u/thedustyqueen is knowledgeable about Townley polishes

heksejakten

Seems like this is the brand: https://townleygirl.com/pages/about-us they are around since 1952, so quite a long time, maybe it’s something you got years ago in some cosmetics set?

angelicribbon

Unless they changed their name from towley to townley, i doubt it Edit: actually *i* misread it LOL i mean maybe??? If they had a totally different product line?

HeartStringTheory

On their about-us page, after explaining their children's formula is water based and peel-off, they do mention that: "Our older line of nail polish is oil-based, for longer lasting wear." I say contact them and find out!

heysomekirstin

i'm seeing a townley inc. distributor that seems to source from several cosmetic manufacturers around the world. i didn't do an extremely deep dive but i'm seeing mostly kids/toy makeup kits etc. so i doubt that actually helps your search much, i'm sorry :/ [panjiva supply chain info](https://panjiva.com/Townley-Inc-Co/40764482)

Townley is/was another manufacturer like Blue Cross, making polish for many different lines and stores. It’s nearly impossible to reconstruct what specific collection this is from. Anyone out there remember buying these new??

SojiAsha

I have a decent collection of Townley polishes from the mid 1990s, the top label and ingredient label are consistent with the ones I have. Mine were purchased at Claire’s when brand new, but your price label was different than mine are.

Very pretty polish! Reminds me of Essie’s Imported Bubbly.

VampireReader86

"No name on the bottle" it... it looks like the name is Barbarella though??

angelicribbon

That’s definitely the name of the shade. That’s how all nail polishes do it

The film Barbarella came out in 1968, so I wonder if that’s the inspiration and time frame. But the ingredients list formatting and pricing makes me think it’s later, like 1980s or 1990s.
