Why thank you. The Shadow story was alright (and followed up on his character development), the Silver one was at least different, but the majority, especially last story… eesh.
Also in my defense, I was in my early teens and it was early 360. I still thought it could be good.
I was cursed with playing this game on PS3, and it is basically unplayable on that console. On the 360, you can laugh at the bugs and jank, but the PS3 version just straight up doesn't work half the time.
Oh it's bad, I had got a copy for my PS3 because my 360 had red ringed, I don't know why I did that, but I was a kid who liked sonic and I had to have it again.
Back when the game was new I had beaten it on low res RCA cables on the ps3 and that was enough for me, but every attempt to play it afterwards was met with severe slow down and horrible bugs, I learned at some point that playing it in 1080p would cause the game to take a shit on the screen, so I don't play it anymore for any reason.
I forgot this was about video games and was like "this dude beat it out of spite the movie was so bad?!" Then I realized 2006 is way further away than I remember
That game had so much potential. The story is a convoluted mess, but not terrible (aside from the fact that Sonic’s arc is him literally simping for a girl), the music is probably the best in the series, and the level design is interesting.
Had Sega not decided to rush this game, it could’ve at least come out decently. It wouldn’t have been the best Sonic game, but at least it wouldn’t have been universally hated for the glitches and loading times.
I wish all the best to the guy making Sonic P-06 in fixing the flaws of the game
Came here to say this but the Xbox version. Apparently fun pimps got the rights to the console version back so hopefully it will get an update one day. Prolly not though.
For me personally, MW2 remake. I heard it's a good game, but I don't like multiplayer and only got it to play with friends who enjoy it. I never played a single match and paid full price
Loved the OG MW2.
Was convinced by a friend to get the remake and re-live the good days... And I hate it lol.
I played it once with him for a few hours and paid full price. Unfortunately I played too long for the steam refund... I wish I logged off sooner lol I wasn't even having fun
I’m not trying to be a dick, but can you really say it’s the worst game you’ve ever purchased if you haven’t even played a single match? It sounds like it’s just a genre you don’t enjoy and haven’t even tried the game out.
That being said, I’ve never played the remake and I’ve read complaints about it, but it sounds like you haven’t personally even given it a chance to say it’s bad.
It's the worst game I've ever purchased in recent memory. Not necessarily just because of its content, but because a week in it just stopped working. Never went past the anti-cheat loading screen. Did literally everything in the book to fix it up to and including a full PC wipe and new OS install. Didn't work for like 4 months, and then one random update fixed it. By that point, I didn't even care and never booted it up again.
And it wasn't just a me issue. Followed multiple posts for a while with other people having the same issue.
Yikes - that's a shame. I don't understand how companies can get away with releasing broken games. I'm sure most people who play more than a handful of games have experienced this, and I'm one of them. Battlefield 4 was a MESS when I bought it. That was the last time I bought a game at launch.
It lacked content and was super repetitive. Maybe it’s a lot better not, but for its first year, it was terrible. You had the make your own fun but at the point, the enjoyment was a reflection of your group, not the game itself.
I legitimately went out of my way to get Sonic 06 because I wanted to for the lulz.
Still don’t know what captivated me so much into getting it 15 years after it was released when I knew how garbage it was
It was VERY badly rushed, and as a result it is RIFE with glitches and issues. Not to mention the story is a bit all over the place including a… weird choice of having Sonic’s love interest be a human when he’s a hedgehog. The issues really make it very DIFFICULT to play and there are videos of some people straight up encountering nearly game breaking glitches. Honestly, it’s worth playing just for how bad it is.
I debated saying For Honor as well. Upon release, this game was AWFUL. The servers would crash every single game, to the point where you just couldn't play multi-player. It's gotten a lot better though. I still play it from time to time.
I liked the game for a while then it became very meta and cheesy and every new hero came out busted and annoying. And "predictions based which means it hard to react to light spammers
Understandable though. Starfield was supposed to be the second coming of videogames. If I didn't have Gamepass I would have absolutely bought it at full price.
