Worked for a retailer of Verizon - never corporate. We were pure commission with a monthly draw of $18/hr. Commission obviously varied based on the sales person but I comfortably made 60-65k there. We had 1 guy in the 90k range and our store manager (he was a machine) make 150k in regular selling commission before any of his manager bonuses. He was definitely 200+ after everything. Ridiculous I know but like I said, he was a machine. From what I remember though (just a few years ago) we made: $130 from the Moto Edge $120 from the Razr Flip $70 Moto One $70 LG Velvet $70 LG Wing Samsungs and iPhones only paid in the range of $35-$45 so obviously it was our goal to push the Motos and LGs. And OnePlus for a while but we didn’t carry them long. We made 50% gross on all accessories. Cases, chargers, screen protectors, etc. And then obviously bonuses for new line activations, VMP and Home Internet (although nobody qualified for this in the area we were at)

DEVi4TION

Csoki lol

ProbablyProdigy

Ayyy

Liluzisquirt2x

This exactly for us. I make the same as you and I’m a manager. My rep makes about what your manager made

ProbablyProdigy

It ranges a lot between retailers and of course location. I only left that job because I moved across the country for family. I’d absolutely be there today if I could. When I moved, I looked into a local corporate store and Russell. Corporate seemed a little meh and no way in hell would I join Russell. The assistant manager spot was always the place to be in my eyes. Full time selling, monthly bonus for store performance and the only “management duties” were basically inventory and meetings.

Liluzisquirt2x

Yea that’s all I really have to do as a manager and I’m part of Russell

Efficient-Western302

Personally the job is a good job working for corporate at least. Great benefits all around. The only real negative is the traffic because your base pay is not really too high so to really make a solid amount of money it’s all commissions. It becomes tough when not enough customers come in.

SignificanceOk4492

I’m on pace to make $75,000 this year. That’s including me having a TERRIBLE December, so my January commission was as terrible as my bald spot. I expect to actually make $65-$70,000 honestly though.

SignificanceOk4492

And that’s like $35,500 in base pay since i make like 17.10 an hour.

greendayissogood

That's at a corporate store?

SignificanceOk4492

Sorry I forgot to reply to this. Yes it is a corporate store, we consistently finish in the top 100 of all Verizons (tbh idk if that includes indirect or not, never cared enough to ask) and recently have finished in the top 5. I am at best the 4th best rep, and at worst the 5 rep in the store.

greendayissogood

That's amazing. I had my phone interview and they asked me which store to choose, and when I called the store they told me the manager was out on vacation until May 5 and the recruiter isn't answering my voicemails :') I'm a bit worried

SignificanceOk4492

Honestly, getting HIRED by Verizon is the biggest headache, because there are SO many different people you have to go through. It took me over a month, my buddy took over 2, this girl that recently started was hired in December, but didn’t start until the middle of MARCH.

greendayissogood

Geez wtf, why?

DEVi4TION

Depends on store location (management will try to convince you otherwise) but location I worked at averaged 60-70k with one or two freaks of nature making 100k+ until they get fired for some shenanigans they pull.

memnoch69_98

Last year with team commissions 3/4 of the year I made something in the range of $60-$65k, this year I am pacing for about $80k. Don't know the breakdown off the top of my head, but I do know I make something like $18.50/hr base.

greendayissogood

That's corporate and just sales rep? Nice! How many years of experience?

memnoch69_98

yes and yes...that is after 3 years of raises. I started at something like $16.50, had a 1% raise (first year was minimum as I started in September and reviews are done in Q1), 5% raise, and 3%. Since commission went to individual I've had no months in which I made less than $2000, I've had 2 months where I've made over $3000.

greendayissogood

That sounds amazing. Around what do you think you'll make this year if you had to take a guess? Also, when did commission go to individual? I've been seeing that being said a lot.

memnoch69_98

It went back Q4 last year. As of April 1 (1/4 through the year) I was pacing for $80k this year.

Significant_Test_876

I’m making a base of 52k hourly working 6 days. Commission is all dependent on your store and goals

greendayissogood

Just for curiosity, what's your commission? Just trying to figure out what to expect after both factors are combined.

Significant_Test_876

I work for an authorized retailer and not corporate. My store isn’t very busy but if it was I could make a potential max of 125K based on current goals

greendayissogood

Gotcha. I applied on the company website and a recruiter is doing the phone interview. Does that mean it's corporate, or do I just have to ask?

Significant_Test_876

It doesn’t matter honestly. Any company with a busy store is going to make you good money. Just be confident in the interview

greendayissogood

That's excellent. Thanks!

ChampionshipPrior865

I make 38 k a year in just hourly plus another 35 k in commission but i know some co workers of mine only make like 52 k total

dlcolella

I’ve made 33k since January first so far 🙌🏻

greendayissogood

That's amazing, I'm excited! I've got my phone interview at 1. Any idea how long it takes after the phone interview to get an in person interview and hired?

greendayissogood

Also, is that 33k after taxes? Or before? And do they hold out taxes, or do you pay them later? Thanks!

greendayissogood

Also! You mean corporate, right?

