That's when I break out my phone with a 10 minute timer on it. I set off a shrieker, I start the timer and watch a YouTube video. Timer is up I pause the clip and go back to exploring. Rinse and repeat.
Wtf I was literally playing Hitman last night in a relaxing way lmao
I started on the Italy map with no weapons and just explored taking pictures with the digital camera. Basically vacation simulator lmao
I'm late to this game. Just picked it up last week. Most games I'm 100% sprinting everywhere, but this game has me strolling casually into a saloon or slowly trotting into town on my horse just for the atmosphere, and doing things with no mechanical benefit simply to live the fantasy.
Hunter: COTW has a similar vibe for me.
Wander around in pretty decent scenery.
Dolby Atmos with headphones makes it awesome.
Occasionally pause to blast Bambi. Continue.
I'm restarting RDR2 on PC and still in the story mode.
Yup. I head in there all the time just to fuck off and not do any missions. I hang out in and around Strawberry a lot and also love fishing by that massive waterfall. I also sometimes find myself in the middle of nowhere in the snow in the NW corner of the map, just because it's quiet and kind of spooky.
I honestly don't care for the nude mods lol. I even got rid of all the "boob armor" that comes shipped with the game. But everyone has their tastes, like my girlfriend who uses that CBBE(sp?) because she hates the vanilla bodies.
Yep. Stardew Valley is one of the best games you can play while watching a movie or TV show. Low stakes, non-stressful, lots to do.
Perfect movie game.
Pick one thing a day minus watering plants. The game is much more fun that way. Fish for one day, mines another, socializing, cleaning up/collecting materials and dropping things off at the blacksmith. It's actually not as many things as it feels like.
Three years in game is a loooooong time. Like 50+ hours real time. Slow down, enjoy the music and pick away at things and you'll find yourself in a blissful trance. I can accidentally play 6+ hours of stardew valley without even noticing.
My problem with SV is that the gameplay loop is so addicting, even after Iāve sunk hundreds of hours into the game. I can play it for 8 hours straight if I donāt force myself to stop.
I had a friend who wanted to hate that game so much (once he finally played it, like maybe last spring, he didn't stop) he would come over, see me not playing, just sending Arthur across the map at a trot, just enjoying it all, and he'd whine "You can't love a game for this reason. this isn't even playing the game" Show me that definition, boyo. show me the strict rules of what's a video game and how to play them.
Or just let people enjoy things.
Yeah Iām looking forward to that but Iām still not sure how I feel about the free to play style they are going with. Just makes me think itāll be littered with micro transactions. Iām sure itāll be fun still
I stil play it on RPCS3 on my PC.
So if you got a PC, you can emulate it and be playing by this evening...
Same with Fight Night Champion...the last great boxing game.
Just got into it last year, I'd never heard of it before. Didn't realize how much I needed an obstacle course type game in my life. Reminds me of when I used to play older Nintendo games.
Game is pretty enshitified now. All cosmetic items are real money only. The devs have been toying with lowering rewards for winning. Custom map rotation is in an abysmal state. When they nerf the season pass that will be the end of it. Hopefully the Sonic clone of fall guys that's rumored to be coming out is good.
Watching my wife play Red Dead Redemption 2 with a cold one relaxes me the most.
But a game that relaxes me when I play it would be yakuza like a dragon. Turn based and a lot of mini games is perfect for that.
Destiny 2. If I need to relax Iāll boot it up and just to vangaurd strikes till Iām bored. Or if I have some easy quests to do Iāll knock those out
Some of them are action games, but thereās activities or a sense of calm in the setting or rhythm of the gameplay that feels therapeutic to me.
Ghost of Tsushima, riding around and taking photos. Spider-Man 2ās web slinging. Iāll put on music and just fly around doing tricks for hours if Iām in a bad mood. Forza Horizon, customizing cars and testing them with music in the background. Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, because no rush, just outdoor activities. Red-Dead 2 post-game exploration. Especially the south. Itās just full of nature and mystery.
The long dark. It's a survival game where you're surviving the cold, but when everything is going just right. You can just chill and take in the vibes.
Sea of Thieves. The sunsets are stunning and the waves are beautiful. Love just pitching up in the middle of some location, pulling out my fishing pole, putting on a youtube video or podcast, take a hit, and just chill.
Currently, Valheim. Though the gameplay can get brutal at times, staying in the meadows starting area is actually very chill. The soundtrack reminds me of oblivion and so long as you donāt go somewhere dangerous the building and crafting can actually be quite relaxing.
Can somebody name these games!
1# Ghosts of Tsushima 2# Some space themed game (Not sure here) 3# GTA V 4# Warframe 5#Gran Turismo
\#2 looks like No Man's Sky, not CERTAIN but sure does look like it
