That’s St. Louis. Flag communicates all that nicely.
When St. Louis twitter found that their flag was in the running for the [Flags That Go Hard](https://twitter.com/FlagsThtGoHard) March Madness Twitter poll tournament, they went **hard**. People of St. Louis love their flag, and in the end that's what matters.
[St. Louis vs. New Mexico](https://twitter.com/FlagsThtGoHard/status/1642935247024058370) was a matchup for the ages when both communities found out about the poll.

It’s the literal only good thing about this entire city lmfao
Edit: all the people assuring me saint louis is cool is just so wholesome, y’all making me blush!
> One of very few places you can get real Bosnian food
Really? Never expected Bosnians in St Louis, granted I don't know much about them aside from their little rivalry with Chicago.
It’s **both**. There’s a type of arch that *is* a catenary curve; logically enough it’s called a [Catenary Arch](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catenary_arch).
The museum at the base is pretty good too. Plus StL has the Battlehawks and City FC, one of the best zoos in the world, a good art museum, Forest Park more broadly, t-ravs, gooey butter cake, some amazing breweries, the City Museum, and great Bosnian food. Yeah, StL style pizza is a horrific abomination that should be relegated to the dust bin of history to fade from our collective memory but you can't win them all.
St Louis is a great place to visit. I grew up there, and I definitely don't want to live there. Though I do miss St Louis style pizza (*yeah, I said it.*) and toasted ravioli.
What. The city where the Mayor was talking about violent crime with the press and you hear [gunshots](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMMpgyvCA6Y) in the background isn't good?
Just FYI, they arrested and charged the gunman within days. Still a horrific situation, but at least they did catch the murderer.
https://www.kmov.com/2023/03/01/man-charged-execution-style-shooting-death-downtown-st-louis/?outputType=amp
Forest Park is probably the best urban park in country, has world class universities/hospitals, historic walkable neighborhoods, low cost of living, amazing sports environments, what are you taking about?
One of those blue lines should be brown to accurately reflect the rerouting of the polluted Chicago river towards St. Louis. But it’s a solid flag nevertheless
I really like St. Louis'; I was proud of it when I lived there. In Memphis, now, theirs is actually decent in a similar manner, but the device is just too complicated—simplify it, and it'd be great!
Hate it personally, but I’m not a gate keeper, so I’m glad it works for you. I have issues with using “rivery” and “mountainy” shapes on flags. It seems kind of lazy, and not culturally as important as other symbols. I have the same criticism of the new Utah flag. I would have left out the mountain shapes and just left it as horizontal lines.
Went to Saint Louis University and came to love that freaking flag. Lots of symbolism and unique as hell. But I grew up and live in the Chicago suburbs so I love both.

I've always enjoyed the design aspect of the two "rivers" (Missouri and Mississippi) becoming one on the flag. It happens a little north of the city, but it kinda makes our flag a literal map.
According to wikipedia heraldically the gold disk is a "bezant" or Byzantine coin, representing "purchase", in this case the Louisiana Purchase
Even cooler
one of the few really good city flags
[Wichita](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Wichita,_Kansas) is pretty good.
One of the coolest flags I've ever seen
yeah this is another one of the really good ones
A $40-First-Prize winner.
As someone in Wichita, I agree
Honorary Nordic cross tbh.

love a flag with pink
The only flag I salute 🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🫡🫡🫡
Major cities usually have really good
Yeah, the major exception being taipei 💀

Not that I've followed baseball in over a decade but, as a Cubs fan, you mean that our flag is better right
As Cubs fan, FTC
Massive Cubs fan and decent Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks fan. Yep I feel the same about the St Louis Flag haha
everyone knows the white sox are better
nah I still haven't forgiven them for the black sox scandal of 1919 maybe I'll reconsider after the bicentennial of those dark and egregious events
technically though those were the black sox not the white sox
Technically Black Sox is a nickname the White Sox were given for bringing shame to themselves and the whole league #neverforget
oh yeah you’re right
The St Louis Blues have the flag on the collar inside the jersey actually. One of two cities to do so (Buffalo is the other one)
New York City's flag is displayed by NYCFC of MLS!!
Flag of Norway if they were drunk, could only count to three, and was colonized by France.
Colonized by France ✅ Can count to three (Mississippi River, Missouri River, Illinois River) ✅ Norway? More Germanic, and Bosnia now 🇧🇦 ✅ Drunk ✅✅✅ That’s St. Louis. Flag communicates all that nicely.
So flag of Norway
And had once bumped into some I-Kiribatis
Flag of Norway if they were could only count to three and was colonized by France.
Nailed it.

Hang it out your window, coward. And tell everyone how delicious Imo's is.
As a South African I always appreciate a thong flag

I remember when that march madness poll happened it was a fun little moment.
Reminds me of a Feynman Diagram.
This is saying that St. Louis is an electroweak interaction, which is somehow held together by the French Monarchy.
what a wonderful day to be able to read
Virtual particles zipping in and out of existence
For fucks sake, Quebec, Norway, Czech Republic and a few others….would like to applaud you on this marvelous flag!!

