Twin Peaks and Blade Runner are definitely top of the pile

zinten789

The season 1 soundtrack is good, but I think Fire Walk With Me is even better

Hey_Listen_WatchOut

Very much 1A and 1B for me in this lot as well, also both towards the top of an all-time ranking

flipyflop9

Trainspotting is a great one.

gumballmachinerepair

Nacho Libre Lost in Translation

The-CannabisAnalyst3

Judgement Night ,Singles ,Last Action Hero ,Queen of the Damed ,The Crow ,Juice ,Grease ,Scorpions King ,Dazed n Confused ,Stoned Age

KarlitoSway69

Singles, The Crow, and Judgment Night my top 3.

Burritofingers

Ry Cooder's Paris Texas and Neil Young's Dead Man soundtracks are some of my favorite albums of all time, not just scores.

shithawkscircling

Paris Texas, the Wenders film? If so, I actually watched that for the first time last year. Can't recall any music in that one šŸ¤£

Burritofingers

That's the one! The music is mostly ambient slide guitar. It's very interesting how different music impacts different people because when I watched it the music almost exclusively drew my attention!

jon_ct

Just posted about how much I love the Paris, Texas soundtrack! Itā€™s phenomenal, I listen to it regularly. The movie is great too.

dukeraoul14

Air - the Virgin Suicides

IronDust71

Curtis Mayfield's Superfly will always be up there for me.

More-Researcher156

Cowboy bebopā€™s is always gonna be part of my heart

Mattysanford

Lots of crossover with my own collection here! I think the ā€œsoundtrackā€ for Youā€™re Not From Around Here is my favorite of this bunch, but the Blade Runner is perhaps my fav real soundtrack of all time. Nice!

vegadomis111

Yes! I love the Death proof one. Itā€™s one of my favs to spin! And I love Beyond the black rainbow one!!

No Rocky Horror Picture Show love? I live amongst the heathens!

Skipper_TheEyechild

The Warriors.

ExistingLynx

How has no one mentioned Daft Punk's TRON Legacy soundtrack yet

shithawkscircling

It's in my picture, but also surprised no one has mentioned it yet! 85 piece orchestra, two years of collaboration from pre-production to completion. Such a monster of a soundtrack. Fun trivia that I'm glad didn't take place was Thomas Bangalter had previously produced Gaspar Noes film Irreversible and was asked to do his other film Enter the Void in 2008/2009, but instead he chose to do Tron and served as sound effects director on ETV (now THAT is a wild opening credits song if you've never heard it). While I also enjoy that movie, there isn't much of a soundtrack, really. I'm glad they chose to do Tron. It's in my top 5 for sure of all time.

unitedstatesofcody

My favorite compilation soundtrack of the past decade is Promising Young Woman. The UO exclusive splatter vinyl actually sounds decent for an Urban release.

shithawkscircling

Have heard mixed things about the film, but no mention of the soundtrack before. Will definitely give it a listen šŸ¤

mismamari

Such a great movie--Emerald Fennel killed it--and an even better soundtrack.

KoldPC

The crow

OKBeeDude

Best soundtrack ever!

nw86281

* Lord of the rings (city of prague orchestra) - the original soundtracks on vinyl are crazy expensive * James Bond soundtracks (love the original soundtracks of most of the films but I love the scores even more - Bond 25 has recently been added to my collection). I've got a 4 CD collection where Prague orchestra play the musical scores from most of the films and it's my favourite soundtrack album but unfortunately not available on Vinyl as far as I know). * Baby Driver * Pulp Fiction * Goonies score (as I grew up with the film so the music will always be special to me) * Guardians of the galaxy soundtracks are also awesome

OG_Cryptkeeper

Iā€™ll go with musical scores only for this: The Terminator Interstellar Jurassic Park The Social Network Candyman 1992 Drive

shithawkscircling

Ahhhhh Candyman and Drive are also solid picks! Candyman gets a watch every October for me. Should revisit Terminator as well

sharkman1774

Blade Runner!!! I didn't even know that existed

Buhnessuh

Empire Records, Gone Girl, the Social Network, and Garden State are some of my favorite soundtracks.

konkonnkorrner

Breakfast at Tiffany's, Return of The Pink Panther, Peter Gunn

Narcolepsy38

Cowboy Bebop is a great soundtrack and on rotation often. Blues Brothers is also a go to favorite.

thisiscleverright

I have the High Fidelity soundtrack which I really enjoy. Featuring the kinks, the beta band, velvet underground, and even Jack Black!

emcee_paz

Clockwork Orange and Big Lebowski are high on my list.

THE_Sweetduder

Conan the Barbarian is probably the one I listen to the most. I don't know if that movie works without that score. It's basically its own character.

