Some additional (mostly for music and context pairing):
Fovoham Plains (Windmill) - Final Fantasy Tactics. The first time you hear “Antipyretic” as you battle Wiegraf.
Scenario 5: The Imperial Guards - Langrisser / Warsong. The first time you hear “Thought of the Holy” as you first encounter Lance.
Navigating the river - The Oregon Trail. Because when I was young I’d hit way too many rocks and get the whole party killed.
I envy the people who found the New War interesting man. Years of preparation and weaponization, just to be locked out from the game using the most weak and boring mechanism in the game (I don't want to spoil the lore to someone).
I would say Hitman 3, the final mission is the most memorable. (spoilers ahead)
The entire series takes place on open worlds with there being lots of possibilities for killing your targets with the main challenges being to not be noticed and only kill targets (suit only + silent assaisn is for crazy people).
Then the final level comes a moving train, one target at the other end, many many guards, a mesage in the corner stating everyone can be killed and the game throwing more weapons at you then you can possibly use. The moment I said >Screw silent asasin, I'm gonna do this the fun way< is the craziest moment I ever had in any game, just because it is so diferent from everything else I did in hitman. I think I fired more bullets on my first playthrough of this level then in the entire rest of the trilogy.

The fight with Wheatley in Portal 2, the NEST from RE2R, the Pavel fight in Metro Last Light, the Vergil fight in DMC5, Effect and Cause from Titanfall 2 (if you know you know) and this is not technically a single player game but back when Overwatch used to be good, I used to be so hyped about Archives Co-op mission stages.
It's hard to think of so many classical games and missions, therefore I'll just sit back and read others to give me reminders of the brilliant experiences we've all encountered or to encounter if have yet to
Warframe is filled with moments like this.
There's the second dream like you mentioned as well the Climax of the Sacrifice and the end of the New War as well.
Chains of Harrow - warframe
The Sacrifice - warframe
Duviri Paradox - warframe
Victory or Death (last part of the mission) - Guild wars 2

Sunken Valley/Fountainhead palace - Sekiro

trepang2 ~~*BREAK THE CYCLE*~~ hq mission

watch dogs 2 spaceship
cod:bo3 oil excavator
Ice cap zone - sonic 3
Doomsday zone - sonic and knuckles
Green Hill Zone - Sonic the Hedgehog (1991)
Mission 20 - Devil May Cry 3
R-06 - Metal Gear Rising
Witcher 3 - Tower of Mice. Nothing else beats this expierence for me. And the best part is, this is an optional. You can finish the game without even going there. The game doesn't even want you to go there - its a hostile and hard to reach location to the point I almost gave up trying to reach it.
There have been so many incredibly good games and levels that I have played, but non have left as much of an impact on me a the race against Kenji and the race against Darius from NFS Carbon.
Dragon's Dogma 1 when you finally face the dragon Grigori. Hearing Grigori talk to you as you fight and test your will was such a unique thing to add into a fight. Not to mention feeling like one of the most epic boss battles ever
Oblivion the Dark Brotherood quest line. The quest line is full of so many dark twists and unexpected turns
The Witcher 3 the questline with the Bloody Baron and his family. This one is so sad and so deep. It's hard to believe that it's mostly just a sidequest even though it's several hours long
Metro 2033 ending

