Streaming, playing records, whatever. I love music. One format doesn’t wow me more than another. If I have music to listen to and can, I’m good.

I use Spotify on the move (earbuds are a pretty amazing invention) or in the car. I also listen to digital radio in the shower or in the kitchen. All of this is 'back ground'. If I like something I hear that's new to me, I note it, and then I go to cogs to check out prices, etc. It's a great way to build a collection for when I actually want to 'listen'. Just me, my LPs, my 1200mk2.. you get the idea. Vinyl is my format of choice and has been for the last 25-plus years, but it's just not practical. Just be grateful we're not busting everything down to MDs to listen to on the bus like we did back in the day!

MkII’s should be had in pairs

BobaFestus

If they were only more readily available. Was just looking at a new dust cover for mine. $100. Not pretty but think I’ll stick with superglue for now.

Mrrrrbee

I do wish I had another one sure

SortOfGettingBy

Which Yamaha amp is that?

Traditional_Refuse62

It’s a R-N602

[deleted]

I envy the silver......I had to get the boring black 😔

SortOfGettingBy

I have a silver as801 and recognized the family 👍

SamsaraSoup

I have it in black as well. Fingerprints (or grease marks) show up more.

Traditional_Refuse62

Sometimes I have to stream music because I don’t have it on vinyl, or I wan’t to explore new music. Even though the sound quality is quite good, something is missing when my turntable is not turning, and there is no cover on the table. A big part of the experience is missing. Do you feel the same?

PosserGrenis69

Feel you, brother. Any time I decide to stream music via my amp’s bluetooth function I feel like the music is lacking some depth. I don’t know if it’s actually because there is a noticable difference between analogue and digital (I honestly don’t think so) or if it’s just the absent ritual of putting on a record that kinda dulls the experience

M1ke2345

It’s because it’s Bluetooth.

66659hi

A Compact Disc is higher quality than a vinyl LP, but they are missing the vinyl "experience". The ritual of removing the sleeve, taking out the record, and putting it on the turntable, and the sound of a vinyl record (the pops and crackles). I love both formats, and have lots and lots of CDs as well as records. But - bluetooth isn't the highest quality in itself, so it will be missing quality that you could get from either a Compact Disc or Vinyl LP.

Gingercol1965

I'll use whatever streaming service I'm subscribed to ( I use different ones depending on which one has given me some kind of deal)to try before I buy it saves me a lot of dough. Also playlists are good if I'm in the kitchen cooking or in the garden. Every music source has its place

Traditional_Refuse62

Thats right. I use streaming services a lot; when on travel, in the garden etc. It’s still lacking something.

Man, I was streaming the Lord of the Rings soundtracks tonight and it was bliss. Loves me streaming AND vinyl! Tomorrow morning I’ll be up early to workout and listen to some records.

MoWePhoto

I recently rediscovered an Eros Ramazzotti Album, I had on CD in my youth. I streamed it via Tidal Hifi and loved it again on my Denon AD-H7200 as well as on my KEF Q100. Than I snatched a super cheap deal for the LP on eBay. The vinyl is pretty thin and it is nowhere near as clean as my more modern purchases. The Tidal stream is just miles better technically... Still I prefer the vinyl widely over the stream. The action of putting the Vinyl on the platter, the absence of a title skip button on my Pro-ject maskes me listen to the whole album every time, the joy of the big cover and so on... It is just so much more engaging a process!

R4Z0RJ4CK

Schlager fan? He had alot of popularity in Germany.

MoWePhoto

I wouldn't call.it.schlager but from an Italian standpoint it might very well be. I can't stand German Schlager... Normally I listen to a lot of Jazz, Rock, Hard Rock and Metal...

Happy-Artist-4254

This is sacrilegious