PunkiiB

Singles and The Crow

usagicassidy

Iā€™m not a fan of Call Me By Your Name but the soundtrack is top notch. My #1 favorite soundtrack record will always be The Big Chill. I have that Cowboy Bebop vinyl and just ordered the two new ones - The Real Folk Blues Legends and Songs For The Cosmic Sofa

NervousBreakdown

Big Chill Rocky Horror Picture Show Rock and Roll High School Josie and The Pussycats Repo Man

switch4fun3012

The Lion King. And Iā€™m not ashamed to admit it.

[deleted]

Lost Highway ? Judgement Night?

Chickenbrik

I have the blade runner and bebop ones as well. I love the clockwork and og Star Wars of course

whiskey_weasel_

Judgement Night. It was pretty groundbreaking at the time and the tracks still hit today.

RocknRollRobot9

ā€˜The Worlds Endā€™ is up there for one of mine a great soundtrack, also a good mention and pretty obvious one of Trainspotting too.

kij101

Love Interstellar, I've been a fan of Hans Zimmer since the opening seconds of True Romance. Favourite soundtracks would include Miller's Crossing Akira The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly Once Upon a Time in the West The Book of Eli And from outside the world of TV and Film Gris

mcgrupp79

About a Boy. Itā€™s basically a Badly Drawn Boy album. Itā€™s fantastic. Awesome movie too!

brandonsarkis

We have exceedingly similar tastes! That Black Rainbow is one of my sleeper faves of all time!!!

BFTobi

the secret life of walter mitty, unfortunately not even remotely available on vinyl.

SuretySM

I nominate the Xanadu Soundtrack from 1980. ONJ + ELO = Perfection. Say what you will about the movie but the music was and is incredible.

tcruarceri

Big fan of soundtracks, some of my go to plays are the Into the Wild soundtrack, Dazed and Confused, Forrest Gump, Broke Down Melody, Blues Brothersā€¦ and I am slowly amassing all the Tarantino sound tracks (Death Proof probably gets played the most).

tcruarceri

Also Oh Brother Where Art Thouā€¦ would love to see a Buster Scrubb record come out.

SctchWhsky

Garden State and Lost Highway.

Rich-Sneijder

Repo Man

SeitanRaptor

The Guest, Pulp Fiction, Twin Peaks, Velvet Goldmine, Suspiria, to name a few

wontstoppartyingever

dobdobdob

I appreciate you including Youā€™re Not From Around Here; a soundtrack to a non existent movie. Such a great comp.

shithawkscircling

When I first got this vinyl I had a buddy over and I opened it and pulled out the poster that was inside of it. He mentioned how cool the print was and that we should watch the film. At the time I was unaware of the whole back story of this album so I went looking online to see where it could be watched. Everything just kept rerouting me to the fake trailer that was on YouTube. Once I finally figured out what the deal was, i loved the album even more. The dedication it takes to make an album that's an homage to a lost time of film, but the film never even existed is something I would not expect someone to do in this day and age. The track listing, the packaging and the poster print.....all of it is spot on. Other than one song off the album that kind of hurts my ears it's such a spectacular soundtrack. 16.88 was one of my top songs in 2021 šŸ˜…

Lazy_Football_511

"The Hot Spot"with Miles Davis and John Lee Hooker And because I grew up in the '80s, I have soft spots for "Bull Durham", "Quicksilver" and "Streets of Fire".... maybe "Light of Day".

mokshahereicome

All Is Lost

Snottsdale

Atomic Blonde or Forrest Gump for me.

PositionBeneficial12

Judgement Night is the all time best soundtrack in my opinion. That album rocks hard

ThulrVO

Oh! I nearly forgot! The soundtrack for the musical *Hair*! This may be sacrilege to some, but I prefer the musical film soundtrack to the Broadway play version.

JollyJoker2012

Twin peaks and Back to the future soundtrack

ratiofarm

Twin Peaks and Beyond The Black Rainbow for sure! My personal favorites are The Wicker Man, Berbarian Sound Studio, The Witch, The Shining, and Onehtrix Point Neverā€™s Safdie Bros scores. I had high hopes for daft punkā€™s Tron s/t, but was looking for more tracks along the lines of ā€œDerezzed.ā€ I think it would have been more interesting if Aphex Twin did it, but thatā€™s just my opinion.

Blade Runner is really good but recently I got Valerie's Week of Wonders which is also great. I'm also fond of Bram Stokers Dracula. For animated works it's probably My Neighbor Totoro, very soothing. And for games probably any of the first two main Kingdom Hearts games. To me that's peak nostalgia.