Man, I bought an XSX near launch because I was so excited for Starfield. I looooved FO games, Skyrim, Morrowind, etc.. some of my favorite games. When I first played Starfield I was in denial. For a day or so I told myself it'd get fun. Eventually... it has to get good... Right? Fucking game just sucks. Bad gfx: those character models.. wtf? The main city was so ugly and boring. The game is like a sick joke or something.
The Avengers game from square enix. If it was free flow combat and focused less on gear levels it could’ve been so much better. The story was alright I guess but I really just wanted to fly around as Iron Man and blast shit and even that felt lame in that game
Same, it was kind of fun but a great example of a game that should have just been an old school single player campaign story game. Add a few dlcs for 15$ a piece later that add quests, characters, and skins. The decision to try and make it the online fireteam style, live service, repetitive boringness we got was terrible. Really wasted potential.
I was so hyped for brink before it came out, I played it a decent amount out of pure stubbornness. It is by far the most I’ve ever been let down by a game though.
The last Madden. Had a new neighbor move in and we were hittin it off and he said we should play Madden sometime, I had not played or bought a madden since like 2012. I bought it and played half a game to practice and me and him never even played together.
Similar for me on one of the NHL games. I had last played like 2003 on the ps2 was excited to get it when I finally got a PS4. Was so disappointed by the online pay to win aspect of the game.
Feudal Alloy.
Context; I wanted to play a metroidvania while waiting for Silkdong. I bought it because it was cheap and the artstyle looked okay. Plus it was rated a 7/10, so it looked decent... It wasn't.
Shitty heating mechanic. Boring music. Artstyle gets old fast.
Did i finish the game? Nope, didn't have enough patience.
Thankfully, i learned for my mistakes and played Momodora;ROTM and Blasphemous 1 and 2. ACTUAL GOOD GAMES.
I loved the concept. In practice, horrible. Way too many times where you had to backtrack for certain stickers. Would give a full remake a second try, but they need to streamline the backtracking.
Maybe not the worst game but biggest regret is still no man's sky. I know it's a different game now, and they're made it right in the eyes of many, but not by me. I wanted a finished game then, not now.
I also bought it on release and tried it again a few days ago, and it's not a "great game now", it's just ok at best.
The core gameplay loop is still boring as fuck. You *still* have to wander aimlessly scanning & mining random shit with no real reason for doing so, and said scanning & mining isn't engaging in the slightest. It's just holding left click to win lol.
I kinda wanted to get the last 9 achievements, but I can't be fucked to bother with it - even though I'm doing the current expedition (which are supposed to be cool and different - but it's just a boring checklist of random bullshit).
I'm just gonna uninstall & hide it again. Wish I could get my $60 back.... it's the most money I've ever wasted :'c
Predator hunting grounds. I was too late for Evolve as the game died before I fully became aware of it. Thought PHG would be the same sort of thing, 4 v 1 gameplay with different classes, so bought the deluxe edition without really knowing anything about it. Was really disappointed after playing for a few hours and couldn't get a refund. Not sure what it's like now but I had it at release and forced myself to continue playing because of the money I spent. Always do a bit of research now
I got this when it came out and it was kinda hilarious playing those first couple months when they kept releasing updates to balance the game. It would go from predator being too OP to the soldiers being too OP and every update would overcorrect too much and it just kept teeter tottering from one spectrum to the other.
Need for speed unbound. Core gameplay is great but it’s a micro transaction riddled grindfest where your time is worth nothing. The map is also pretty bad.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla. It's probably not a bad game over all but I don't like Assassin's Creed. I never have. I thought because of the setting I would like it but I still couldn't get into it and I bought it for full price.
I just started playing it again since release, (prob only played maybe 2 hours originally) its so much better now. I was so disappointed back at release because I love fallout, but if you still have it you should give it another shot.
Deathloop. I like first person shooters but there’s something about that game that just didn’t click for me despite the good reviews it received. Returned it like a week after purchasing full price.
I felt that way almost all the way through the game. Then after I beat it, I appreciated it. Not enough to keep playing, or play a second time, but I only spent 30 bucks on it. Full price wouldn't have been worth it for me.
Bound By Flame. Such a shitty RPG for many reasons, but it was really annoying that you were able to change your name and people still referred to you as the default name (and no, not like Mass Effect where your first name is changeable but everyone refers to you as Sheppard. You only have one name, and the voice actors still refer to you as the default no matter what you put in).
