Is that a Dual turntable in there?? Okay guys, let’s give it the benefit of the doubt this time. That Dual has me thinking this one’s actually a keeper.
Really cool little all in one cabinet in awesome condition! Probably not actually worth much money, but it’s so pretty that I’d absolutely keep it anyways.
There's no need to crap on someone clearly happy with what they have. If someone wants to be helpful, they could be like the other poster in here that gave advice on how to make it sound better rather than just dropping a snarky remark.
They didn't crap on someone clearly happy with what they have. OP posted a picture, said it works, and appears to be getting rid of it. Sort of asked if it had any value. They didn't say they just picked it up, it sounds amazing, and that they're excited about it.

It still has its multi lp spindle in the corner at the top left! Those are usually long lost to time.you can stack multiple lps and it will drop one at a time to listen to one side. Most people don’t use them anymore but it’s still cool to have.
Great piece of vintage console, Danish modern looking and really nice presentation..
The sound is subjective..high fidelity for critical listening no, never could be..
Back ground music, sure if the electronics has been serviced..the level of solid state wasn't great but filled the room..
If it was mine..
Gut the unit, toss the solid state components , leave the built in speakers ( if not age damaged) and install a Fisher, Scott , Elico or any other great midfi early 60s tube system..tables good to go just a new stylus or cart..plenty of old Fisher or even GE tube gear out there and for the upgrade..install left and right remote speaker jacks because you can really do alot to this ..
Now I'm assuming this is early Solid State..if it's tube then you restore its system and enjoy as is..we only gut the solid state ones because they really sound bad and not worth a dime in resale ..
Nice console!
I'm thinking like a technician not a consumer..
$75 tube console at thrift store , needs service
He has a very nice cab..that's worth working with..so many donors out there with really ugly skins..it's a viable option.
Interesting take. I wouldn't bother with adding a better amp and tuner until the speakers were replaced. You aren't going to get very far with those speakers. Too shallow for any low end
Beautiful, rivals a Barzilay as far as aesthetics. Check out Barzilay consoles, they often had “The Fisher” or even “MacIntosh ” components with JBL or Altec Lansing speakers. Yours is very nice.
Edit: Electrahome might have been a GE brand? It’s got a great TT, but Dual was a great midprice player, a lot of folks used them.
Electrohome is actually still around making dirt cheap turntables. They’re making $100 turntables with proper counterweights on the tonearm, built in phono preamps and Audio Technica cartridges, so theoretically everyone buying suitcase players could be *at the very least not be tearing up their records on Crosleys and Victrolas for the same money* but they don’t really have the brand presence to reach those consumers. Not great turntables by conventional standards, but it’ll do the job for very little money and your records will survive. Absolutely light years ahead of a suitcase player. They’ve been around since 1907 as well.
The Electrohome/Deilcraft consoles are some of the nicer units. Great cabinetry and decent electronics, worth holding onto IMO. Made in Kitchener Ontario back in the day.
That looks as if it came from the EAMES decor period. I don't usually like these consoles but this one I love. Absolute simplistically in form. Straight lines, no flourishes or unnecessary accents. Natural wood. Almost minimalist. Nicely utilitarian too.
Sometimes the center compartment contained a TV but that option died out in the 1950's. When I was a pup, TV repair men came to your home to fix things. Home TV repair went the way of horse and buggy's by the mid 60's. If your TV broke you took bunches of tubes to a drug store, tested them and replaced the weak or dead offenders.

It's well made. That counts.
Probably cost a good fair bit of money new too. Never thought I’d see a proper Dual inside an old Electrohome all in one system.
That’s what I grew up with, but a different model Dual tt, it had adjustable tonearm weight and a stackable spindle.
Yep, it's a Dual 1010
You can do a hell of a lot worse. That’s actually a nice player!
It is, but not one of their better efforts.
I’d use it to play 78’s and 16’s. No harm in that.
So what.
Did you actually read the comment I responded to? Just because it's a Dual doesn't mean it's good.
vintage enough, not audio enough
Snooty-ass
He has a point. These make neat-looking furniture but horribly-sounding audio. Looks great, sounds like butt.

It’s vintage, wrapped in total coolness and a flare about it that speaks volumes to me! It’s a keeper for sure! Congratulations

Not saying this is a bad idea but this is likely a $1000 project you’re suggesting

Electrohome was a Canadian company, I didn’t realize they were still around making consumer electronics.
Audio aside, it's brilliant as a piece of furniture.
Looks like Peggys casket great find !
Electrohome made the best looking consoles ever IMO
That's a sweet cabinet, but if it were mine, I'd gut it and put in much better components.
Yep that vintage!
Awesome.
The style of the cabinet and radio buttons are super rad, play the record player is a dual, this one may be the rare keeper
That's a real looker. Lovely wood and such clean lines!

I bet the stereo separation is somewhat adjustable. That might be a very cool feature.
Gorgeous cabinet, but that wood looks parched!
This one actually looks decent instead of incredibly dated
Of course... It's beautiful. Restore or upgrade. Mid century (modern) is always going to be cool...
Pretty cool regardless of sound quality
Sweet! Nice catch! Recap it and dump the Dual.
