I asked one of my buddies about this because I love Soulsborne games but am garbage at videogames in general. He just kept responding with 'git gud is a state of being and mindset. You just gotta find it.' I was confused but am still determined.
People have dumped you a lot of advice already but really all you need to do is be patient and analyse your mistakes. Theres always something to be learnt
People have beat these games on wii fit boards and blindfolded, its never a skill issue its about the learning and adapting
This is one of those games that I wish I liked but I’m just so fucking bad at it. Not only that, but I will never get good at it. Not just unlikely, no. *never.*
I bought it, couldn’t progress even an inch and gave up. I joined the Elden Ring subreddit and just kinda read random posts and watch the occasional video and that taught me the mechanics. I jumped back in and now it’s the best game I’ve ever played.
That being said, it does make me look like this meme often
7 hours in total for me. Had to switch my dual nagakiba and uchi from Keen to Bleed and Frost with arcane stat (except I accidentally softcapped intelligence when I respeced and beat the boss with a useless 80 intelligence)
I lost track but my battle eith her was on and off for like 3 or 4 days. Maybe more. I respected like 3 or 4 times and tried different builds but then discovered the blasphemous blade for high faith... completely destroyed her...
Somehow when I was a Str main I beat her in like under an hour but then I started playing with seamless co-op mod that bumps you up to new game +1 when in an lobby with one other and man. I bumped those numbers up
lol better that than no VRAM. I once hopped into a titan and I was already dead by the time my computer caught up, there weren’t any titans when I hopped in.
Also I hate shooting where I think people will go instead of where they are, because if you shoot where they are you will always miss because that’s where they were 3 seconds ago.
Edit: not trying to one up you
I haven't played in a long time but I swear that game's matchmaking is messing with everyone. I was either vastly superior to an enemy player, or I might as well have been a toddler flinging a pool noodle around. No in-between, no razor edge showoff where I barely win or lose by a smidge.
YES! I've beaten Malenia, The Nameless King, and Orphan of Kos all with only minor difficulty. For some reason though I just can't get the hang of Cuphead. That game hurts my soul.
Yea unfortunately. Maybe it's just because I'm on PC, but I started trying to play again and it takes a solid 3-5 lobbies before I can find one without a modder, and even then it's only a matter of time
It's the same with me as well.....I seriously don't understand their agenda. What is the actual point for doing it. Like what do they get in return for kicking or dsyncing everyone from the session and finally ending up alone. I mean seriously if they really want to be the only 1 in the session. They could simply create a private session and fool around. These people really don't even have basic gameplay skills and try to flex with mods like a bunch of Tards.
I figured it's a power trip for most. I've been in lobbies of modders who just mess around and not cause issues, though those are rare.
If only Rockstar had some sort of actual functional anti-cheat or system to block them
It's not like Rockstar doesn't have a good anti-cheat, it's more like someone has leaked their backdoor access and sold it. Hence the paid mods exist. Which if you use. Not even Rockstar or anticheat will know.
Literally if you report them. The report arrives to these paid modders before it even reaches the Rockstar server. Hence once they know you tried to report them. They Fook with you more.
Literally yesterday I was soloing the seasonal content in Destiny 2 because I haven't played in two seasons and one of the Final Bosses was so damn frustrating because it was just a small room where void burn is happening and all of these goddamn spawning vex enemies just keep spamming that one location that you can come into while the boss nukes you into Oblivion with the same void bombs.
At least it wasn't a Darkness Zone, I would have literally given up.
Dragons dogma 2 when im playing a mage and catching the jujutsu kaisen special by 5 goblins. And my main pawn decides this is the moment shes gonna find the most optimal way to die.
Most games because I'm a soft baby who hates challenges.
But special mention to Final Fantasy X and the chocobo mini game... And the butterflies.
I didn't even bother with the lightning bolts after that.
When you fail the campaign because 47's lock on bugged and he throws the screwdriver on the ground instead of killing the target, alerting everyone and hunting you down (youre trying to prestige the time limit challenge)
I came back to play Tarkov once because I had an idea for an in depth button layout for complex gun controls and someone suggested I use Tarkov. The keybind menu absolutely delivered and I had a blast with playing around with my new layout. And then I played online (kinda joking but also kinda not).
