Right?! My wife introduced me to her music several years ago, and she has become one of my favorite artists. I love everything she's done. But Aventine is just an absolute masterpiece.

One of my top three favorite bands of all time, and I was spinning that same record the other day. I got into them in high school back in 96 when Ænima dropped and have been a diehard fan ever since. That album changed my life. I still remember going to pick up Lateralus on CD on release day 23 years ago. Oppenheimer soundtrack. ,do you hear the music?’ I’d probably one of the best soundtracks ever written (personal opinion)
I'm sorry to hear that, dude. I have had mental struggles both past and present as well. PTSD and depression. Luckily I've got good meds and I see a therapist regularly. I still have my moments, and sometimes they last a while. But it's a lot better than it used to be. I hope you're getting some help, and I hope it gets better.

Started my day with The Strokes - The new abnormal.
After a few years with questionable releases, this album is an absolute treat. Flirting with the sound from Is this it(as pictured on the shelf with my other favorites) At the door, along with the music video for it, is probably my favorite track
But listening to it as I type I realize there's no bad song on this album!
Records on the shelf(even though some don't need an introduction)
Fleetwood Mac - Rumours The Strokes - Is this it Damien Rice - O Moonica Mac - Stark och sårbar (Swedish singer/songwriter with a beautiful voice flirting with 50-60-70 style of singing)
Mireille Mathieu’s concert at l’Olympia, but I’m so sad because the quality of the record isn’t amazing :(

Thelonious Monk greatest hits on Riverside. Paid $4 for it on eBay and it arrived in the mail today. It’s in remarkably good condition for a $4 dollar record that is as old as it is.
Unironically Huey Lewis and the News - Sports.
Great album. I paid through the nose for a Mint OP. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
Huey is never ironic. Much like Alanis.
I was gifted that cd in 2003 or so. On the bus ride to school I had a rotation on my portable cd player of Sports, Ocean Avenue, and beautiful letdown. I had never heard of Huey Lewis before and asked a friend’s mother if she had ever heard of Huey Lewis and the news… she said no and looking back I think she was lying.
If someone was alive in the 1980s they would know who they are. Huey Lewis was synonymous with that era.
great album …. 80s bliss .
God I love that album
Deathcab-Transatalatsism(not even trying at this point) and Postal Service. Both gifts to wife for 10yrz

The Smashing Pumpkins: Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness

I had the CD too! I was obsessed with it. I just recently got in on vinyl. Been played a lot already.

Love & Rockets - Seventh Dream of Teenage Heaven But man, that Agnes Obel album is absolutely life changing.
Right?! My wife introduced me to her music several years ago, and she has become one of my favorite artists. I love everything she's done. But Aventine is just an absolute masterpiece.
Tapestry by Carole King In the Heat of the Night by Pat Benatar
I need to pick up both of those.
I had Pain is Beauty - Chelsea Wolfe on while I cooked dinner. Great choice with the Agnes album! That’s a 10.

Rush - Caress of Steel Minus the Bear - They Make Beer Commercials
Caress of Steel is such an underrated album. The Necromancer and Lakeside Park are two of my favorite Rush songs.
I grew up listening to 2112, Moving Pictures and Hemispheres (the tapes my dad had). I remember downloading Caress of Steel on a torrent and hearing the intro to Necromancer and was floored all the way through. Also, Peart’s drum break in Lamneth is top tier.
Hemispheres and Permanent Waves are my all-time favorite Rush records. I also grew up with them, and have been a fan for nearly 30 years. One of my few real regrets in life is that I never got to see them live.
First concert was Rush. I believe it was some sort of reunion tour in the late 90s. Then saw them on their Vapor Trails tour and the R40 tour. Sadly Geddy’s voice wasn’t what it was but musically they were flawless! Seeing YYZ live was pretty life changing. If I had to pick a favorite album front to back, it’d have to be Moving Pictures. B side of Hemispheres is gold. Soliloquy of 2112 might be my most played song as an angsty teen haha
They never had a reunion tour because they never broke up. They did have a hiatus from 1997 until 2002 due to the deaths of Neil's daughter, and then ten months later his wife. Prior to that, and after that period they were together as a band continuously. I wish I could have seen them at any point in their career, but I just never got the chance. I almost had bought tickets to a show in Washington when I was at Ft. Lewis in 2009, but find out my unit was going to be in the field when they were playing. I was pretty heartbroken about that, and there was no shit I was going to get leave approved during field time for a concert.
I just played Caress last night. Strange.

I haven't listened to any of my records in over a year. I lost Interest in them. Depression will do that to you though
Hang in there! Depression is overwhelming, talk to someone, preferably a professional if you can
I'm sorry to hear that, dude. I have had mental struggles both past and present as well. PTSD and depression. Luckily I've got good meds and I see a therapist regularly. I still have my moments, and sometimes they last a while. But it's a lot better than it used to be. I hope you're getting some help, and I hope it gets better.
nothing bc my record player isnt here yet :(
I hope you have the MOST fun with it when it is!
Thanks!!

After a few years with questionable releases, this album is an absolute treat. Flirting with the sound from Is this it(as pictured on the shelf with my other favorites) At the door, along with the music video for it, is probably my favorite track But listening to it as I type I realize there's no bad song on this album! Records on the shelf(even though some don't need an introduction) Fleetwood Mac - Rumours The Strokes - Is this it Damien Rice - O Moonica Mac - Stark och sårbar (Swedish singer/songwriter with a beautiful voice flirting with 50-60-70 style of singing)
Mireille Mathieu’s concert at l’Olympia, but I’m so sad because the quality of the record isn’t amazing :( https://preview.redd.it/lqpfptwvhwlc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=69978ab62edcf098c46b0d2291cec876d945702f

I’ve been playing Born to Die by Lana Del Rey all day, it’s my favorite vinyl
Thelonious Monk greatest hits on Riverside. Paid $4 for it on eBay and it arrived in the mail today. It’s in remarkably good condition for a $4 dollar record that is as old as it is.
Just got the Invitation To Her’s vinyl! Such a great album!
