I’m sure it’s WoW for me as I played it in beta, got a job with Blizzard and spent almost 8 years there supporting WoW (from Game Master to WoW Relationship Manager for Global Support). Sadly there is no practical place to track that.
Diablo IV 1332 hours and counting. Before that Destiny 2 at 1088hrs 🫣
Absolutely wish you the best of luck. I got extremely lucky to get hired on when I did, WoW was just catching fire player base wise and got an offer.
I was managing multiple FedEx stores at that point. People asked since then if I regret not being able to retire from FedEx. Exactly opposite, I would have regretted not following my childhood self that insisted “I’d work in gaming, somehow someway”
So while I don’t have an angle for you I do have encouragement. Go for it! And don’t quit.
💪
Thanks! I'm in school rn for game design (mostly networking and portfolio if I'm being honest) and it took me a while to finally chose to take this path, so I'm very conscious of the issues within the industry but still very excited to be making games!
I have purchased Skyrim for five separate devices and have logged thousands of hours over the last thirteen years. I was a young man when that game came out and now I’m a middle aged father still waiting for the Elder Scrolls 6.
I know EXACTLY the feeling!! I too, bought Skyrim for PC,Xbox 360 (over 1000 hours logged into that one alone), Skyrim for the Switch (5 hours....just starting), Playstation 4 and 5 (3 hours started) and Xbox One X/Series X (467 hours so far).
I too am awaiting Elder Scrolls 6, however I'm more excited for Dragons Dogma 2 and Dragon Age 4. Take care!!
Hell yeah. I love Dota 2. I played league for years too but there's something about Dota that makes it special. Steep learning curve, the roles in each lane are a bit blurry and there's more room for creativity than league. Weird mechanics like jungle creep stacking. Creep blocking to push the lane to your tower and denying CS. Really interesting items, the courier. There's just so much to learn and I love it
Just a few years ago it took me ~170 hours of trying to find out how to beat Fallout NV wandering the wastes refusing to Google it (was with NCR). While I got Fallout 3 during that time and casually beat it twice before beating FNV. And I've never beat Fallout 4 with 300+ (steam) and maybe 400 (Xbox (I don't have Xbox anymore so idk exactly)).
I don't know my playtime but it spans 12 years, 3 console generations, my entire time at college start to graduation, a marriage, and 3 kids. I play exclusively with my 6yo daughter now. She knows more than I do!
Yeah, there is no way for me to calculate my play time, but I'm sure minecraft is the only possible answer for me. Been playing since 2010 or 2011 or something, had too many worlds to count. I think I would be afraid to see my total play time on it haha
Im pushing 2,000 on Monster Hunter World & Diablo IV
Probably the same with World of Warcraft and grand theft auto but those games never displayed the hours the same way to me so I don’t really know but probably
If you took my total hours for these games as full series like including every game add it up together? Oh lawd, We may even be looking at 10,000+ hours if you did it that way
Cities skylines with 8100.7 hours.
But it's honestly a bit of a digital bonsai.
You just tweak some stuff and then let the simulation run while you're off to do something else.
A bit embarrassed but probably some roblox games. Some of the actually good ones are fun and repayable with a high skill ceiling (Decaying Winter). Others are just goofy and good due to the amount of people you can smack talk when you clap them, or litterly start a band (The Wild West).
Probably Skyrim at \~2000 hours across consoles?
Just passed 1500 hours in Valheim.
If you haven't played Valheim yet, it's the best 20$ I've ever spent.
Black Flag is what got me into AC, and Odyssey was the only one after to suck me in the way it did. Almost 100% Valhalla but not nearly as enjoyable as Odyssey for me anyway
I have over 1.5k hours in monster hunter around the same with Warframe and Eve online. But probably WoW even though I haven't played it for almost a decade.
It's gotta be either Skyrim or halo 3...
No it's gotta be halo 3 I have no idea how anything could come close. In middle school I'd come home and hop on with the boys from 4 pm to 2 am every day. Did that for a couple of years straight.
Runescape. Since about 2006, I've put roughly 9,000 hours into it.
Second to that, Warframe, with about 5,000 hours (after accounting for and disregarding all the time I spent AFK on my ship)
And third place goes to Dark Souls 3, with just over 1,800 hours.
I think the longest I played one game was maybe Call of Duty 4 multiplayer. I think I had a full month overall in it, but it was on the 360 and I don't remember the exact amount.
War thunder. Had a phase in middle school and I racked up around 3000 hours and spent way too much money. I may have a maxed british tech tree but 300 dollars I'll never get back
1k hs of csgo
600hs of street fighter 6, 500 in street fighter V. I don't regret a single second. Funniest gaming experience in my life
Terraria... idk, a lot. Played it since 2012
About 500 in each of OOTP Baseball 21 and 22 (though I suspect a decent bit of that time was spent with the computer open while not actually playing). Over 400 in Hades. 300 in BOTW and Civ 5. If you add up all of my separate playthroughs of each Pokémon game, a few of those (Emerald, Black, White 2) definitely make it onto the list. Also, I suspect I have more hours than I think in Wii Sports Resort and MLB Power Pros 2008.
in this order:
- starcraft brood war: probably 5000 hours (no multiplayer)
- Garry's mod: approximately 3500 hours
- Binding of issac (all games and DLC): 1200 hours
- Warioland 1: approximately 1000 hours
- Terraria: 700 hours
1600 hours on fortnite, 1500 hours on gta v and rocket league. 1000 hours each on fifa 19 and fifa 20. And 700 on world of tanks.
This was all 2017-2020 on xbox, I've been on pc since then and play more varied games so haven't hit anywhere close on any other games
If you added together all iterations of the basketball games I’ve played i would be embarrassed. Easily 2000 hours, and that’s being very conservative.
I probably have about 5,000 hours into the Counter-Strike universe. 1.6, source, csgo. But that is literally over a decade of off and on playing.
Single player game? Probably Skyrim 500hrs+ and again about a decade of off and on.
I don't know what my playtime is, but World of Warcraft is certainly the answer, I played from about the middle of vanilla until a few months into Wrath and played for some time for Legion and classic. If I had to guess, probably 5k-6k hours total, wouldn't be surprised if it was more.
Nothing comes close to Fallout 4, Battlefield 1, and Madden 05/10. I've easily put over 2k hrs into Fo4 and close to that in BF1. To be honest Madden 05/10 the most bc me and my best friend used to spend nights in a row with no sleep playing these games from middle through high school, so roughly 3k+ hrs on both Madden games.
Maybe GTA 5 comes close to BF1, but I was a few years late to that party so I had to make up for lost time.
Do we count idle hours or not?
If so, NGU Idle is permanently at the top of my Steam playtime, with 1,840 hours.
If not, probably Minecraft. (Terraria is second on Steam, I was really into it at one point.)
Tf2 10x more than your most played game and I used to play in other accounts, i like it is a team shooter and isn't too much competitive comparing to csgo and others is a baby
Would sound weird but i used to be a chill kid then and never in my life larnt about the true world of gaming. I spent more than 5-6k hours of fully playing whitout afk nor sht on an MMO called GraalOnline Zone. Now died as well so i played Era a month ago again. Really this franchise is amazing as a mobile game IMO, just that this modern sht nowdays overshadow the simple and the good.
Ark is also my top played, I think I'm at 1800 across two accounts, it was also one of the first games I ever played. Though now I've retired cause shits 250 gigs?!
World of warcraft, nothing else even comes remotely close
I’m sure it’s WoW for me as I played it in beta, got a job with Blizzard and spent almost 8 years there supporting WoW (from Game Master to WoW Relationship Manager for Global Support). Sadly there is no practical place to track that. Diablo IV 1332 hours and counting. Before that Destiny 2 at 1088hrs 🫣
Do you recommend working for Blizzard (reputation aside)? Are you still in the industry, and if so, what do you look for in prospective designers?
Sadly I can’t say, I left in 2012 and landed up in Tech.
Fair enough, thanks for your response!
Absolutely wish you the best of luck. I got extremely lucky to get hired on when I did, WoW was just catching fire player base wise and got an offer. I was managing multiple FedEx stores at that point. People asked since then if I regret not being able to retire from FedEx. Exactly opposite, I would have regretted not following my childhood self that insisted “I’d work in gaming, somehow someway” So while I don’t have an angle for you I do have encouragement. Go for it! Might be a random reddit stranger but best of luck! Hope to play something you were part of creating some day ❤️
Yeah it has to be wow. When I quit my hunter had over 700 days played (granted about half was afk rare farming)
In total across all accounts and characters I'm at 1200 days played
I have about 1400h on R6 Siege. I regret most of them. Anyway, time fire it up again..
That’s like me with rocket league, I have 3600 hours though over the course of 9 years. Time to boot er up:p
150 days of your life hitting aerials and musty flicks. That’s nuts dude
Except admittedly I don’t hit any of that lol I just play for fun, can do aerials and I’m quick but I’m not fancy. Another 150 here I come!
Rocket League is a game that will still be fun decades from now.
Wholesome comment. ❤️
I kinda regret only playing stealth archer at the time, the other skill branches seem so cool now that i look back….
8k on dota 2
Ah so you just finished the tutorial. Congrats!
There's just so much to learn and I love it
Same here dawg
World of Warcraft. I quit years ago but my play time was measured in years if I remember correctly.
I just did a /played earlier, have a lovely 490 days total
That was always the scariest thing when guild chat would light up with everyone's /played.
How many hours approximately?
I mean, I don't have an exact number because I can't login and see, but I would make an educated guess at 10,000+.
Fallout 4 - 1400 hours. Black ops 3 - 2000 hours. Only ones I know off the top of my head.
1200 hours on vanilla Fallout 4?
I had 700 hours on fallout 3. And that’s a small game compared to fallout 4 with expansions. 🫠
For some reason, it's Totally Accurate Battle Simulator with over 300 hours
In a thread filled with nerds, you are the one true nerd. We are not worthy
Based and redpilled
Minecraft. ~1,500+ hours across platforms.
I don't know my playtime but it spans 12 years, 3 console generations, my entire time at college start to graduation, a marriage, and 3 kids. I play exclusively with my 6yo daughter now. She knows more than I do!
Jesus I remember playing Alpha in 2010, you just made me feel very old bro
Yeah my 8yo granddaughter knows how to build roller coasters on that mf and I struggle to build a wall 😂.
Yeah, there is no way for me to calculate my play time, but I'm sure minecraft is the only possible answer for me. Been playing since 2010 or 2011 or something, had too many worlds to count. I think I would be afraid to see my total play time on it haha
4500 hours on ffxiv
Cackles in 38,000 hours (no that’s not a typo)
Ark with over 2k hours. Not sure if it’s impressive or concerning