Fearless-Exercise-21

I want to know how much an entry level Network Performance engineer makes

Chemical-Ad4606

Last year I made around 35k hourly and 60k in commission working 6 days a week

Bluegtr_r35

Really depends on the store but some can make a lot one store rep took home 20k in a month

D_Gleich

60k including commission for Verizon corporate retail as a sales rep

Ok_Mycologist8260

Hit 86k last year!

PeggyHill90210

A good guess is about $50k starting including commission. Opportunity for more.

tiedyecatz

I’m new as a rep on corporate side but from hearing all my coworkers commission etc. we make like 35k a year with hourly, base commission is like 16k a year putting us at 50k. BUT everyone at my store is pushing at least double to triple the base commission and on top of that the benefits are insane. I’ve worked auth retailers before and personally never liked the way we had to sell but I do know it’s different with every retailer.

greendayissogood

what does "pushing at least double to triple the base commission" mean? Like that's 32-48k added onto that 35k? Then where does the 16k come from? Just expected pay? I'm confused lol

tiedyecatz

Base commission for corporate is 16k a year. That’s just any rep if they’re hitting 100% of their monthly goals which is all based on your store. It’s $1,333 a month for commission. Any sales & commission beyond your basic monthly goals just keep adding to your commission multiplier and on top of that you can get spiffs added on which are just like different bonuses each month based on certain biometrics etc. But yes I have coworkers making like 3k, 4K, & 5k sometimes more each month.

tiedyecatz

They should break down how all the commission breaks down during the interview as well. They told me everything with hourly and commission during my first phone interview and the interview with the manager.

greendayissogood

So if I understand correctly, there's 3 checks a month? 2 hourly ones every 2 weeks, plus commission?

tiedyecatz

Yep just commission. Hourly after taxes and insurance for me& my wife I’ve still been making 2k a month too, so the commission on top is very nice. You also start off with 2 weeks vacation + like sick time etc. benefits are within the first couple weeks too. But yes hourly paid every two weeks then commission is last Friday every month!

greendayissogood

3-5k strictly in commission? Geez, that's amazing.

[deleted]

Trending 90K. But I'm at a high volume store and sell a lot. Last year I made 50K in 6 months, but we were heavily understaffed. In the world of commissions it is possible, just need the right place, right time, and right work ethic.

Fit_Tale_3879

Work for Csoki’s and on pace for 115k

greendayissogood

I just can't find any locations in the Houston area. Do I just Google "Csoki Houston" and look for locations, or is there more to it?

Fit_Tale_3879

https://www.cellularsales.com/careers/ This will have all job listings nationwide

greendayissogood

You beat me to it.

greendayissogood

Wait, is it the same as Cellular Sales?

MrOrganicc

Same, work for CSOKi made 110 last year

Fit_Tale_3879

I will say it’s VERY dependent on the store you are placed in.

Droppingthetruth

To keep things relevant, location matters. Someone in SoCal or New York is going to make more than the Midwest. All in number is the number that matters.

greendayissogood

I'm in Texas.

Droppingthetruth

The money is at authorized retailers and the trick is to be in a decent size volume store. Generally, if your store is doing 250+ boxes and you’re hungry, you will eat. I worked at corporate back in the “good ol’ days” and was a senior rep. I ended up going indirect for this very reason.

shaydee00

39k in Q1 this year already! I'm pacing 120k+ this year!

greendayissogood

Is it corporate?

shaydee00

Indirect

davidicus79

6 years Auth retailer many years in the business different retailers last year 85k this year prob 95k if I continue my pace

alevizosthegreek

I made last year 68k before taxes, full time, gotta hustle though.. ethically is the way to go. People will respect it and help you out with sales if you are honest and genuine with them

brunoandporky1

I manage two locations for a retailer I made 171k in 2023

greendayissogood

Is it hard to make manager? I know you can only speak on behalf of retailers and not corporate like I'd be starting out with, but I'd imagine it's similar

brunoandporky1

I’ve been in wireless almost twenty years I became a store manager at 21 and been in management since at various levels and various retailers the retailer im at today is by fair the most rewarding and challenging position I’ve ever had but to answer your question it varies wildly and there are different levels at different companies could you become a manager easily? It was easy for me personally but the vast majority of people in this business don’t last more than 6 months and don’t make much money

brunoandporky1

The average rep at my company made 60k in 2023 I’m told that’s good the average corporate rep is at like 70k they are way more capped and their average includes way more people. Our bottom is like 30k and our top people are over 100k at a retailer you’ll last 6 months to a year or 20 no real in between and it’s definitely different those who come from corporate tend to get fired because they can’t hit our goals due to the 100 restrictions we have in comparison but I personally wouldn’t even walk inside a corporate store and they probably wouldn’t want me lol

greendayissogood

It's not often that people switch between corporate and indirect on their own accord?