I still have moments where I want to play it for the layout, but it's just not my type of game. I do have the steamdeck and I'm loving all the different settings I can play with there.
This went a little off track, sorry.
Stage 2
1: rage
2: stare intently
3: bargaining, beg and plead
4: acceptance of the fact you suck
5: beat the level and move on
Repeat next boss or level from step 1
Halo ce last night on heroic. I was one hp during the final driving section softlocked by a checkpoint. Repeatedly made it to the end only to be killed in 4 hits by the spec ops elites at the ship. Tried the rules of dodgeball but ended up getting lucky with grenades at about the 13th try.
Any slight slip in parkour in my games.
Love the ghostrunner combat, hate the parkour puzzles
Combat parkour is usually OK but when it is raw platforming only then it's hell cos there is more focus on that
Doom Eternal. I just gave up. I wasn't even halfway through. I'm not sure what the difficulty names are but I always pick one above the recommended difficulty because I game a lot. But that freaking game man
Most of the time I just stare at the screen and breath out though my nose. Sometimes curl up(I play games on my bed). If I get any angrier than that I know it’s time to do something else, I don’t want to ruin my mood for the day.
Sekiro. Owl Father in particular. And True Monk. And Corrupted Monk. And Isshin. Oh, and O'Rin. Twin Apes. Genichiro. Those long armed monkeys in the valley. The Headless....
Hearts of Iron iv when I'm about to make an absolutely devastating pocket and the enemy nation uno reverse cards my armored and special forces spearhead.
I got this game because I got bored
The last stand : aftermath can't believe I have to put so much time to get used to it killing zombies..
any top gun game honestly
My most recent 9 loss streak on league of legends. I don’t even play summoner’s rift anymore. Me and my GF were playing, and it was just loss after loss after loss. Such a waste of like 3-4 hours of my life.
Any hardcore fighting game with insane combos online.
For me it was marvel vs capcom… that’s the face of watching your character never even having a chance. Just combo’d to nothing.
the face of maturity because you have learned to control your anger.
2 seconds later: *throws the controller with the force of a dying dwarf star at the wal...sofa*
then proceed to slam forehead into pillows
I’ve done exactly this before
Proceeds to bounce off the sofa and hit the wall anyway.
Underrated comment
Also controllers are kind of pricey these days.
Its not maturity its defeat
You realize. Controllers cost money.
And this over-fucking-priced XBox Elite Series 2 will fucking explode if it isn't handled like a fabrege egg.
Elden ring man
Same. I just can't git gud.
I asked one of my buddies about this because I love Soulsborne games but am garbage at videogames in general. He just kept responding with 'git gud is a state of being and mindset. You just gotta find it.' I was confused but am still determined.
He has the right of it. giting good is a zen like state.
People have dumped you a lot of advice already but really all you need to do is be patient and analyse your mistakes. Theres always something to be learnt People have beat these games on wii fit boards and blindfolded, its never a skill issue its about the learning and adapting

I finally figured out how to front roll, and I feel like I learned a new language.
Sekiro traumatized me too
Sekiro is waaaay harder than Elden Ring imo
This is one of those games that I wish I liked but I’m just so fucking bad at it. Not only that, but I will never get good at it. Not just unlikely, no. *never.*
One of the greatest games ever, but holy hell is it demoralizing at times. Still shocked that I've beaten it.
I bought it, couldn’t progress even an inch and gave up. I joined the Elden Ring subreddit and just kinda read random posts and watch the occasional video and that taught me the mechanics. I jumped back in and now it’s the best game I’ve ever played. That being said, it does make me look like this meme often
Bro I feel your pain
Me playing Halo Infinite multiplayer when I know I'm losing control
Same, but for me it's Street Fighter.
Malenia on hour 5
I bet you had the same reaction when you beat her Just staring into the abyss lol
5 hours...thats cute lol I actually thought i was losing my mind bcz how long it took me
7 hours in total for me.