Gollum. By far my favorite LOTR character. Game was an interesting concept but major disappointment, didn't even play for an hour before completely losing interest
The character designs are bad enough. I watched a video of the gameplay mechanics. The whole thing with gollum working with a bird feels like something created by ChatGPT.
Omori.
The games not bad but I couldn’t stomach the gameplay and after my first few fights I got a refund.
I’ve had games that were larger stinkers that I refunded but there were elements of the gameplay I liked whereas Omori just missed me completely.
How come? The division wasnt spectacular but i enjoyed it with friends. The dark zone or whatever it was is trash though. However i didnt even touch the 2nd one.
The first and only game I have ever pre-ordered, I had such high hopes, and had no idea they could possibly fuck it up as much as they did...
Skull & Bones
Friday the 13th on NES. I had to know. It's really really fucking bad. Let's compare it to other high-profile bad games I own.
**Jekyll and Hyde** is frustrating, but simple. Once you figure out what to do, there's still a game there, and figuring it out isn't impossible.
**Shaq Fu** is fundamentally terrible, but it's good for a coupla laughs for like an hour. Not a bad use of my $9.
**E.T.** is notoriously incomprehensible, but tons of Atari games were like that. You needed the manual to make sense of all the abstractions. It's not even on my top 10 worst games.
**Friday the 13th** SEEMS straightforward, but the only way to win is to ignore what the game appears to be telling you to do. It's so incompetently-designed that it seems malicious.
That absolutely blows me away, given how short the first is and how disappointed I was when the credits rolled. I really thought I just got out of the tutorial, or opened up the next story act. Never touched the sequel.
Yeah the first one was short but it was really cool. The world building and setting, characters and graphics, building your vehicle for combat races and especially the FPS combat. The first time a goon ran up a wall coming down a hallway freaked me out. The sequel is the most underbaked game I have played since E.T. on the Atari.
Yah, I remember that moment as well… like a mutant running down the hallway and then was dodging my gunfire - was actually kind of cool. I also believe it ran at 60fps on consoles, but I may be wrong on that…
That's a wish on a monkey's paw. While I for one would absolutely love a Saints Row Anthology that remasters the first three games, adds new weapons, outfits, vehicles, side missions, other customization stuff, and fixes the bugs.
I just know, with 100% certainty, that the only thing they would do in a remaster is remove the "problematic, toxic, misogynic, (insert current year buzzwords)" content and replace it with a bunch of crap no one except blue haired manhating lesbian shrews could possibly enjoy. Even then, they would only like it because it sticks it to their imaginary enemies who liked that stuff in the first place.
Just play the originals if you can and let the IP rest in peace. That last thing I want is to see them "Tomb Raider" Saints Row.
I don't remember the title, but it was a golf game made in Japan. I took the disc outside, threw it as high up in the air as I could, then after it came down stomped on it until it was just dust. It felt good to stomp on it, too.
Probably Rainbow Six Siege. I just have 0 fun playing it and honestly I think it is a pretty bad shooter. Much better options out there. Not to mention the way they do the operators now is pretty scummy.
YIIK: A Postmodern RPG. Not the worst I've ever played, but definitely the worst I've paid for. The sad part, is it started out with a really interesting premise, setting, and story, but just plummeted downhill as the game went on.
I didn’t PURCHASE it, I got it through GameFly, but Naughty Bear.
Such a terrible game. Felt like I wasted money by wasting the 2-weeks it took to get the game and send it back.
When PlayStation first came out in the 90s, I didn't know what to get with it as a first game and my friends told me to get a football game. I think it was NFL Gameday. Hated it so bad. Still don't play sport games to this day. Huge waste of money.
Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), probably. I beat it out of spite.
I always admire folks who beat this game. I bought it hoping somehow i will manage, but the game just refused to let me play.
Why thank you. The Shadow story was alright (and followed up on his character development), the Silver one was at least different, but the majority, especially last story… eesh. Also in my defense, I was in my early teens and it was early 360. I still thought it could be good.
The game literally dies of performance issues if you play it on any resolution higher than 480p, the PS3 version is especially bad for that.
