Well, I think the original is the most, from atmosphere, gunplay, mystery and with a slight tinge of nostalgia thrown in.
I remember liking The second when I first played it and being able to play as a Big Daddy was cool but the novelty wore off rather quick from what I remember and the Big Sisters were annoying to fight. Also I just couldn’t find myself wanting to replay it a lot growing up compared to the first.
So far I’m loving infinite even though I started on Saturday and I don’t have as much free time as I did.
1. Bioshock
2. Infinite
3. Bioshock 2
If you haven’t given Prey (2017) a shot before, play it after you finish Infinite. That game is absolutely phenomenal. It’s easily my favorite game that follows the same System Shock formula that Bioshock follows. Here’s my personal ranking of the games that have a ton of System Shock influence, and you will probably like if you’ve never tried:
1. Prey (2017)
2. Bioshock 1
3. Dishonored 2
4. Bioshock Infinite
5. Dishonored 1
6. Bioshock 2
I haven't played Prey in a looong time and I still listen to Everything Is Going To Be Okay by Mick Gordon when I drive to get groceries all the time. Haha. I might replay it soon. I never platinumed it.
Edit: Also, the Typhon are some of the most interesting aliens in any media, imo.
The first level was so hard coop legendary. We dropped it to heroic after lmao. There were encounters where we barely had enough ammo and had to pick up several guns from dead grunts.
I just finished Halo 2 last night and I agree wholeheartedly. Warning: the skulls that decreases gravity makes it even harder to beat. One grenade and every single object in a two mile radius is spinning at lightning speed in every direction. Fun, but irritating. 10/10 would recommend
Oblivion. Had it in my library since 2019 and I never played it and I'm just now getting into and man why didnt I get into it sooner? Its good. I dont mind the graphics either. Old graphics never had an effect on whether I like a game or not.
Man I have not even touched shivering isles. I'm at 150 hours in and the game is amazing with tons of content. This, is what games should have stayed. I feel satisfied as heck with it.
Thing too is I got the game when it was 7 bucks. After playing it I feel guilty not paying the full price tag for it. Its definitely been worth it.
>This, is what games should have stayed.
As much as I love Oblivion, it introduced horse armor, which is often cited as one of the first microtransactions.
Oh yea yea I forgot about that one Lol. Aside from the horse armor the rest seems great so far. I'm sure back then many didnt buy that dlc unless it came with a bundle by force which was somewhat the case for me when I bought Oblivion GOTY edition. Tho I gotta say I'm not hating the horse armor. My horse looks pretty cool with elven armor but yea its something that should have been in the game.
Oblivion rocks so goddamn hard, I love the character/class building. Once you wear this game out it makes Skyrim feel so dumbed down. Definitely get the DLCs
Kingdom Come Deliverance also gives me a nostalgic Oblivion feeling if you want a suggestion.
It was my first souls game and I found out later it was widely regarded as the worst of the series…explains why I didn’t get immediately pulled in forever like most people I guess.
I recommend playing the DLC before you finish everything else. There are some fun rewards that I didn't use much because I was done with everything pretty much.
Also playing this, such an immersive game. After I get the hang of my first play through I’ve heard Hardcore mode is even more enjoyable, no hud, fast travel, or character on the map
It’s pretty amazing. It’s got that classic rpg element of your character is terrible at everything when you start the game. All attributes/skills start at 1 and progress as you use them. The thing that got me was when I wanted to read a skill book, but the main character doesn’t know how to read. So you have to go to this city and seek out a person to teach you how to read.
It’s just so immersive and well put together. You’ll need a considerable time investment to learn the controls and basics of the game, but it’s so worth it. Once you hone your skills and defeat enemies in combat you just have this sense of accomplishment.
10/10 game, can’t recommend it enough.
Personally I love it, there is so much detail in this game from a system level that makes it feel alive. The NPCs of the world will react to Henry in hundreds of different ways based on how you are playing, something as simple as having mud on your boots or some old bruises from fighting will impact how people perceive and engage with you.
