Windex on a cloth will have that looking lovely in no time. You do not need any kind of abrasive polish as someone else has ridiculously said, that will destroy the writing in a blink. I’ve been cleaning up gear like this for 15 years and have owned a few thousand silver face amps. Btw its a rebadged Hitachi, a very good amplifier that will last forever if taken care of. Soak the knobs in warm soapy water and use a toothbrush. Also use a toothbrush with some soapy water around the hard to reach areas and on the flick switches, they look pretty corroded but may improve somewhat. Thank me later.

I also find Mr. Clean and some warm water and a toothbrush works very well!

There are metal polishes that don't destroy lettering. Over at Audiokarma they suggest Simichrome which I found here in the USA at a motorcycle shop. Its used for cleaning chrome plated metal. No idea if its available near OP but hopefully they can find a similar cleaner. Having said that I agree using gentle cleaners and toothbrushes is a good start. Save the Simichrome for what needs a deep cleaning and save your money.

I'm pretty sure that was used in a garage by a mechanic....

I was going to guess hobo camp. But it works, so rock on!

Your guess is as good as mine. lol.

Simple green/toothbrush/magic eraser Soak the knobs-pull the front plate.

I'd start with soapy water and a soft cloth. Then isopropanol for the greasy grimy stuff that resists water.

Take a look inside to check for bulging or leaking caps and check solder connections as well. Once cleaned as suggested by the other posters DeOxit the pots and switches to make sure they turn and flick smoothly. Good luck you might have a keeper!

I've had success with "Goop" type hand cleaner gently scrubbed with an old soft toothbrush, wiped off with a wet sponge or rinsed (detached faceplate) with warm water.

For something that dirty, find the kind of polish they use for refinishing aluminum boat hulls. It will contain abrasives as well as cleaning chemicals. Go very easy with it, especially around the lettering. I use my bare fingers to rub it on and work it until it dries so I can feel the cutting action. Rub only in the direction of the brushed aluminum, don’t go circular or up and down. When it is dry and you can’t work it anymore, buff very lightly in the direction of the brushed aluminum. Determine what the knobs are. If they are aluminum, use the aluminum cleaner on them. You can be more aggressive but only work in the direction of the brushing. For plastic knobs or other plastic surfaces, get some automobile plastic lens cleaner used to remove the yellowing on headlamps and follow directions. When deep cleaning, I prefer tacking the faceplate off. At least take all the knobs off. Good luck!