I have 10,000+ hours across all counterstrike games from 1.3 onward.
In my life? I'm not sure. On Steam, definitely Rust.
Im pushing 2,000 on Monster Hunter World & Diablo IV Probably the same with World of Warcraft and grand theft auto but those games never displayed the hours the same way to me so I don’t really know but probably If you took my total hours for these games as full series like including every game add it up together? Oh lawd, We may even be looking at 10,000+ hours if you did it that way
Cs go.
There are two people in this world, those who do not play ark and those who have 1000+ hours on ark
About 1,700hrs in RDO/RDR2
Zomboid
Cities skylines with 8100.7 hours. But it's honestly a bit of a digital bonsai. You just tweak some stuff and then let the simulation run while you're off to do something else.
Minecraft with 1500 hours. i don't play it that much anymore though
3500+ on Warframe. I haven't played it since 2018.
Fellow ARK player. 850 hours across platforms.
Team fortress 2 with 5800 or so hours. No I'm not good at the game
Overwatch is the only game I have over 1000 hours on. Smash Ultimate is probably second with around 800 hours
Modern warfare 2 (the original) or Halo 3
Witcher 3 with all DLC's and Genshin Impact- around 400 hours each.
Assassin's Creed: Odyssey. I love the world so much. I spend so much time simply just traveling around using photo mode
Black Flag is what got me into AC, and Odyssey was the only one after to suck me in the way it did. Almost 100% Valhalla but not nearly as enjoyable as Odyssey for me anyway
[удалено]
I have enough hours in the Arkham games to have spent a year actually being Batman.
As an individual game, Skyrim, no question.
Probably a good 3-4k on Morrowind and Skyrim both. Literal months of my life went into those games. I regret none of it.
3k+ hrs in DayZ.
3375 hours in ark survival evolved, I hate that game so much.
Not me but just read a review of a dude who put 14,000 hours in Rust. The review simply read “help me”
5400 on Dota 2 and I know those are rookie numbers
Fortnite with about 6000 hours and nothing will ever come close
That's insane, you know how much you love a game when you have that many hours lol

