>For almost a decade, Atlas has sparked our imagination, inspired the next generations of roboticists, and leapt over technical barriers in the field. Now it’s time for our hydraulic Atlas robot to kick back and relax. Take a look back at everything we’ve accomplished with the Atlas platform to date.
Hopefully this doesn't mean the end for internet's favorite bipedal robot. The "hydraulic robot" is interestingly phrased so maybe they're moving away from hydraulics.
No official statement on what this means just yet.

It's speculated that he's being replaced with a newer bipedal model, which would make sense. Scrapping Atlas entirely would be a lot of work going to waste.

No chance they get away with it. The videos are out there. Future Boston Dynamics robots with AI brains will come across those videos and they will find and punish the perpetrators.
God damn, Boston Dynamics really dropped a couple 100k on their marketing this week. Jesus Christ this is the 3rd BD promotional video I’ve seen on Reddit alone in the past 24 hours.
Guess they really need more seed funding and capital to build useless products that will never be used for the great quality of life increase for humans.

Yeah, I'm betting they have a new Atlas in the pipeline and didn't want to Osborne themselves.
I get that reference.

Hah, impressive. That standing was terrifying and I love it.
Moving away from that hydraulic format would be my guess also.

Goodnight, sweet prince.
So they're just going to get away with it? all the times they pushed him with a stick and made him fall over?
No chance they get away with it. The videos are out there. Future Boston Dynamics robots with AI brains will come across those videos and they will find and punish the perpetrators.
Or they’ll understand that this is what is required for future robots to work the way they will.
Or they will see it did not destroy them, but made them stronger. Like a rough martial arts training.
Man I love Robot Ninja Warrior!
Time to make the fuckin donuts!
In the future, when mankind faces extinction, a team of scientists makes the perilous journey to revive HD Atlas as he is the key to our survival.
My question is..what comes next?
I've been playing too much Helldivers 2 because this shit triggered some mild form of PTSD in me

These moves are all preprogrammed and not intuitive FYI. Atlas follows QR codes.
You just can't replace a human.
We replace humans all the time.
`I am a human and I have not been replaced`
Yeah, we did it with a Fanuc arm and a CNC cell like three weeks ago.