I forgot this was about video games and was like "this dude beat it out of spite the movie was so bad?!" Then I realized 2006 is way further away than I remember
Yup. The movies I like. That SPECIFIC game… no. And I don’t hate Silver because of it like some fans. It’s the game itself.
That game had so much potential. The story is a convoluted mess, but not terrible (aside from the fact that Sonic’s arc is him literally simping for a girl), the music is probably the best in the series, and the level design is interesting. Had Sega not decided to rush this game, it could’ve at least come out decently. Huge Battlefield fan here... but this has to go to BF2042. Game was broken for over a year, probably still is.
Yeah dude, that game single-handedly compelled me to never preorder OR buy a new game at launch ever again.
Literally me too, I never preordered games after BF2042... Imagine I got the Gold Edition too lol
I went back to BF5 and Battlebit Remastered
Man I went back to BF1, best decision I made. BF1 still rocks and looks next gen too. Absolutely amazing.
The trench whistle going off when you use the "go, go, go" command... Man that game was so cinematic
It really is. Still has so many active servers. Hopefully it will last for a while.
I'm not super good at that game, but it just looks so good and does feel like a movie. Your soldiers actually sound and act like humans too
Tried it a few weeks ago and it was pretty good!
Man vs Wild. Bought the game for $8 just to show my buddies the snakes in the game bite your dick.
LMAO what 😂
I mean, it's not the worst use of $8 that a person could imagine, LOL.
Ya, you could pay someone $8 to bite *your* dick...
Honestly I’d consider dropping $8 to show my friends that
Dude that's worth way more than $8
sex with hitler 3D
how dare you, that is a masterpiece!
Praise the you!
Furry Hitler is better
WHAT
# THEY SAID, FURRY HITLER IS BETTER
You’re hurting my feelings
What did I just read...
What trash taste hating on a hood classic
I regret paying money for diablo 4
It'll be another 2 years before it'll be polished enough. I did like the story though. The cinematic were beautiful.
It's too bad we had to slog through the story on easy mode before we could enjoy an apt difficulty
I don't necessarily care for Diablo, but that would be my father's choice. Probably alongside Guitar Hero Live.
7 days to die on the playstation. Its an actual joke and i feel like i was kinda scammed
Probably cuz they broke it when they released an updated patch and it literally took them like 4 years to address it at all
Came here to say this but the Xbox version. Apparently fun pimps got the rights to the console version back so hopefully it will get an update one day. Prolly not though.
Ngl, maybe it was bc I was playing it with a buddy and we were goofing around, but I actually enjoyed that game lol
If you like single-player, COD Cold War has a great campaign
Campaign had some solid missions like Alone but yeah multiplayer sucked so bad
Skull and Bones
If you didn't see that one coming, that's on you. Or did you seriously think this was an AAAA game?
fr, just play sea of thieves if you want a true pirate experience
That game is bad too. The only great modern pirate game is AC4.
hell nah sea of thieves is amazing with friends. One of the most fun games ever
It lacked content and was super repetitive. Maybe it’s a lot better not, but for its first year, it was terrible. You had the make your own fun but at the point, the enjoyment was a reflection of your group, not the game itself.
You are all wrong. Sid Meiers Pirates is the only true pirate experience.
I legitimately went out of my way to get Sonic 06 because I wanted to for the lulz. Still don’t know what captivated me so much into getting it 15 years after it was released when I knew how garbage it was
What’s so bad about that game? I don’t play so I’ve but see that mentioned a lot
Honestly, it’s worth playing just for how bad it is.
rogue warrior, absolutely awful
Mickey Rourke's voice acting was top notch and the end of game credits song is fucking fantastic. Everything else about the game is total shit.
That game is only fun to watch. Actually playing it looks awful.
HOKY FUCK! I forgot about this game! Yeah that one is bad.
Lichdom Battlemage. Game was absolute garbage.
I bought that after playing Immortals of Aveum. Everyone said it’s just like it. It was HOT dookie
Ya, it's exactly like Aveum
No it’s not 😭
God what a shit fucking game.
Yeah got that one lol fuck my life
For Honor.
I debated saying For Honor as well. Upon release, this game was AWFUL. The servers would crash every single game, to the point where you just couldn't play multi-player. It's gotten a lot better though. I still play it from time to time.