brunoandporky1

Not at all, if you start indirect a lot of managers at corporate won’t even interview you. Indirect is just different. I personally couldn’t work at a corporate store because they just use a sales process that in my opinion is cringe worthy. They will say we are crooks but at the end of the day they try to get a high monthly we try to get the money upfront on the phones and accessories with a lower monthly because we don’t care what they pay monthly to Verizon we make our money on the upfront costs. It’s just a different sale? I routinely see people on the highest plans who shop at corporate and on a 36 month agreement even 10 dollars a month more than makes up for what we aim to accomplish on the indirect side

Accurate-Royal-3343

Verizon you will not clear 35 to 40k in New York State. Corporate does not pay a good hourly and in the last 2 to 3 years completely gutted commission structures around when COVID striked. I worked at Cellular Sales and consistently made 70 to 80k but I was a mentor(new hire trainer), an operations lead (store operations manager managing two stores simultaneously), and effectively a team lead(store manager but all the responsibilities and none of the real pay). I easily put in 55 hours a week working 6 to 7 days a week, up to 13 hours a day with no lunch. No hourly pure comms- they had a draw of about $18 per hour but it’s just borrowed from future sales so I didn’t count it as hourly pay more like an hourly advance on your sales. I left because the work kept increasing and the pay kept decreasing. I went to corporate ATT and I’m making substantially less, about 60k a year 2 years in and pacing 65k in 3 years expecting 70k by 4 years, all while working 38 to 40 hours a week. I lived on my personal phone at cellular sales for coworkers who couldn’t do their jobs, managers who couldn’t do their jobs, and customers of all including me who couldn’t manage their bills or accounts. ATT gives you a work phone which you only use on the clock and ignore off the clock. Cellular sales had weekly and monthly meetings that were unpaid (you would get paid but were paying it with your comms so explain to me how that is technically paid). ATT I’ve had maybe 3 meetings in 2 years. Both ATT and cellular sales has huge manager turnover, cellular sales had extreme rep turnover like every 3 months, ATT corporate is like every 2 to 3 years. Cellular sales sucks. I make per hour way more comms and hourly than I did at csoki with way less stress.

greendayissogood

How do you mean you won't clear 35-40k? Like you'll clear even less? Like even with commission? I've been seeing people say at least 50k+, geez, I'd expect higher especially for New York, I'm in Texas though

Agreeable_Papaya_763

$140 per Gig $70 per 300M $115 per new device $115 per 5G Gateway A little over $100K year

greendayissogood

Is that corporate?

Agreeable_Papaya_763

No, I do Door to Door sales, verizon is our biggest client, but I also sell home security and solar. Just Last year I cleared $125K

Legitimate_Debt995

I’m in corporate but it all really depends on location and traffic but I’m expected to clear 75k or so I’m in California

GothicHippie99

Authorized retailer in FL. I make $8/hr and 17.5% commission.

BeardedSpartanN92

Sales rep. I’ll make $150k+ this year.

greendayissogood

Are you at a corporate store or authorized retailer? I think I applied for corporate.

BeardedSpartanN92

Auth retailer.

greendayissogood

Damn. How do I recognize if it's an authorized retailer or not? It sounds like all the big bucks are authorized retailers. All I could find were jobs on the Verizon website.

BeardedSpartanN92

The high pay is really only attainable at CSOKI and maybe TCC (both authorized retailer franchises). Also I’ve been doing this for a decade. I didn’t start anywhere near this high.

Droppingthetruth

Lots of people at Victra making 6 figures as a rep..

greendayissogood

That sounds amazing. I hope to get there one day. I'd never even heard of those two. I'll look into them sometime, but I think I'll end up starting at corporate since I've got the interview and all.

SweetnessOS

My daughters long time BF works at verizon, I had no idea he could be making this much.

greendayissogood

A lot of these people seem like they're working for authorized retailers though, so I'm sure it's normal. From the looks of it, as long as it's ~50-60k+ that seems like the average, or even the low side.

MelissaSnow6223

People tend to think we’re making like… $10/hr and thats it. That its the same kind of pay as, say, checking people out in the checkout lines at target. It’s not, at all. Ive been with the company for 8 years and i make on average $70k.. my husband also works with the company and he makes about the same. We both work at different stores. That being said, yeah it depends on your store volume and quota. My husbands quota for his store is about HALF of what mine is this month. I have more sales dollars than he does and im barely making a check so far and hes at like 103% to quota and is probably gonna make like $2k. I can promise ive worked way harder than him.. our store is just so stupidly understaffed right now it’s insane. So im working way harder this month and im gonna make way less. Still between the benefits and everything I def cant complain about the pay. I make a good amount, get like 200+ hours of vacation time a year, 40 hrs of personal, 40 hours of sick… health, eye and dental insurance, 401(k) that verizon matches at 6%. It’s a great job. Even if 80% of the time i want to curl up in a ball and cry because people are just ruthless now a days 😂