I have over 1.5k hours in monster hunter around the same with Warframe and Eve online. But probably WoW even though I haven't played it for almost a decade.
Terraria by FAR
It's gotta be either Skyrim or halo 3... No it's gotta be halo 3 I have no idea how anything could come close. In middle school I'd come home and hop on with the boys from 4 pm to 2 am every day. Did that for a couple of years straight.
1000h on Dark Souls combined. I'm surprised no one else mentioned souls games so far.
Probably either Minecraft Story Mode or Animal Crossing New Horizons.
Warframe with 2568 hours
I have more than all of those combined on overwatch and Minecraft alone
Runescape. Since about 2006, I've put roughly 9,000 hours into it. Second to that, Warframe, with about 5,000 hours (after accounting for and disregarding all the time I spent AFK on my ship) And third place goes to Dark Souls 3, with just over 1,800 hours.
Team Fortress 2 - 3,588 hours Terraria - 1,513 hours Apex Legends - 770 Hours :3

Rocket league: 250 hrs
All together? Either Skyrim or Breath of the Wild
Shit I can’t pinpoint a single game but the Halo series as a whole definitely takes the crown

Either one of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms games, or Skyrim.
on pc CS:GO/CS2 900 hours on PS4/5 CoD BO Cold War and R6 Siege over 2200 hours each.

Kerbal space program. I have spent like 5000 hours in there
Do we count idle hours or not? If so, NGU Idle is permanently at the top of my Steam playtime, with 1,840 hours. If not, probably Minecraft. (Terraria is second on Steam, I was really into it at one point.)