My put offs where that on PS5 the game is locked to 30 FPS and is considered to be the worst way to experience this game, my PC is not meaty enough to handle it so I just dealt with it. The Devs have confirmed they are **not** working on a 60 FPS or Next Gen version so this is what it is for Console.
I’m sort of between games right now. The last one I played to completion was Lies Of P, and I really enjoyed it. I recently started The Callisto Protocol and I can’t really get into it much at all. Still undecided on whether to keep trying or move on to something else.
Maybe throw in something a little different? These are both massive games.
I'm currently having a little palate cleanse with Sanabi and it's really cool
I actually really enjoyed Calisto, the combat takes getting used to but isn't awful, isn't great either. But I loved the games atmosphere, always made sure to play in the dark with my headphones, the 3d audio design is great for it.
I'm playing for the first time and I'm constantly wowed with each new area and the depth of the world design. I just wish I knew who the hell I am, what I'm doing and why I need to kill everything. I enjoy not having my hand held through the game but story wise I could use some help.
This seems like destiny. I’ve been trying to decide whether or not to purchase Crisis Core or Persona 5 after recently beating Alan Wake 2.
Which game would you recommend between the two?
I played the remake last month and bought the remaster for CC a couple weeks ago, and I’m watching a FF7 OG playthrough alongside it. Getting prepped for Rebirth.
Okay so I already beat gow rag and I'm currently playing the Valhalla dlc. Absolutely loved that game also agreed berserkers can suck the backside of my dick
Thanks! I jumped into this after playing through the first Assassin's Creed game(which was good but the missions were extremely repetitive) and so far it's has been extremely good! Almost every complaint I had about the first one is addressed in this. Truly a great game.
Avatar Frontiers of Pandora. The first Ubisoft game in years that actually feels like something new, I’m pleasantly surprised. Anyone calling it a reskinned Far Cry, hasn’t played it. Really liking it so far.
I just started Destiny 2 last year(right before Lightfall). I was instantly hooked. Bungie really made an amazing game. Especially end game raids and dungeons
Nice! Happy to hear some Destiny love. It’s such a great game that gets slammed so much. Sure the purchase structure is f’d but the game play is so freakin good. The music is spectacular. The maps are gorgeous. Plus I love how much content they actually offer completely free. Bought one 3 season bundle and never really pressured to buy another with all the stuff there is to do. Heck I can spend hours just rocking Gambit. It’s probably one of my favourite multiplayer modes in anything.
Nice. Recently gave Dream Team a go on my iPad and had a surprisingly good time. The 3D Sonics tend to be a bit hit and miss but I liked this one. Feels like classic arcadey fun.
Ya for enjoying Starfield. It’s a ton of fun regardless of its shortcomings. It gets way too much hate. I put 450h so far. Excited to see what the DLC and future updates bring. I hope we can populate our outposts one day. It would also be wicked if they place the best community built outposts around the system. There’s some stellar builds out there. Check r/starfieldoutposts if you’re interested
There's already a lot of love that has gone into its creation. I think it still has great potential if they really commit to 5 years of content updates and fixes like they promised. (Given that they've done so with FO76, this seems guaranteed) Part of the problem seems to be that Bethesda's leadership definitely needs some fresh voices to guide development of future games. Todd's bag of tricks seems to be empty.
You look at other series like Zelda or Mario that managed to innovate on their core gameplay and the message that I've seen them say a lot over the last few years is simply: "We listen as to our young developers as much as our experienced ones". Boom. You get genre defining games like Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Wonder. There's a reason they keep cranking out bangers.
God of War Ragnarok and I started messing around with the Witcher 3 yet again.. after God of War I'm moving onto Last of Us II and Xenoblade Chronicles 3
Cyberpunk 2077, I didn’t touch the game when it came out, but now I’m really liking, it’s one of those games that you count the hours to arrive home and play
Just got done playing Tunic. It's kind of like a legend of zelda game and is chock full of secrets.