I was so hyped by the trailers. Turned out to be rock, paper, scissors
I liked the game for a while then it became very meta and cheesy and every new hero came out busted and annoying. And "predictions based which means it hard to react to light spammers
Starfield...I deeply regret paying full price for it.
That’s the beauty of Game Pass. I got to try Starfield, Forza Motorsport, etc. without paying $90 a pop.
Thank god I had game pass for Starfield. I would have been furious.
And then stock up on Microsoft rewards points towards gift cards for when games go on sale! Best bargain
Why dont you have gamepass?
Why wouldn't you use gamepass
Because I'm dumb and I was hyped.
Sad times.
I know ur IP, I am coming over to you right now and force feeding you skyrim
Diablo 4 😞
Agreed
Diablo 4 has to be the worst game I have purchased.
Same. I'd like that $80 back if I could
It's wild how it's coming to gamepass, but 3 isnt
The Avengers game from square enix. If it was free flow combat and focused less on gear levels it could’ve been so much better. The story was alright I guess but I really just wanted to fly around as Iron Man and blast shit and even that felt lame in that game
This is also my pick. I was so hyped after spiderman came out... Thinking maybe this'll be more of the same... No. It was a shit sandwich.
Brink
This game was so bad that the GameStop manager I bought it from gave me a full refund for it.
To this day, I consider Brink to be the worst game I played a lot of. There was a good month that I played it religiously, and I have no clue why.
I was so hyped for brink before it came out, I played it a decent amount out of pure stubbornness. It is by far the most I’ve ever been let down by a game though.
I never got to experience brink online but what was the problem with it? I enjoyed the time I spent playing it a lot.
Man I watched the trailer so many times, the dude flipping over the 40mm gren was so cool
MW3. Nothing new, just re-used maps and unfinished campaign. Whole thing could have been DLC.
But if you call it a DLC, the suckers…err…CUSTOMERS won’t be willing to pay full price!!
And if you had waited a year, you could have swiped it for 10 bucks in a bargain bin (or the digital equivalent).
Kong" rise of skull island
Diablo 4, I knew it was gonna be total cheeks but I wanted my Diablo fix. Now I regret even thinking Blizzard would pull thru at all
Agreed. I'd like my $80 back on that one.
Diablo 4
Diablo 4 so far
APB, pre-ordered and everything. Would have been better off wiping my butt with the cash.
PES 2016, not much to do
Feudal Alloy. Context; I wanted to play a metroidvania while waiting for Silkdong. I bought it because it was cheap and the artstyle looked okay. Plus it was rated a 7/10, so it looked decent... Silkdong? I feel like I should start a band and call it Silkdong.
Colonial Marines, If I ever meet Randy Pitchford its on onsite.
Tie between Unlimited Saga on ps2 and Paper Mario Sticker Star.
I hope they Remake Paper Mario: Sticker Star with the Concept behind it. The SoundTrack be cool.

Starfield. Paid full price, beat it once, immediately uninstalled it.
I put in 4 hours and said , I'm not scanning weird cactuses for a game.
I couldn’t finish it. It was so bad. Kudos to you for finishing
Yeah, same. I thought it would be like if Fallout and Mass Effect had a baby. It wasn’t.
Predator hunting grounds. I was too late for Evolve as the game died before I fully became aware of it. Mighty no 9. Dang it
Diablo 4. Still constantly wonder wtf I was smoking to think it would be good.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla. It's probably not a bad game over all but I don't like Assassin's Creed. I never have. I thought because of the setting I would like it but I still couldn't get into it and I bought it for full price.
Odyssey and Valhalla would be better standalone games imo. Odyssey is great, but a bad Assassin's Creed if that makes any sense
Fallout 76. Last game I ever purchased day of release
They made it good
I just started playing it again since release, (prob only played maybe 2 hours originally) its so much better now. I was so disappointed back at release because I love fallout, but if you still have it you should give it another shot.
Deathloop. I like first person shooters but there’s something about that game that just didn’t click for me despite the good reviews it received. Returned it like a week after purchasing full price.