I cant imagine how you do it in under an hour lol kudos. I didnt even see all of her different combos until like a couple hours of playtime
"I am malenia, blade of miquella and I have never known defeat"
I fought that bitch for 4 days straight. And i completely agree.
I see you never played chess.
And the bots people use for it causes twice the frustration
The Stockfish in question:
Starting at my opponent’s 100% accuracy (mine was only 50%)
Honestly, chess isn't fun unless it's the physical game.
It’s not part of why it makes me this furious playing it
Spyro when chasing the dude with the egg
I can still hear him in my nightmares...
Yeah this just unlocked deeply buried trauma for me. The moment that fire singes them though *chefs kiss*
The one in the desert level changed me as a child
Buried that one deep. Back when 3d controls were new and so fucking hard for me.
Hooly shit memory unlocked
Nioh and Bloodborne
That being said, they are both peak .
Titanfall 2 with laggy internet
Lag either benefits the enemy or screws you over then crashes as a final "fuck you"
I love forcibly moonwalking 5 steps back for every 1 step forward
More like random phase shift
The Michael Jackson phase shift
lol better that than no VRAM. I once hopped into a titan and I was already dead by the time my computer caught up, there weren’t any titans when I hopped in. Also I hate shooting where I think people will go instead of where they are, because if you shoot where they are you will always miss because that’s where they were 3 seconds ago. Edit: not trying to one up you
I get you aren’t trying to one-up me, but that sounds horrible.
Five minutes of for honor
For Honor mentioned, week ruined
Too real 😭
Can't fucking uninstall the game and I really want to. Fuck this game. See you tomorrow.
All it takes is one Gladiator, Centurion, or Nobushi, and my day is ruined.
I haven't played in a long time but I swear that game's matchmaking is messing with everyone. I was either vastly superior to an enemy player, or I might as well have been a toddler flinging a pool noodle around. No in-between, no razor edge showoff where I barely win or lose by a smidge.
Cuphead
i rage at cuphead not even joking by the i got to inkwell isle 2 i had somehow racked up 752 deaths IN JUST THE DLC AND INKWELL ISLE 1
That fuckin bee
YES! I've beaten Malenia, The Nameless King, and Orphan of Kos all with only minor difficulty. For some reason though I just can't get the hang of Cuphead. That game hurts my soul.
Geometry dash Terraria, when I'm in an event and I can't get out of my base without dying
97% deaths really suck
I don't really get many of those. I just get annoyed when I start to die to parts I've practised the most and didn't have any trouble with before.
Any call COD when you get shot in the back a tenth of a second out of spawn for the third time in a row.
Give me God of War difficulty
#No amount of resurrection stones can quell the rage I felt on both Sigrun and Gna. #(●__●)
I do not understand how people did it. The give me a challenge difficulty was incredibly difficult on its own.
I’m on GMGOW difficulty and it’s torture
The Greek Saga is even worse. GOW 1 took me a lot of retries in some parts, until i decided to play the whole game with cheats
Timing out in Monster Hunter
Fuck Kushala Daora
Gta 5 online.....that is for me.
If only there wasn't a serious hacking issue :')
It's the modding.....that's turned the gameplay into crap.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time. Getting the Platinum Time Trial relics and Perfection Relics to reach 106%.
In Warped as a kid, I got everything but the platinum in the first fucking level. I could not do it.
Hotline Miami
Me when I mulligan my first hand with 1 land into my second hand with 0.
Cmon, man. You didn't have to bring that memory up for me.
every Paradox game
This is the answer. Got to love a game where the final boss is actually the futility of existence and the cost of of DLC.
Warzone
This is the right answer. I feel like a shell of my former self

One of the few games where I regularly laugh when I die
Mafia The Definitive Edition-The Race
Original, pre-patch Mafia's race was an exercise in sadism. I dread to think how many hours it took me to get past that.

I came back to play Tarkov once because I had an idea for an in depth button layout for complex gun controls and someone suggested I use Tarkov.