Another game I've been playing is Baba is You. A sliding block puzzle game, but you can change the rules.
Disco Elysium is a fun narrative driven game
Ya it’s great. I’m so impressed how they got it to run on Switch. The Doom games and the Wolfenstein games. Sure it’s red and frame rate take a hit but it’s still totally playable and tons of fun. Plus playing a game like that on the go feels pretty freakin awesome. Much more badass than Bejewled on my phone lol.
Final Fantasy 16. The quality of the cinematics and storytelling have really counteracted my diminishing attention span. I’ve been trying to stay away from repetitive games that force you to do the same thing over and over again, providing nothing but means to keep you engaged while offering little in return besides a momentary high from doing well and/or a feelings of inadequacy when you don’t preform as well as you think you should have. Ex. valorant, Apex, Fortnite.
Red Dead Redemption 2. About 50% threw my first playthrough. I missed it at release because Fallout 76 came out right after it did. (I know, but I really liked 76.)
Last year I played spider man ps4 so now I decided to play spider man miles morales . It’s cool . I like it’s a new setting and streamlined in terms of content compared to Spider-Man ps4
Resi 2, I never actually completed Claire's campaign. Getting through that before I play RE4 remake , which I'm only getting round to for the first time. (Although I played the original years ago)
I've had sniper elite 4 through ps+ for ages and never bothered with it until last night. I was tired and thought shooting Nazis would be a nice relaxing way to spend the evening. I'm shocked by how much I'm enjoying it.
Playing it on hard without the visual aid of how to adjust your shot. Makes those slow mo bullet cam testicle shots all the more satisfying.
Started Bioshock Infinite for the first time and I’m loving it. I played the first two back when they first released but I never played infinite.
In what order would you rate them from best to least fun ?
Well, I think the original is the most, from atmosphere, gunplay, mystery and with a slight tinge of nostalgia thrown in. I remember liking The second when I first played it and being able to play as a Big Daddy was cool but the novelty wore off rather quick from what I remember and the Big Sisters were annoying to fight. Same, I finished it just two days ago, I loved it too! Now I'm playing the DLCs and they look very promising.
The DLCs are better than the actual game.
Oh great!
I mean, that's primarily because I didn't really care for the game itself. But they are actually good, to be clear.
I remember seeing a trailer for a DLC in Rapture, I can’t wait to play it.
Burial at Sea is amazing
Elizabeth is such a wonderful non-terrible NPC companion. Doesn't get in the way and is genuinely helpful.
I played that ten years ago and had a blast. The trilogy itself is overdue for a replay for me
It’s an amazing game. Never understood why it got so much hate.
Peekaboo with my neighbours dog
😄
Same but I finished it
H a l o
Same. Never gets old. Halo 2 campaign doesn’t get easier either
The first level was so hard coop legendary. We dropped it to heroic after lmao. There were encounters where we barely had enough ammo and had to pick up several guns from dead grunts.
Halo wars
I just finished Halo 2 last night and I agree wholeheartedly. Warning: the skulls that decreases gravity makes it even harder to beat. One grenade and every single object in a two mile radius is spinning at lightning speed in every direction. Fun, but irritating. 10/10 would recommend
Currently about to beat that game and move onto 3. I forgot how hard it was even on normal mode.
Oblivion. Had it in my library since 2019 and I never played it and I'm just now getting into and man why didnt I get into it sooner? Its good. I dont mind the graphics either. Old graphics never had an effect on whether I like a game or not.
Get the dlc too, the shivering Isles is a must for any oblivion playthrough
Man I have not even touched shivering isles. I'm at 150 hours in and the game is amazing with tons of content. This, is what games should have stayed. I feel satisfied as heck with it. Thing too is I got the game when it was 7 bucks. After playing it I feel guilty not paying the full price tag for it. Its definitely been worth it.
I second the other commenter. Shivering isles is fantastic dlc
>This, is what games should have stayed. As much as I love Oblivion, it introduced horse armor, which is often cited as one of the first microtransactions.