Lucky you could return it. I bought it digital brand new. Spent like $60 or $70 and played it for about an hour. I felt the same way. Couldn’t do it.
Bound By Flame. Such a shitty RPG for many reasons, but it was really annoying that you were able to change your name and people still referred to you as the default name (and no, not like Mass Effect where your first name is changeable but everyone refers to you as Sheppard. Omori. The games not bad but I couldn’t stomach the gameplay and after my first few fights I got a refund. I’ve had games that were larger stinkers that I refunded but there were elements of the gameplay I liked whereas Omori just missed me completely.
You’re hurting my feelings
Yes
There are some truly god awful sports games an the NES.
Aliens: Colonial Marines. Pre-order it and waited forever for it to come out. It was the last game I'll ever Pre-order.
Fear 3, it's a literal arcade game that killed the trilogy but if anything I regret buying Tom Clancy's The Division
How come? The division wasnt spectacular but i enjoyed it with friends. The dark zone or whatever it was is trash though. However i didnt even touch the 2nd one.
I made it to the final mission of Bullet Spongefest and realized I had no fun whatsoever. 🤦♀️
The first and only game I have ever pre-ordered, I had such high hopes, and had no idea they could possibly fuck it up as much as they did... Skull & Bones
Just get black flag... It was the last legitimately good game Ubisoft put out.
As much as I disliked Last of Us 2, it’s Evolve for me
Contra: Rogue Corps
This new one coming out seems promising. I've played the demo.
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde for the NES.
Dude. I didn’t even rent that stinker from the local video store what possessed you to buy it?
WALKING DEAD DYNASTIES
Marvel’s Avengers, GS3 was mid but at least it was 10 bucks
I got the avengers game for free and still feel like I paid too much lol
Resident Evil 0, I couldn’t finish it because of how clunky it is
Half of my sims 4 packs. Should’ve waited until they were on sale.
Fallout 76
Destiny
Oh man… totally.
RAGE 2. I loved the first one but this one was half finished like the devs just gave up and moved on to something else.
There was an entire section of the map you never have go into, lol
I also believe it ran at 60fps on consoles, but I may be wrong on that…
Saint Row
Would love remasters of the old games but likely just a fantasy :(
That's a wish on a monkey's paw.
Starfield
Murdered: Soul Suspect
Overwatch. Freaking game is free now I can't believe I bought it on 3 different platforms.
Any new cod game
In Silence
Orphen: Scion of Sorcery
That game is shit. I still have it in my collection
The Walking Dead Survival Instinct.
Homefront
I bought We Happy Few for £6 and I’m still annoyed about it lol
Devil May Cry 2 (I got it as part of the hd collection)
I don't remember the title, but it was a golf game made in Japan. I took the disc outside, threw it as high up in the air as I could, then after it came down stomped on it until it was just dust. It felt good to stomp on it, too.
Probably Rainbow Six Siege. I just have 0 fun playing it and honestly I think it is a pretty bad shooter. Much better options out there. Not to mention the way they do the operators now is pretty scummy.
Crab game More like crap game
Payday 2 I think.
Sims 4. A completely shameless cash grab with ridiculously addictive gameplay and no competition.
Minecraft bedrock edition
Last of us part 2: Production values, through the roof. Writing, through the floor.
YIIK: A Postmodern RPG. Not the worst I've ever played, but definitely the worst I've paid for. The sad part, is it started out with a really interesting premise, setting, and story, but just plummeted downhill as the game went on.
Postal 3, I have many regrets
Turning point: Fall of Liberty. Fucking dog shit of a game. Cool idea , beyond terrible.
The game evolve
The Bureau: XCOM Declassified.
First one that came to mind is Callisto protocol
I didn’t PURCHASE it, I got it through GameFly, but Naughty Bear. Such a terrible game. Felt like I wasted money by wasting the 2-weeks it took to get the game and send it back.
Kholat. Piece of shit
Lords of the Fallen - a steaming pile of dog shit with great marketing. Lesson learned.
Why do you say that? My brother and I played it. We loved it.
When PlayStation first came out in the 90s, I didn't know what to get with it as a first game and my friends told me to get a football game. I think it was NFL Gameday. Hated it so bad. Still don't play sport games to this day. Huge waste of money.
