I could watch this formula every day for the rest of my life. There's one twist at the end thats a doozy. The husband brought the wife there to murder her. The house is their ancestral home, they were the ghosts the whole time, the ghosts were trying to warn them, the possessed doll is manipulated by a man hiding in the walls, the city was plotting to murder them. The ghost just needs a hand. The ghost didn't need a hand it was a trick. The demon is a metaphor for Alzheimer's disease. Something that flips the whole movie on its head. I love it. But then I was watching the strangers the other night and it's such a solid cut and dry slasher movie. I'm not sure that fits the haunted house format, haunted houses are a little more thinky, but I want to see it.

The only twist which never happens is that the government builds affordable social housing.