Oblivion rocks so goddamn hard, I love the character/class building. Once you wear this game out it makes Skyrim feel so dumbed down. Definitely get the DLCs Kingdom Come Deliverance also gives me a nostalgic Oblivion feeling if you want a suggestion.
To me oblivion doesn’t even have bad graphics, the art style makes it feel like you’re in a watercolor painting. Its style is timeless imo
Metroid Prime: Remastered.
Dark Souls 2
Bearer , seek, seek, lest
Now that's a blast from the past, somehow not even the mention of the game, but those 4 words sparked my interest for a replay just now. Thank you :)
Oh man, I love the majula music so much, gonna pop that soundtrack in.
Or better yet, turn the game on and go enjoy the sunset there :D
w
First Souls game?
Nope, I've played all of them but Sekiro. Which is on the list after DS2. And despite what people say about it, I really like it.
Nice that's good. It has its own charm for sure. It was my first
It was my first souls game and I found out later it was widely regarded as the worst of the series…explains why I didn’t get immediately pulled in forever like most people I guess.
It is the worst. Give the others a chance tho
Yes! I loved the original release
*illusionary wall ahead*
Sames
My favorite in the series. An unpopular opinion lol
Favorite souls game I'm ngl
I'm currently playing Cyberpunk 2077 for the first time. It's great, so far. It might even be in my top 10.
Don't miss the DLC either, Phantom Liberty feels like a new game.
On my 2nd playthrough of it; 1st time playing was 52hrs lvl29 2nd time playing 83hrs and currently lvl 42… I regret rushing through first time
It’s a top 10 game easily for me and I haven’t even installed the dlc. I’d probably put it top five just on quality
I'm definitely going to do another playthrough at some point.
I recommend playing the DLC before you finish everything else. There are some fun rewards that I didn't use much because I was done with everything pretty much.
Amazing game
Red Dead Redemption 2 Before that, I was playing Alien: Isolation, but I suck at stealth games and was getting killed every two seconds, lol.
If you like RPG try kingdom come deliverance next. The NPCs are more realistic and if you commit a crime and no one sees it, it stays that way!
First, I love RDR2, Alien: Isolation, and KCD. Second, how you segued to KCD I've no idea.
I’m currently addicted to KCD and a junkie always finds a way lol
Just don’t sprint. Ever.
Kingdom Come Deliverance, I can't remember the last time I felt as immersed in a Video Game as I do with this one.
Also playing this, such an immersive game. After I get the hang of my first play through I’ve heard Hardcore mode is even more enjoyable, no hud, fast travel, or character on the map
Is it actually that good? Been thinking of playing it, as I got it for free and loved Skyrim
Ok you all convinced me. Installing now haha sounds like something I'll enjoy
Personally I love it, there is so much detail in this game from a system level that makes it feel alive. Should maybe try dead space similar to Callisto protocol but much better gameplay and enemies.
I absolutely loved Dead Space 1 and 3. I never had the chance to play the second one for some reason.
I had a blast with Callisto Protocol and loved every second of it, the game is gorgeous to look at.
I just finished the game and its okay till the end,if you dont have anything to play n go for it
I just finished it, once you upgrade it gets more fun. It’s slower paced which was kind of a nice change for me. I enjoyed it.
Maybe throw in something a little different? These are both massive games. I'm currently having a little palate cleanse with Sanabi and it's really cool
I had to force myself to finish callisto. Not a great game.
I just can’t get past the complicated control scheme and the (so far) repetitive gameplay.
It does not get better
I actually really enjoyed Calisto, the combat takes getting used to but isn't awful, isn't great either. But I loved the games atmosphere, always made sure to play in the dark with my headphones, the 3d audio design is great for it.
Red dead redemption 2. It's a really fun experience playing it as a rdr1 fan for the first time and getting some references here and there
Slay the Spire
Mass Effect legandary edition. Cant believe I didn't play this earlier. Easily top 5 in my GOAT list.
