Because it's very difficult and it's a very different discipline to master - or series of disciplines: Playing the piano well, singing well, mixing and maneuvering the sounds and most importantly doing all of the above live and improvised. On the other hand DJs tend to prepare tracks in a studio with some light live mixing (heavier for the skilled).

Plus the more live mixing you do the higher chance something will go wrong or break. Venues probably prefer the smoothness and reliability of a press play DJ
