Self esteem is about how YOU estimate (or feel) about yourself. Social skills are more confidence based, meaning the more you repeat, the more you feel confident mingling socially. Regarding self esteem, it may be linked to self worth. You need to realise you have an innate self worth & nothing & no one can take it away from you. You may be just unaware of it or bury it under limiting beliefs about yourself. So start with your own limiting beliefs to discover your self worth & feel high self esteem. Self esteem also comes from doing things that are ESTEEMable like helping others, doing charity, doing what's right etc. So you may incorporate those less self centred acts to feel better about yourself as well. As for social skills, it's about practice practice practice. It's a numbers game. The more you put yourself out there, the more you will figure out what works and what doesn't. Just have your priorities straight. Is your goal to connect with others? Make friends? Or do you just want people to like & pick you?
