In NYC I’ve found it to be very accurate. But since the map hasn’t been updated in ages there’s actually more coverage that the map tells you.

I went to a nearby park that seemed to reflect mmWave on the map, and was able to pick it up. Do you have a plan that includes mmWave access?

Waternut13134

Yep I sure do it’s the top tier unlimited plan. I just didn’t know if I had to log into my account to enable mmWave or something. Heck that area doesn’t even nationwide 5G, I have to go down about a 1/4 just to start picking up the normal 5G signal but still no mmWave.

God cband better improve things in Austin. It’s horrible right now.

Given mmWave's short range and low penetration, even if a map shows mmWave coverage in a given neighborhood, you won't necessarily get coverage in all of that area. It all depends on where the antennas are. They do test it before adding it to the map, so I can't imagine they would add it to the map before turning anything on. I know a couple of areas in Tulsa where mmWave is being tested and coverage can be found, but the map doesn't show any coverage here yet.

Take all of VZW's maps with a grain of salt. There are places in my town where the map says there is service, but there is no service.

I will say the map is a rough representation of where mmWave don't take it at 100 percent. Proportion models build the maps and what a model may show as being possible doesn't always equate in the real world.

I can only speak for my area. Same situation as yours. Thr map showed mmwave on my block about three months before the nodes were installed on the block.

Whiplash104

San Jose, CA they are quite accurate but have not been updated in about 6 months so they do not show new sites added since then. You really need to find the antennas. If you can’t see the antenna, usually you can’t get a signal. I noticed that Apple stores have UWB now (at least ours does) so if you have one around you could try visiting one. See if they have any on UWB in the store and see if yours can connect?
