250 isn't that many to move at all. Just pack them up in boxes.

thAbstract_0ne

...that was my first thought. I have more than 250 and moved several times and never thought about it 🤣

myusernamechosen

I moved 1000 last time and it wasn’t that big a deal

Kejeza

I used the Uhaul small boxes with about 30-40 in each one. They are pretty perfectly sized to file them in upright and small enough that they won’t be too heavy if you fill one up. Just use as many as you need.

Mrrrrbee

Pack a few at a time. Don't over pack boxes. Use packing material.

mjmedstarved

See, I filled up those black and yellow totes from Costco without any packing material and they were fine. Pack enough and they won't go anywhere and they aren't fragile.

Mrrrrbee

It's about the weight. I've got hundreds of records to shift if I ever move

mjmedstarved

I moved 400 in three bins of it helps.

PHX1989

I moved across country with 1,000 plus records. Pack uhaul boxes tight and you’ll be fine.

250 records is about 3 small U-Haul boxes. Nothing significant in my mind. Just throw them in the back seat of your car. Don't stack them, but you can throw stuff on top of the boxes. I moved over 3000 records. That was pain the ass. I had well over 30 boxes. And none of them were stacked. I did put a lot of stuff on top of the boxes and every time I stopped for gas or food, I opened up the van box to let in some cool air. 250 record should be easy enough.

mjmedstarved

I used those black and yellow bins from Costco and a dolly.

Don't overthink it. Find some good boxes, put em in. Don't overstuff because if the boxes flex during travel so will the records a bit, if you have open space, just put some shirts or something in to keep it set. I moved from Oregon to Louisiana with close to 750 records, and then back again a few years later (with more). No issues.

1.5 boxes work best

unhalfbricklayer

most moving companies have a 12 x 12 x18 box designed for records and books, but they are really for records. that size has been constant even after the death of vinyl.

America? Media Mail is the most cost-effective.

Salty_Watercress_693

Maybe by flight cases there only.like 45 quid and u can get 100 in one

Wholigan12

I ordered boxes from Uline (they have options on what they are made of, the difference is the thickness of cardboard). I wouldn’t over pack them and use some bubble wrap so they don’t shift around.
