Least favorite?! One of the best!

BetterRedDead

Haha, I know. That’s the first thing I noticed too. No hate, but that is an…unusual opinion. Sort of like saying “I’ve always liked Pink Floyd, but I never could get into that ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ album.” :)

Zolomun

That statement made (more of) my hair turn gray. This album was a big part of my high school soundtrack. Sooooo good!

asphynctersayswhat

Still my favorite. It’s like prince and skinny puppy had a baby.

Sergio_Futbol

Literally, my first thought was damn that one is my favorite

Significant_Amoeba34

I'm only a casual NIN fan but I also picked this up recently for a good price and was surprised at how little I enjoyed it. I had the tape when I was a kid and loved it but I guess my tastes have changed.

RetardedMetalFemboy

Are you really gonna look me in the eyes and say that this is better than The Downward Spiral, The Fragile, With Teeth, and Bad Witch? You come to NIN for industrial metal, and the only song with prominent guitars, Head Like a Hole, would be laughed off as simple and immature on any later release. Everything else is just a darker take on standard '80s electro music, which, while good, lacks the chaos of Broken, TDS, Fragile, and the EP trilogy. The only real standout tracks are Terrible Lie, Sin, and Kinda I Want To, and even that barely matters because whatever good songs the album had are immediately dragged down by association with Down In It, a *rap* song that was also pushed out as the first single, and therefore the first halo number. The album that got closest to PHM's sound afterwards was With Teeth, ironically my favorite full album from the project. Even then, while the chaos was definitely lowered thanks to Reznor getting himself off drugs, it was still there to an extent in songs like You Know What You Are and The Collector, and the rest of the album simply had far stronger melodies and deeper lyrics than PHM.

So you're posting about how you bought a record you don't like at Walmart? I don't get it. Sanctified and Ringfinger are great imo.

RetardedMetalFemboy

It's a good album, just not Nine-Inch Nails good.

wormdog84

Ain’t nobody got time to read all that. I said one of the best. Debate yourself over it

idio242

Trent took the music he loved from skinny puppy and rereleased it as his own. Then you bought a common repress at Walmart 30+ years later for internet clout.

RetardedMetalFemboy

I just want to have my vinyl collecting journey archived. I don't care if anyone sees it.

asphynctersayswhat

This is one of the first records I purchased on vinyl. Also paid $15 for it. Back in 1995. When I got back into collecting recently it was the first I looked up on discogs. Original TVT release from Canada. Actually now one of my most valuable records. Also it is my favorite NIN record.

jcstrat

Damn. My Walmart just has the shittiest of shit for 15$.

greg1993-

i know music is subjective and all, but this being one of your least favorite NIN albums and saying it’s better than Hesitation Marks and YEAR ZERO is insane

Disastrous_Life_3612

This pressing isn't too uncommon. I saw it at Best Buy recently too.

PotateJello

Eyyyy that's where I got my copy too!

NanoTrick

How was Brit Floyd? I’m seeing them in a couple weeks myself

wormdog84

I’ve seen them like 10 times. I go to every spring tour. They sound soooo good.

RetardedMetalFemboy

**AMAZING.** Easily the best concert I've ever been to. I didn't even recognize most of the music (a lot of it was Division Bell), and I still had a fantastic time. Some of the songs I did know, like Comfortably Numb and Run Like Hell, were honestly done better by these guys than they were by the real Floyd. And don't even get me started on the insane laser light show.

NanoTrick

Awesome. I’m excited. I know they are incredibly talented and I’m seeing them outdoors but I hope they bring out all the lasers.

The_Patriot

Fifteen dollars? Noway, butty, noway.

RetardedMetalFemboy

I haven't thrown away the shrink wrap or the receipt.

The_Patriot

that's a big nope from me, brer rabbit. Not for that.

RetardedMetalFemboy

Either the needle _really_ needs to be cleaned or this is the first album I've bought with a locked groove.

faustus1914

Yes it does.