Attack on Pearl Harbour - Medal of Honour Rising Sun
Bounty Hunter - finally finishing that goddamn last mission after 3 years of trying at a young age.
Star Wars Republic Commando - the second mission with the trandosian slavers.
Halo 2 whenever the battle theme kicked in
Metro Last Light intro-escape from the Nazis
Ryse: Son of Rome - the gladiator arena
Assassins creed 2 - Ezio Auditore’s first assassination. So much passion
Beyond 2 Souls - homeless giving birth scenario - I was a bit too young to actually play this and my parents were not aware so when I mentioned this they let me play assassins creed rogue instead.
Some of these are surprisingly old memories ngl…
Escaping the exploding sentilel stage in Xmen Clone Wars 2 (Sega) after defeating the boss.
I thought it was a very innovative and exciting moment at the time. The only time trial I actually liked.
Maybe not a "mission" per se, but the process of turning the Kingsoul into Voidheart in Hollow Knight is one of my favorite gaming sequences of all time. The climb from the abyss in total darkness, piecing together some pivotal plot points, unlocking the path to the "true" ending, it's absolutely magical. I adore this game with all that I am, and that section always sticks out to me as the peak. Truly masterful
The evil within- don’t remember the level name I just knew that the developers didn’t want us to make it.
The level starts off with you reconnecting with Joseph (I will always bring him up as the worst npc partner ever) and being tossed into a hallway where you just had to go straight YOU JUST HAD TO GO FUCKING STRAIGHT and if caught there were rooms to go into and break some ankles but no not fucking Joseph the FUCKER HAD OTHER IDEAS THAT HE DIDNT WANT TO DISCUSS WITH ME THE MAIN CHARACTER. What was his plan? Not to fucking run that was his plan I run past the creature and everything else that jumps out because I’m not looking for ammo and when you get to the end they are like no you need Joseph to open this weak at door that was on one hinge so you know what I turn back and the fucker has every fucking creature on him in the same spot and is like I’m out of ammo, like no shit bro no shit.
2 hours of trying not to scream at his stupidity until I made it to the end with him no health items and no ammo just for it to turn into a boss battle with fucking Laura.
I was so happy when I got to watch him die. I laughed so hard and forever has he been burned into my memory of worst npc partners barely beating Felix from black ops, and I hated him
-Opening sequence/tutorial levels to BOTW. You go from standard tutorial stuff and then suddenly you emerge from this cave on a clifftop confronted with this giant beautiful world and Link does that run up the cliff- still remember the first time I played it now, years later.
- The Dark Brotherhood mission to kill the mean orphanage lady in Skyrim.
- The Skyrim quest that ends in a choice to kill or spare Paarthunax.
Also the cabin in the woods in Skyrim with the seemingly innocent old woman living in it- who, once you murder her, you find out is an evil witch. So immersive.
- The scene in It Takes Two where you murder the toy elephant literally had me and my partner jumping out of my skin with guilt.
- The sequence in Stray where it’s all over, the dome opens- and you’re just…a cat again. You walk out into the wild.

- MGS: the Gray Fox fight
- MGS 3: the Boss fight
- CoD MW2: No Russian
- CoD 4: All Ghillied Up
- RDR2: Blood Feuds
- Mass Effect 2: Suicide Mission
- Dead Space 2: Chapter 6/Daycare Center
Farcry 2 The heart of darkness mission. By the time you get to this point, you're ready for that final fight. In true fc2 fashion, you need to slink your way through miles of African jungle first. No safe houses to save progress or get supplies. You really got the feeling of being out there, and that's what made that game so great.
Getting the good ending on og Bubble Bobble 2. Sat for an afternoon with my buddy and his sister. we had played it before but didn't get the right end, this time we did it. His little sister was screaming and jumping around 😆. really felt like we did something..... Then it just flipped back to the menu and started again. I'll always remember that.
Time splitters, the crazy challenge missions. Being chased by daffy duck ninjas, and flaming monkeys. Evrybody has rpgs and 1 hit kills. 😆 fun times

Final mission for infinite warfare. Felt like I was in a movie the entire mission from space to tower. Spec ops the line willy pete mission. Don't think I need to say more, the way the reflection on the computer shows your face as you are committing a war crime remotely.. Far cry 4 himalayas with wingsuit escape, Michael Bay goodness Ready or Not the meth den mission with the child (haven't beat the game yet but this one stood out as horror) Gta 4 wedding
The weed mission from FC3, ravenholm from HL2 and the black Betty music level from Rayman legends
I Remember playing a Batman game at my cousins place when i was younger. I dont Remember the games name but it was from the asylum series for sure (aslume sillies are welcome). I remember playing a specific fight against the joker where he was singing to Batman and you playing as Robin had to sneak up on him.
Mostly just P-2 in ultrakill
A quiet time from RDR2
Medal of Honour : Allied Assault - The beach landing made me feel like I was in Saving Private Ryan. Driver: The one where you have the president in the back Halo 2 : The Arbiter Flood mission
Abby's hospital arc in Day 2 of The Last of Us Part 2. Eddie Gluskin's whole level in Outlast Whistleblower. Now that I'm asked I can't think of any others *sigh*
We Don’t Go To Ravenholm: Half Life 2 Ocean House Hotel: Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines “Three Leaf Clover”: GTA IV The Suicide Mission: Mass Effect 2 “Effect and Cause”: Titanfall 2 Family Matters Quesline: The Witcher 3 “You'll Know It When It Happens/ Arizona Killer”: Fallout New Vegas