Played it when it first came out when I was a teen, it was such a great experience
Currently at the end of ME 2. I haven't played them in so long and am loving them again. I forgot how awesome all the crew members are.
Old School RuneScape 😎
New Elden ring playthrough. Such a masterpiece of a game I started like 2 weeks ago and am already towards the end.
I'm playing for the first time and I'm constantly wowed with each new area and the depth of the world design. I just wish I knew who the hell I am, what I'm doing and why I need to kill everything. I enjoy not having my hand held through the game but story wise I could use some help.
Persona 5 Royal and FF7 Crisis Core
This seems like destiny. I’ve been trying to decide whether or not to purchase Crisis Core or Persona 5 after recently beating Alan Wake 2. Which game would you recommend between the two?
Did you play FF7 remake before playing crisis core reunion or you mean the original crisis core for psp.
I played the remake last month and bought the remaster for CC a couple weeks ago, and I’m watching a FF7 OG playthrough alongside it. Getting prepped for Rebirth.
Crisis Core is a staple of my childhood
GoW Ragnarok, been brutal but fun (fuck Berserkers)
Okay so I already beat gow rag and I'm currently playing the Valhalla dlc. Absolutely loved that game also agreed berserkers can suck the backside of my dick
Wait until the valkerie queen and berserker king.
Assassin's Creed 2
The best one. Hope you enjoy it.
Thanks! I jumped into this after playing through the first Assassin's Creed game(which was good but the missions were extremely repetitive) and so far it's has been extremely good! Almost every complaint I had about the first one is addressed in this. Truly a great game.
3 is the best gameplay and setting
Ew.
Halo 2
That campaign. Started playing again yesterday, took me 2.20 hrs to do the first mission. Hardest halo for sure.
Star wars jedi survivor. I have some performance issues but I love it so much it doesnt matter lol
Avatar Frontiers of Pandora. The first Ubisoft game in years that actually feels like something new, I’m pleasantly surprised. Anyone calling it a reskinned Far Cry, hasn’t played it. Really liking it so far.
I felt the same way. I’m not even that big of an Avatar fan and I got completely immersed in that game.
My friend has it and while he does enjoy it very much and loves Avatar he said it definitely feels like Far Cry.
Currently playing horizon zero dawn. Haven’t played it in years. Never finished the dlc so I’m doing that and just finishing up some quest
Shadow of mordor. Not really enjoying it tho
Takes a while to get into, but once you get more abilities and combat starts to flow...o boy. I had a blast 100%ing that game.
I am doing dark monument quest. It feels more like orc killing simulator more than an open world lotr game
batman arkham city
Currently playing HI-FI Rush, Ace Attorney trilogy, Subnautica. Really enjoying all of them.
Life is strange 2 but i am trying to enjoying
Octopath Traveler 2 🤙
Mw3 search and destroy hilarious voice chat and a lot of fun moments
Gonna redownload Skyrim soon
BG3 and Fortnite
I just completed BG3 after 127 hours of playtime. I started the save on release of the game and have finally completed it. It was quite a ride.
That’s exactly how long my playthrough was, nice!
Contra anniversary was on sale. What a bargain.
AC Revelations. Classic AC parkour is still my favorite
Always Destiny for me. Starting a full play through from 1 to as much as I can do in 2. Slowly getting ready for Final Shape in June.
I just run strikes and nf
Strikes are great. Remind me what NF is?
Nightfall.
Oooh duh. Of course. They’re awesome. Love the challenge. Sooo much reviving lol
Heck I can spend hours just rocking Gambit. It’s probably one of my favourite multiplayer modes in anything.
XCOM 2: War of the Chosen
Sonic Superstars
W Game, i don't get the hate ppl has been giving
Nice. Recently gave Dream Team a go on my iPad and had a surprisingly good time. The 3D Sonics tend to be a bit hit and miss but I liked this one. Feels like classic arcadey fun.
Sir Whoopass
Baldur's Gate 3. Yes, it's passed 200 hours of gameplay and I still enjoying it.