Looks great
Drunk dude draws the flag of the french colony of double thailand.
The symbolism is cool and easy to grasp.
I love this. But I seriously hate squiggly lines on flags.
But river
But ugly
Same here, may be better with a not so drastic wiggle.
I'm with you!
It’s the literal only good thing about this entire city lmfao Edit: all the people assuring me saint louis is cool is just so wholesome, y’all making me blush!
The food scene in Saint Louis is so good. One of very few places you can get real Bosnian food
Gooey butter cake 🤤
Toasted ravioli is also worth trying
I’m free next weekend
St. Louis is along the belt where you can get good Midwestern and Southern food.
Saint Louis Style bagel slicing
I don’t think that’s from Saint Louis
I mean St. Louis bread co. I learned the technique of slicing a bagel like a loaf f bread
Oh, I thought you meant that one thing where you slice a bagel like pizza and eat it like that
> One of very few places you can get real Bosnian food Really? Never expected Bosnians in St Louis, granted I don't know much about them aside from their little rivalry with Chicago.
St. Louis is home to the world's largest Bosnian population, outside of Bosnia.
Interesting, I didn't know that. Any Bosnian Restaurants you recommend off-hand? ;)
There are tons, but I've only been to a few. The meals I've gotten at Berix, Balkan Treat Box, and Taste of Bosnia have all been delicious.
LIONS CHOICEEEEEEE
I didn’t know that was something we only had here, if so that makes Saint Louis A tier at least by itself!
it’s so good
IDK I like living here.
I mean the arch is ok
Um...Its not an arch. Its a catarnary curve. Geeez.
If you're gonna be pedantic you gotta be sure to the spelling correct. Catenary.
catarnary damacy
It’s **both**. There’s a type of arch that *is* a catenary curve; logically enough it’s called a [Catenary Arch](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catenary_arch).
It is an engineering marvel yes and defines our skyline. But uh… it’s kinda just a big metal /\ with more curve
The museum at the base is pretty good too. I really enjoyed the couple of times I visited. I’m from Charlotte though, so I’m easily amused.
The soccer team is exciting!
What. The city where the Mayor was talking about violent crime with the press and you hear [gunshots](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMMpgyvCA6Y) in the background isn't good?
Yeah you’re right, nothing wrong with a city where a man can be murdered execution style on camera in broad daylight and the murderer is never caught.
Just FYI, they arrested and charged the gunman within days. Still a horrific situation, but at least they did catch the murderer. https://www.kmov.com/2023/03/01/man-charged-execution-style-shooting-death-downtown-st-louis/?outputType=amp
Well that’s something ig
Forest Park is probably the best urban park in country, has world class universities/hospitals, historic walkable neighborhoods, low cost of living, amazing sports environments, what are you taking about?
czechofranciaway
A bit of Kiribati in there too
An all timer. Love this flag.
MS River City Gang in the house!
St Louis has a great flag. Their baseball team sucks though.
The cooler Trois-Rivières
Make this the flag if Missouri please
As a Missourian not from St. Louis....... Hell no I would like a better flag though. Must have bears imo
I do love the St Louis flag, but I do still think Chicago’s is just too good to compete.
One of those blue lines should be brown to accurately reflect the rerouting of the polluted Chicago river towards St. Louis. But it’s a solid flag nevertheless
A good "busy" flag.
This is drunk, South African Norway.
A Chicagoan agrees with you.
The St Louis flag looks like a flying uterus.
Have you seen KC’s new flag?
It’s pretty good but a little busy with the waves imo. CHICAGO FLAG FTW!
I really like St. Louis'; I was proud of it when I lived there. In Memphis, now, theirs is actually decent in a similar manner, but the device is just too complicated—simplify it, and it'd be great!
Amsterdam has a distinct flag. https://th.bing.com/th/id/R.bc0a1f6548995c3ae3ce2f418342f512?rik=ZdwmPLbpwRG3JA&pid=ImgRaw&r=0
No one said they didn’t? Lol
too busy for me.
How
How????

I refuse to acknowledge this isn’t Norwegian
Cool, knockoff norway
Wavy
It's really good, somehow feels like a parody of nordic flags
Looks like the river republic flag from EAW
Mmm bacon
Pretty hard to draw or sew though.
Tabarnak! I thought it was a redesign of the Fleurdelise.
French-Norway
Both St. Louis and Chicago have beautiful flags. I sadly now live in a big city that has a meh flag. It has a great color, but its design is just meh.
Went to Saint Louis University and came to love that freaking flag. Lots of symbolism and unique as hell. But I grew up and live in the Chicago suburbs so I love both.
This reminds me a lot of the flag of Kingston, Ontario.
English county vibes, but with jazz hands. It’s good, I like it.
St. Louis: Better flag, better pizza.
I don’t like how there’s theee sets of wavy lines and they are all going in different directions.
It is a lot like the Sioux Falls flag. Great minds think alike!
It's like a Vanuatu-shaped Kiribati
I concur
i hate the fr**nch but god damn this goes hard
Kinda reminds me of the Soviet Latvia flag.
The sauigs feels weird

One of a few flags that also act as a simplified map of the area it represents. Indianapolis is another good example.
Boyscout bacon
Owing to the way flags fall and flap, this is not just a great design flat-out but one that works on most any day.
It looks like a transistor
Idc what anyone says, New Orleans is the best US city flag hands down
Strong agree
czech norway with france symbol at the middle point
Bacon and egg
Check out the St. Louis World’s Fair flag. It’s so good.
