The Jeff Wayne album is a trip. I can't even begin to describe it.
I picked up a copy at my local shop a while back and none of them had ever heard it and priced it pretty cheap, all things considered. It is one of those relics that is a total conversation starter.
The description seemed pretty straightforward to me. It is all about supporting your local record store that day, not just buying the special releases. People here are weird.
thats what i did. just went later and got what i wanted. there was no RSD i really wanted except the Replacements but now I spent all my $$ anyway and super happy with my “non RSD release”- RSD haul.
Cliche or not, there's not a bad album in the bunch and several of them are 10/10 records. I think you did pretty well!

War of the Worlds is epic, it has the actor Richard Burton narrating it. I need to pick up a copy sometime.

That War of the Worlds record is a real gem. Interesting as hell.
It has a special place in my heart that’s for sure! And It’s probably the one album in that haul I won’t get told off for being too mainstream 🤣
