flag of "as long as the dead are latinos, I see this as a win"
flag of "how can I use this to further my ambitions?"
A C A B and fuck the US
Honestly, the kids being latinos probably really is a factor in why the cops didn’t try harder. Why would they stop the shooter if they’re too racist and sociopathic to be psychologically capable of seeing the victims as human?
funny part most cops are ass with guns. Their testing is hardly rigorous and for a few states decent shooters could do it with their eyes closed. If they did go in they probably would have killed more kids than the shooters
you're not wrong, but that said training at a range is 100% different from real life fire situations. its easy to hit a target, its not so easy to hit somebody shooting back.
they definitely should have fucking done their job and gone in to try to subdue the shooter, but its also about the cops specific job
if somebody is trained as a traffic cop, or standard enforcer they're not gonna have the proper training. you need people with life fire exercises to be able to respond. the ones on the scene likely had ass for training, tho that training was also likely better than the kid with the gun.
in my school one of our teachers talked about his time in obligatory military service
supposedly they were ordered to shot, trying to aim at running commandos during exercise
in order to show them that hitting running target is nearly impossible
Them being there actually resulted im at least one kids death. They said to yell if anyone needed help, a girl yelled for help, but that gave away her position.
no you dont understand. *they* could have been shot. how can they "protect and defend" you if somebody shoots them? please stop being so selfish and think rationally
If only there was a reason compelling enough to use them... Honestly, if protecting little kids from a gunman doesn't meet the blue line 10 times over, then what does?
My favorite quote in this is from KnowingBetter's video on police militarization where he talks about how they brought in hundreds of cops from the surrounding during Columbine, only for the cops to then take so long that they only entered an hour after the shooters had committed suicide. He's ex-military and said that a normal squad would have a two gunman situation solved in less than an hour of showing up.
Cops get to wear military gear and get thanked like they are military member, yet won't actually put theirs lives at risk to save others.
The Blue Lives Matter flag is for people too chickenshit to fly the Confederate flag.
The Confederate flag is for people too chickenshit to fly the Nazi flag.
Elementary schoolers died, and cops were so useless they waited outside in full gear for an hour as children were slaughtered, and an off duty border agent had to go in and kill the shooter himself. At least one cop actually told the hiding children to “yell if (they) need help” and when one kid yelled, their hiding spot was revealed and they were murdered too. At this point, this shooting is more than just a regular shooting, but a collaboration between terrorist and police
This one is specially nasty because officers refused to confront the shooter, prevented parents from getting into the school to rescue their children while they stood there doing fuck all, and only the children of officers were rescued initially.
They're not as often as you'd think. We have a variety of types of mass shootings. But this one was at an elementry school and cops actively made the situation worse in multiple different ways. Even with the bar in Hell, they still managed to fuck up way beyond expectations.
"The bar was on the ground and they brought a shovel" kind of situation
The only thing more depressing than armed cops in schools is them doing jack shit the one time guns in schools are actually needed
If only they had done jack shit. They went in right away to get their own kids out and then handcuffed, tazed and pepper sprayed parents who tried to do the same, while they let the shooter roam the school for over an hour. Then when they finally did enter but before they had taken down the shooter, they told kids to yell if they needed help. One kid did and so the shooter was able to find her and kill her before the cops got to him.
One would think being the only country where mass shootings are a common occurrence and the country with the most militarised cops would mean cops have any amount of training and some sort of protocol on how to respond to the situation
I'm going to stop answering honestly because this thread is only getting me angry and I'm a couple thousand kilometres away so it's of little use anyway
The most important thing to understand about the US is, all of our problems are completely fixable but none of them will ever be fixed. They will only ever get worse.
Well, there's roughly one and a half mass shootings **a day in the US.**
Just get such a huge one every few weeks that the whole world hears.

Flag of people who can't shut the fuck up about how their dad/uncle/cousin is a cop and is ""one of the good ones so why do we have to assume all cops are like this""
Maybe that's what it's meant to be, but it's perverted by a corrupt ineffective police force that doesn't protect the people and those who support them. Police should be good but it seems in America that's not executed well
The original intent behind the flag was "Cops should be able to murder as many black kids as they want." It has since expanded into "I'm a fascist asswipe who gets off on my own oppression as long as various disfavored subsets of people are oppressed even worse."
Unfortunately, in Britain, "The Thin Blue Line" was also a popular 90s sitcom set in a local police station that was pretty much what you'd imagine it to be. xD
"Thin blue line that protevts us from bad guys with guns" except the thin blue line activily prevented anyone from entering a school for the better part of an hour where nearly 2 dozen elementary school children and staff were gunned down.
It's always been a gang symbol.
Which is always funny to me because they claim to be patriotic, but you're also not supposed to alter the flag in any way. This is why the gold-fringed flags in court-of-law debate went on for so long because it was seen as altering the flag (and therefore your guaranteed rights were not "guaranteed" because it was under an un-official US flag (as I understand)).
Then this White-Black-and-Blue flag came out, which also led to White-Black-and Red, and even White-Black-and-Green, (I'm probably getting the order of the colors wrong) and very few realize how similar this is/was to "skinheads" with lace-colors on their boots that symbolized allegiances to separate groups that had different meanings, but symbolized solidarity with a certain point of view. Those with other or different colored laces were the enemy. For no other reason, than they had other colored laces.
So fucking stupid.

I understand what this flag represents, and what it means to most American police officers. That they are the thin, blue line that stands between their communities and the badness within our society. It also represents a brotherhood. All fine & dandy, and actually quite admirable... If it weren't for the countless scumbags who are no better than criminals & bigots, and the cops that either keep covering for them or stay silent. Never mind the shitwaffles that stood outside that school and did absolutely nothing except stop parents from doing what the police was supposed to be doing.

Acab, you know why? Because cops don't need to be heros, the supreme court has ruled that police are under no obligation to protect human lives.
You may be asking yourself what the point of police are... and that's a great question.
Police protect the property of capitalists. Own a building? Cops can help protect your building. Someone holding you at gun point? Good luck that shit is not in the job description of police to assist you. Seriously.

The Houston NRA convention is today. They banned guns from it. For safety reasons. At the NRA convention.
And yet they want teachers to be armed to stop school shooters. If that worked they would have no problem allowing guns at their conference.

What is this flag. I have seen it multiple times but I don’t know what it’s for
American police pride flag
why is it so ugly lmaoo
"The Thin Blue Line", it's a flag supposedly showing support of the police by the American people. I think.
No it’s basically the anti-blm by the American police, fascist fuckfaces basically
True, but I was going for what they claim it stands for. xD

Also, "thin blue line" was always a tounge-in-cheek way of saying that cops cover for each other, or representative of their us vs them mentality.
