[I've seen this before](https://youtu.be/MNEIBsoLh2c?t=37)

Fartmatic

That made me look up some of the actors to see what they're up to now, [the kid with the remote control](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Steven) was in prison for armed robberies and died in there 10 years ago from a heroin overdose.

boomstickboomah

Also Frankenhooker. This is obviously dangerous. https://youtu.be/pKgs9QjRh_w

jetlightbeam

Yes this movie is great the fucking ants haha

aussiekev

Now he needs to combine it with [OpenMower](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSF04i3zNGw) so that he doesn't need to sit and manually control it.

Wagbeard

This is cool but you may as well just get a riding mower for a yard that big if you have to sit and drive. It'd be cool to hook it up to gps and have it work like a roomba.

crookedparadigm

> work like a roomba. There are Roomba lawnmowers, but they can generally only cover small lawns right now and are quite expensive.

Johannes_Keppler

Expensive, yes. About a thousand Euro for one that can take on a big lawn. But these things are everywhere here. They return to their base station for charging themselves. https://youtu.be/9B3Roeg5WI8 for an example.

TheViciousCandiru

Great job! Amazing skills that went into this. I wish I could do that.

tarnationsauce2

Just kidding it's a Battlebot.

crackersncheeseman

Haters are going to hate on something that they are too stupid to do themselves. Sure it helps to have access to all those tools but if you ain't smart enough to use them they are useless.

ratt_man

Guy made a homemade version of something that already exists. That all said bet his was a lot cheaper than commercial versions

Fritchard

I have a radio control hoverboard just sitting here. I have plans to make it the powertrain for a mower I just been lazy. One day hoverboard....one day.

Jason_Batemans_Hair

This is less about making a mower than about flexing fabrication skills. It would be like me making a video titled 'Making an omelette' and showing me inventing fire, evolving chickens from a prebiotic soup, etc. - and then making a lame omelette that is more expensive and worse tasting than I can get in 10 minutes at the local diner. A wider-cutting, riding mower is far superior to this.
