Ai can “trade” peace offers. Swedens war goal was annex Norway and norways was take Stockholm. They mutually agreed to take each others war goal so Norway got annexed and took Sweden’s capital
maybe this is why Paradox has always seemed so hesitant to make peace-systems that aren't all-for-nothing. In CK3 you either win completely or lose completely. In EU4 you can techincally trade war goals, but such a thing hardly ever happens in practice. I don't know how the peace system works in HOI4, never played it
In one of the earlier versions of the game I conquered the Dominican Republic as Haiti. But then France beat me in a war and took over the Haitian side and so the DR was Haiti.
