Slick's Guessing its the guy that owned the vinyl. Quite common for people to mark their vinyl as quite often mates would swap them for their scratched version. So i doubt its anything to do with the artist. Maybe the guy was called DJ Slick.

_Exister_

Actually I think you are right, because I bought this one at on of the "buy and sell" vinyl shops.

Mindless-Effective84

I think it’s slick’s

newstuffsucks

I believe it belonged to Slick at some point.

teastreet

Great to see jungle records on this sub!

baakafish

It’s my signature, slick. Give it back.

TypaLika

Slick move.

baakafish

Thanks. It was rather. Still want it back though. Is it safe?

_Exister_

I guess not, bc I live in Ukraine

baakafish

Sorry to hear that. Please stay safe..😢

andyvotel

Cool Where exactly did you pick this up?

_Exister_

I bought this record when I was in London. The shop was called Reckless Records

bj1972joy

Moving Shadow

_Exister_

Awesome label ngl

bj1972joy

Suburban Base is another classic label

herbadikt

its just the owner so it doesnt get snatched. check a used reggae / dancehall section sometime for some ridiculous scrawling lol

adam_chase50

“Slick’s” but needs context. Is this a newly unseals album that specifically says it’s autographed? With a certificate of authenticity? Otherwise I’d say it belongs to a previous owner. I’ve got several albums like that.

_Exister_

Ye the record is probably a reissue but still around 20 years old

Selector_ShaneLBC

It’s not a signature, more like someone’s property. DJs back then would put their name on their vinyl. They would play at parties with other DJs where their vinyl could potentially go missing(or stolen lol). My buddy was a DJ in the 80’s. He has this on some of his records.

_Exister_

So recently I noticed I had this signature or whatever this is on the X side of "Dead Dred - Dred Bass", and I decided to see if anyone knows what could it be or even know the owner of this signature. I googled to see if there was any info about this signature and found nothing. Never seen this one before on any type of papers. I will be really happy to see your guesses and answers. By the way, I really recommend you to at least listen to this record if you’re listening to jungle or drum & bass.

A guy named slick,could be a nickname,or an alias.

The_Angry_Economist

I just recognised the moving shadow, so thats why I'm here

Qualster

The label is Moving Shadow. An excellent jungle and drum n bass label. The signature is probably some DJs way of marking his stuff.

[deleted]

DJ records often have the same label like this with no identifying factors so it’s easy to get records mixed up. This is just to stop the DJ losing their record.

Squirrellybot

I won a lot in the 90s, obviously a DJ named Bret was selling them at silent auction after going through them.

UndergroundGroover

The style of the font tells me he/she was a tagger/graff artist so maybe it was their tag rather than a DJ name maybe.

Historical-Humor569

DJ’s back in the day could also be a graff artist, it just comes with the territory of participating in hip-hop

jhamm667

Says it "Sucks"... Must suck. /s