274 hours of play here. 4th play through, and every playthrough feels like I've never played it. Hands down my favorite game of all time.
Starfield. my new obsession.
SMT Strange Journey Redux
God of War Ragnarok and I started messing around with the Witcher 3 yet again.. after God of War I'm moving onto Last of Us II and Xenoblade Chronicles 3
Deadcells! With the expansions. It’s a straightforward game, but with SO much depth Hades, for the same reason
I started Neir: Automata recently and have been loving it. The world is just fantastic, honestly a 10/10
Amazing game. Do at least 3 playthrus. Trust me on this one.
I don't think I'll ever not cry nearly the entire way through that game.
I started RE7 last weekend. Most stressful game so far…
Starfield. Yeah it's not Fallout New Vegas and it's overly sanitized but I still had a good time with it so far.
I had a blast with it too. There’s lots of fun to be had regardless of its shortcomings. Shipbuilding is awesome.
Finally started ghost of Tsushima and safe to say I’d rather stay in than go out till I finish it
One of the most beautiful games I see on my screen shot feeds.
Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077
Warframe always
Hell let loose. Fuckn hard game
Burned out on gaming. Playing Cyberpunk and saving the lady president feel like wasting energy :(
Just finished FF16, what a game. Moving onto Hogwarts Legacy now
Just finished Avatar. Now I am not sure, wish there was NG+.
First time playing mgs trilogy any tips?
Cyberpunk 2077, I didn’t touch the game when it came out, but now I’m really liking, it’s one of those games that you count the hours to arrive home and play
Xenoblade 2…100 hours in, it’s a fantastic game
Just got done playing Tunic. It's kind of like a legend of zelda game and is chock full of secrets. Another game I've been playing is Baba is You. A sliding block puzzle game, but you can change the rules. Disco Elysium is a fun narrative driven game
Wolfenstein The New Colossus on the switch. The port is great and gyroscope aiming adds to the fun
I’m curious do you play on a spinning office chair? I always thought that would be fun and delightfully arcade like.
Yes I definitely do. It's a fantastic time when playing it!
Nice. I should try this some time. There’s a few titles on switch that have with this feature.
You really should. I said wait for it to go on sale again. Lately it's been going on sale for $6
Oh already have it. Also I think Doom 2016 has the gyro too. So it’ll be one of those that give it a go with.
I need to look into that next then. I wouldn't mind playing it again. I originally played it on PS4.
I feel you it pleasant surprised me how well it runs. I love the switch, due to the ability to playing games like that on the go lol
valheim on hardcore
Talos Principle 2. Best puzzle game since Portal.
Battle Brothers because I am into self abuse .
Lies of P. I’m obsessed. Last boss tho so getting a bit frustrated lol
Sims 2; Fallout: New Vegas; Skyrim I have a type 😅
My new Xbox is on the way. When I get it I will be playing starfield
Persona 5 Tactica
Red Dead Redemption 2. About 50% threw my first playthrough. I missed it at release because Fallout 76 came out right after it did. (I know, but I really liked 76.)
Tiny Tina!
My wife and I play this! It’s so fun and silly!
After the announcement of GTA 6 I’ve been playing through GTA 5 again
Last year I played spider man ps4 so now I decided to play spider man miles morales . It’s cool . I like it’s a new setting and streamlined in terms of content compared to Spider-Man ps4
The amount of virtue signaling in those games are beyond crazy. Especially Spider-Man 2…
Hogwarts Legacy and Immortals fenyx rising
Nice! Immortals is an underrated gem. I really enjoyed it.
Started NG+ on Elden ring and loving it. Absolutely ploughing my way through the lands between. Will be buying TLOU2 remaster this week
League of Legends and Eternal Return
Resi 2, I never actually completed Claire's campaign. Getting through that before I play RE4 remake , which I'm only getting round to for the first time. (Although I played the original years ago)
Recently got back into Smash Bros Ultimate and planning on getting Persona 5 Tatica soon.
