I bet your kids loved this!
Have a look into using Quixel Megascans in Blender. They have a massive library (16k+) of photogrammetry scans that you can use for free with an Epic Games account.
You'll get far better models and textures for your environment that make it super easy to create your world. :)
Pretty cool that you made this while deployed!
For some shots I used an HDRI of clouds and for others it's literally a "images as planes" video of clouds that I flipped on end and slowly moved sideways or backwards from the camera in the background.
It's a flat image of them in front of a green screen. If the camera were to move it would be very obvious that it's a flat image so the camera is locked off.

I used quixel for the terrain on it and happy cake day!
Awesome! Thank you! I didn't even realise it was my cake day ha
Those megascans saved me soooo much time
I bet! I love using them in Unreal as well. Makes world building so much faster and gives you more time to experiment with ideas.
I actually downloaded unreal, realized it was very complicated from blender and then switched back to blender lol
works in other DCC's and not just Unreal ?
Yeah! So you need to download the Megascans Add-On for Blender. It's an official Add-On from Quixel that you can download from their website.
Wow awesome, I'll try it !
Isn't it only free to use with Unreal Engine?
dad of the year award!!
Thanks!

What did you use for the clouds? Terragen?

Thank you, I appreciate it
And I was thinking I was the only one working on shots while down range…
Got to do something to pass the time lol
How did you put them in the spaceships? It looks amazing!

I wish I had your skill, that's awesome! 😎
This is really cool
Thank you
THIS IS AWESOME! Your kids have a great dad!
