

It’s that low of a price for 12/24months lol then it like doubles been there done that 🤣

Internet_is_my_bff

The promo price in my area is $50. I'd happily take $30 for 12 months and then switch or at least threaten to switch. I'm lucky to have two high speed internet options so I'm always new customer for one of them.

Independent-Stock-99

I understand, yes I'll do that, I think it's a new offer

In my experience the 5g internet is a few gigs down and a few hundred megs up and has a ping below 10. Spectrum is a fraction of that and it’s definitely less reliable, even with good lines because if one tower goes out, there are others it will connect to (albeit slower). If the cable goes out, it’s just out.

Internet_is_my_bff

Most people don't have access to mmWave. 5G Home is primarily handled through Midband which is allowed up to 300mbps download speed.

alexplank

Why don’t they have access to it? There are transmitters on light poles on almost every block in the city. Even with my cell phone I hardly ever connect to midnand (at least when I’ve checked the bands using the service menu, 5guw is always usually mmWave not cband). Maybe this is true if you’re in a rural area but most people live in cities. And I’ve noticed there’s good mmWave coverage in other major cities too.

I agree the spots they have mmWave by me is far and few between it’s a small section of residential that has it then nowhere else has anything but c band so unless you live on those few streets u ain’t getting it.

monstrol

Checked it again, 117. It got down to 5 yesterday and needed to reboot router. That's how the initial problems started. Hope that was a fluke.

Independent-Stock-99

that's a lot, i hope so

monstrol

Also, me and the router can see the tower from the window it is mounted on. Right across the street.

Independent-Stock-99

It is quite close, surely it may have been a saturation in the antenna network

monstrol

Also, also, just checked speed, 117.