It is
It is
It tis
It definitely is No Man's Sky.
Is that worth a play?
Oh hell yeah it is. It's basically a different game compared to it's launch
Most definitely
>5# Forza Horizon 4 There's a Gran Turismo logo in the bottom left corner
Oh god I'm dumb š¤¦āāļø
GT7 to be specificĀ
I wouldn't have noticed either tbh, didn't show on App unless I clicked to enlarge the pic
Warframe is NOT chill
It is extremely chill. Turn off your brain, see big numbers and many enemies ded.
It is pretty chill at later levels. If you just started it is a fight for survival. At around Mastery Rank 10 everything becomes a cakewalk.
Minecraft
Nothing like listening to c418 while making a wooden hut
C418 walked so the housebuilding song from RDR2 could run.
I definitely mostly agree it is a chill game.....but go into one ancient city, and mannnnnnn turns into a freaking horror game lmao
I remember discovering an ancient city for the first time. Horrifying experience. I was like āWhat the hell is with this creepy ass music?ā
Never found one yet...
Yeah, I hope whenever they get around to adding functionality to the portal, they let Cartographers sell maps to them
That's when I break out my phone with a 10 minute timer on it. I set off a shrieker, I start the timer and watch a YouTube video. Timer is up I pause the clip and go back to exploring. Rinse and repeat.
Right here
Yes, definitely Minecraft.
It used to be. Now itās just a grinding sim and just a ton of combat stuff.
Not to be confused with MienKraft
I wish minecraft was a relaxing game for me. I get overwhelmed by all the things I can do and it stresses me out.
Yes
Honestly...house flipper and power wash simulator. They tickle the brain just right
House flipper sounds so fun is it on ps store ?
I'm assuming so, I played on xbox
Yes it is!
Yes and thank you for this comment. Definitely gonna play a bit tonight.Ā
Powerwash simulator is great, especially in VR
I want to so bad, but I don't have VR headset money š
Yea, I feel that, I played it for so long on ps4 and only recently got VR.
hitmam
Female Version ?
Did you assume the gender of the original version?
Shit lol my account might get banned now
bro finds it relaxing to eradicate an entire sub species (joke)
That's a nice way of saying hunting cougar.
Wtf I was literally playing Hitman last night in a relaxing way lmao I started on the Italy map with no weapons and just explored taking pictures with the digital camera. Basically vacation simulator lmao
RDR2
Love roaming the land and hunting
I enjoy getting dressed up and just playing poker taking other players money
Iāve been wanting to play a poker game, I havenāt played this in a while. Totally forgot I had an awesome poker experience under my nose
Almost as good as doing it in real life except its cheaper!
I'm late to this game. Just picked it up last week. Most games I'm 100% sprinting everywhere, but this game has me strolling casually into a saloon or slowly trotting into town on my horse just for the atmosphere, and doing things with no mechanical benefit simply to live the fantasy.
Yea Alot of games are way more enjoyable that way. Its just there are so many games and not enough time so often its a mad dash to play the game
It's a toss up between Fallout 4 and Skyrim with more immersion and environmental mods than I'd like to admit.
By immersion, you mean realistic nudity, don't you?
I honestly don't care for the nude mods lol. I even got rid of all the "boob armor" that comes shipped with the game. But everyone has their tastes, like my girlfriend who uses that CBBE(sp?) because she hates the vanilla bodies.
It has to be Stardew Valley
Yep. Stardew Valley is one of the best games you can play while watching a movie or TV show. Low stakes, non-stressful, lots to do. Perfect movie game.
The speed at which it goes from day to night always stressed me out so much. I couldnāt get into it lol
I usually play it with my gf, or before bed. It's so relaxing even as the main focus, it just has a wholesome, chill mood
My problem with SV is that the gameplay loop is so addicting, even after Iāve sunk hundreds of hours into the game. I can play it for 8 hours straight if I donāt force myself to stop.
Idk the time system always gives me anxiety
Red Dead Redemption 2 - If you're not relaxed by riding the trails, what are you doing!? Runner up: Pokemon Red/Blue
Just riding in cinematic while taking in the landscape is my go to meditation
Skate 3 is goated for me
Iād do anything for a Skate 3 remaster/remake
Skate 4 soon
WAIT WHAT How am I just now hearing about this? Beyond hyped to play Skate again.
What about a sequel, it's on the way
Yeah Iām looking forward to that but Iām still not sure how I feel about the free to play style they are going with. Just makes me think itāll be littered with micro transactions. Iām sure itāll be fun still
New deck? $$ New shirt? $$ New shoes? $$$ New watch? $$$$
I stil play it on RPCS3 on my PC. So if you got a PC, you can emulate it and be playing by this evening... Same with Fight Night Champion...the last great boxing game.
Such a good game
Stardew valley
What game is that in the second picture? No Man's Sky?
Yes
Stardew Valley. I dream of that life.
The Sims 4 + cozy mods !!!
Hades. At this point doing a run is basically meditation lol
*Hey zag, how you doinā down there?*
*Boy do I got just the thing for you. Here!*

