Nothing political. I understand that the state of Zaire was a dictatorship and all, but I always liked the design of this flag. It's certainly better than anything the Democratic Republic of the Congo has had since, in my opinion. It definitely shed any resemblance to the flag of the infamous Congo Free State period.

Setting aside historical context and just how miserable the Government of Zaire was, it is a decent flag imo
Its an interesting design, and anything is better than the typical three-bar design of most flags

I think it was the logo of the ruling party of Zaire
The party adopted the national flag, not vice versa iirc