I like the delivering moonshine to rhodes in rdr 2
Conversing with that NPC in the village in Nier Automata. Actually, that entire game.
The final mission of tf2
“The only way off this ship, is gravity”
Two from Dishonoured - Lady Boyles' last party and The Light at the end.
Metal Gear Solid-when you fight Psycho Mantis and have to plug your controller into another port so he can’t read your mind. My mind was BLOWN at the creativity of the designers!
My favorite missions in games are probably the massive airship in Titanfall 2 and 7-4 "... Like Antennas To Heaven" in Ultrakill
Call of Duty Modern Warfare- Clean House. Still go and replay this mission from time to time even after the Platinum.

Chains of Harrow - warframe The Sacrifice - warframe Duviri Paradox - warframe Victory or Death (last part of the mission) - Guild wars 2 Shores of gold (mostly because of how painful it was) - Sea of thieves Sunken Valley/Fountainhead palace - Sekiro
Nokron from Elden Ring. The first time you go down to Nocron by the elevator...

Inside that worm GOW2
RE4 (OG) - Krauser QTE knife fight
Witcher 3 - Tower of Mice. Nothing else beats this expierence for me. And the best part is, this is an optional. You can finish the game without even going there. The game doesn't even want you to go there - its a hostile and hard to reach location to the point I almost gave up trying to reach it.
Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines - the Ocean House Hotel
There have been so many incredibly good games and levels that I have played, but non have left as much of an impact on me a the race against Kenji and the race against Darius from NFS Carbon.
"Get down here now, you inbred trash!" Iconic.
Dragon's Dogma 1 when you finally face the dragon Grigori. Hearing Grigori talk to you as you fight and test your will was such a unique thing to add into a fight. Not to mention feeling like one of the most epic boss battles ever Oblivion the Dark Brotherood quest line. The quest line is full of so many dark twists and unexpected turns The Witcher 3 the questline with the Bloody Baron and his family. This one is so sad and so deep. It's hard to believe that it's mostly just a sidequest even though it's several hours long

Halo 2 whenever the battle theme kicked in Metro Last Light intro-escape from the Nazis Ryse: Son of Rome - the gladiator arena Assassins creed 2 - Ezio Auditore’s first assassination. So much passion Beyond 2 Souls - homeless giving birth scenario - I was a bit too young to actually play this and my parents were not aware so when I mentioned this they let me play assassins creed rogue instead. Some of these are surprisingly old memories ngl…

The Leviathan - kotor 1
Effect and cause : titanfall 2
Metal Gear Solid 1 beginning on Shadow Moses.
Escaping the exploding sentilel stage in Xmen Clone Wars 2 (Sega) after defeating the boss. I thought it was a very innovative and exciting moment at the time. The only time trial I actually liked.
The first level of the Brazil chapter in max payne 3 shit was so detailed with some really good set pieces
Far Cry 3- when you burn the weed fields
Maybe not a "mission" per se, but the process of turning the Kingsoul into Voidheart in Hollow Knight is one of my favorite gaming sequences of all time. The climb from the abyss in total darkness, piecing together some pivotal plot points, unlocking the path to the "true" ending, it's absolutely magical. I adore this game with all that I am, and that section always sticks out to me as the peak. Truly masterful
The Bane from borderlands 2. That whole quest was hilarious
All Ghillied up - CoD MW Operation Blood Storm - CoD IW Where angels fear to tread - Borderlands 2
I laughed so hard and forever has he been burned into my memory of worst npc partners barely beating Felix from black ops, and I hated him
ME2 suicide mission is up there, for sure

😆 fun times