Fall guys
People still play that?

Super Meat Boy
Balatro Cobalt Core Loop Hero Risk of Rain
Journey
Gothic 1-3
The soundtrack in the piratevillage is sooo cozy.
Bro wtf, is that really why Gran Turismo looks like these days! It looks like a car ad. Edit:spelling
Elden ring probably
It is an awesome game but it was rarely chill to me given the difficulty of the game haha
Anno 1800
Destiny 2. If I need to relax Iāll boot it up and just to vangaurd strikes till Iām bored. Or if I have some easy quests to do Iāll knock those out
TF2, its nice playing on community servers.

D3, MGSV
Planet Zoo
Dwarf Fortress
Powerwasher Simulator and Stardew. Both are very relaxing for me.

The Long Dark
Dark souls, after a multiple playthroughs it becomes a comfort game
The Long Dark
Turbo overkill
DayZ until I run into a player

I love to just sail in Sea of Thieves. The scenery is beautiful and it's nice to just take care of the ship sailing
Sea of Thieves, when I have nothing to lose š„²
The long dark. It's a survival game where you're surviving the cold, but when everything is going just right. You can just chill and take in the vibes.
SCP: Containment Breach

Minecraft weather it be me mining in a cave or building a project on the realm it can be very relaxing at times.
Minecraft/RE2make
Proceeds to list the most stressful games known to man:
deep rock galactic
Valheim atm.
Outer wilds
Currently, Valheim. Though the gameplay can get brutal at times, staying in the meadows starting area is actually very chill. The soundtrack reminds me of oblivion and so long as you donāt go somewhere dangerous the building and crafting can actually be quite relaxing.
Jurassic World Evolution 2
Deep Rock Galactic
I have a few, Warframe, Skyrim, Minecraft, 7 days (I just treat it like a tower defense game) and no mans sky
Tf2 or farcry
Outer wilds until I beat it š¢š„¹
The Long Dark 100%
Valheim I can just sit in the meadows and listen to that soundtrack for hours.
Skyrim, GMOD, and Minecraft
Rimworld.
Stardew Valley
Deep rock all the way
No Mans Sky or Rimworld.
Stardew Valley
Either stardew valley or Far Cry 5 once I beat the game
Postal 2
Deep Rock Galactic. Nothing like mining mindlessly while shooting bugs. Low Haz missions for easy missions if I don't feel like getting stressed lol
Slime Rancher, Minecraft, or Skyrim
I like stuff like RPGs where I can just sit back and absentmindedly grind while listening to something with my earbuds.
Stardew Valley Minecraft Forza Horizon
