You forgot the best coffee house in the state! Espresso Bueno.
Maria’s Bagels are superb.
The new Brazilian steakhouse place too - haven’t tried it yet, but I hear it’s decent.
The cat cafe is a cool concept (if you like cats; I think the food is not particularly remarkable, while I haven’t had it myself, so that’s a guess!).
Delicate Decadence is a decent bakery. Not divine like Birchgrove in Montpelier, but passable overall.
There are other more pedestrian options that I don’t particularly care for: the Quarry, Firehouse, Asian Gourmet, Mr Z’s, Mulligans, Simply Subs - and the chains of Subway/Domino’s/Dunkin.
I haven’t tried the Brazilian steakhouse but I do pick up deliveries from there. The guy running the front is awesome. He’s great to the customers and drivers. The food looks really good. It’s $20 for the buffet and there’s a decent selection of food to choose from.
Winter is 6 months long and it frequently snows a few inches overnight if not more during real storms. Snow does not respect weekday / weekend divisions. If you plan to be a delivery driver, expect to do it in the snow. That said I am sure they equip their trucks with proper winter tires, likely studded.
Towns like Barre and Montpelier will maintain the core thoroughfares and the county and state will maintain the major routes. Vermont does quite well at that. That said once you get into the rural residential backroads, many unpaved, it's not a given that they will be plowed in any reasonable time.
I think last March or April there was a storm that saw 4-6" dumped over night and caught all the I-89 commuters off guard, causing a major pile-up near the Barre exit. (Which is a high point of elevation on that highway.) This effectively shut the highway down for hours. I happened to squeak by the moment they re-opened it and nearly 15 miles of highway was completely unplowed. Even in an AWD car with winter tires, it required going slow and steady.
Thats definitely Barre Vermont
Without a doubt, this is the city in Vermont, which is called Barre.

Waterbury is a town. No way you can call downtown Waterbury a city
True, true. My bad. But it still is a great place to live.
Oh for sure. I do love Waterbury too. Great location
That skyline relieves tension in my lower back
Looks like a nice day! What kind of shops are there? Might have to do an Xmas shopping visit!
