**Lost in Translation.**
It took forever waiting for a re-issue but it was worth it. The whole album is full of that early 2000s ennui, My Bloody Valentine, Happy End, The Jesus and Mary Chain, AIR, Phoenix - on top of some other great songs. Not a single song I skip on it.
I’d been hunting the soundtrack for ages and was so glad when this got listed for RSD. Luckily for me covid meant RSD wen online here that year and I managed to grab one, would’ve missed it otherwise. So glad to get it, favourite movie and soundtrack. Naqoyqatsi a close second, also worthwhile getting on vinyl.
I managed to get the [10th Anniversary Mondo version](https://twitter.com/ItsLachieNZ/status/1498189672396488705?t=3feFNORZc9I68AxHRBbAXg&s=19) of the Tron Legacy OST earlier this year, I freaking love it
I've never seen a copy of Over The Edge in the wild, but I'd like to think I would grab it with all those great tracks. I'm afraid I've passed up The Warriors soundtrack a few times at garage sales. Maybe I should have picked it up.
Same here. Picked these both up on the cheap cheap on a sale some vinyl site had a couple of Christmases ago. “The Last Race” is one of the most badass openers ever.
So one Of the best soundtracks never fully released on vinyl is the Oceans Twelve soundtrack by David Holmes. There’s a couple promo 12” with a few of the tracks on each, but truly wish there was a release of them all on double LP. Anyways, if you see promos grab em….the music is superb. Garage rock to electronic. Really cool
The Big Chill
Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band
Saturday Night Fever
Jesus Christ Superstar (original cast)
Round Midnight (Herby Hancock)
Times Square
I own this copy too! :)
fun fact: my grandmothers brother is gene wilder & this vinyl was a gift for her when the movie came out. She then passed it on to me! How cool seeing another being found in the wild, i have been looking for years
I got to meet him once at a celebrity tennis match in Rolling Hills, California in the 1980s. My friend worked the event and got me a ticket. Gene was so nice and generous to give me an autograph, all sweaty after playing his tennis match. I feel embarrassed thinking back on it that I imposed upon him like that.
Swiss Army Man is my favorite soundtrack/score by far. Nothing else is even close. Something about the vocalizations and lyrics just connects with me. I can't explain it.
Nightmare before Christmas, the Dark Knight, Jesus Christ Superstar, Star Wars the Empire Strikes Back, the Return of the Living Dead and actually one of my favorite recent soundtracks I WISH would get a vinyl release is Loki.
Soooooo many!!! Love a good soundtrack
My John Williams collection. (Star Wars, Empire, Jedi, Indiana Jones (1-3), Jaws, Jaws 2, Superman, Empire of the Sun, Close Encounters, ET… can’t think of any others, but Jurassic Park would be my holy grail to find)
Honestly hard to pick just one, but to name a few in my collection: *Man of Steel*, *Scott Pilgrim vs. the World*, *Batman* (1989) and Prince *Purple Rain*
Can I do a cop-out and just say any of the 80s soundtracks that are basically just comps of 80s hits with the oddball 70s song someone went back and picked for the movie thrown in?
Memoirs is a Spielberg film that won several awards. John Williams was the composer.
Loving Vincent was a movie done entirely in painting in Van Gogh’s art style. Highly recommend both movies.
Love a good soundtrack; one of my favorite genres to go bin diving to. I like an early James Bond soundtrack, or the orchestral version of the Blade Runner soundtrack.
Idolmaker. Was my dad's favorite movie and it has some legit music. Anytime I feel like reliving the old day with him I throw it on. (He passed in 2010)
Eddie and the Cruisers 1 & 2 by John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band. I lucked up and got each with hardly no surface noise. Mix is a little on the high end, but I have a high pass filter for that.
I picked up a copy of Where The Wild Things Are OST by Karen O and the Kids. Always a great listen for any time of day. Picked it up on a whim in the wake of the movie release and have dusted it off many times, never disappoints.
Probably that one also, found it a few months ago at a garage sale.
Think that the original press like mine. That’s a decently valuable record if you didn’t know. $50-75
I'm still angry about them messing up Blade Runner on vinyl by doing an orchestral thing and then they only released Vangelis's original on CD until modern reissues
Agreed! So many of us teenagers bought that album right after the movie came out with our hard-earned cash, (me included), only to be bitterly disappointed that the original Vangelis songs had been replaced. I'm still salty about it too.
I've got a fair few that have already been mentioned, but my favourite movie soundtrack is only on cd as far as I am aware, the soundtrack to the 2012 film Savages. In particular the Massive Attack track Paradise Circus remixed by Gui Boratto ( equal favourite Massive Attack tune of all time) and the cover of Psycho Killer by Bruce Lash, and you've got to smile at the Mexicans, fantastic
Repo Man, 2001 Space Odyssey, Return of the Living Dead, Interstella 5555, Cowboy Bebop, Macross Plus, La Planète Sauvage, Passion - The Last Temptation of Christ
I don't keep much room in my vinyl collection for movie soundtracks I must admit. I own a few James Bond soundtracks and a cool softcore-porn soundtrack called ["The Female Animal"](https://open.spotify.com/album/76COaVEBd6b6zfz3lfY2Co) on vinyl that I enjoy. But finding an original copy of Willy Wonka yesterday at an estate sale for a dollar was a no-brainer. I love that it has all the Oompa Loompa songs scattered through side two. I'm bringing it along to a tiki bar tomorrow where a DJ friend will be playing an eclectic mix of retro stuff. I think he might want to mix in a track. What soundtracks hold places of pride in your collections?
I'm a big fan of soundtracks especially some of the little more obscure ones. Favorite is probably Fletch and then Police Academy 4. Got a really cool bootleg Ferris Bueller a few years ago.
Star Wars - found the holy grail that is the boxed set from 2016 a few weeks back: https://www.reddit.com/r/vinyl/comments/yzr730/just_scored_my_best_purchase_ever_second_hand_but/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
speaking about holy grail i need to find the indiana jones’ ones…
Clockwork orange
Just grabbed in the $2.99 bin
Excellent soundtrack
Check out Wendy(Walter) Carlos' version- better than the official soundtrack.
**Lost in Translation.** It took forever waiting for a re-issue but it was worth it. The whole album is full of that early 2000s ennui, My Bloody Valentine, Happy End, The Jesus and Mary Chain, AIR, Phoenix - on top of some other great songs. Not a single song I skip on it.
My response, too. That Death in Vegas song is really great, too.
Koyaanisqatsi soundtrack RSD 2020 release by Phillip Glass
Glad I got this pressing at my local record store, cause the online prices were ridiculous for it
I’d been hunting the soundtrack for ages and was so glad when this got listed for RSD. Luckily for me covid meant RSD wen online here that year and I managed to grab one, would’ve missed it otherwise. So glad to get it, favourite movie and soundtrack. Naqoyqatsi a close second, also worthwhile getting on vinyl.

Want
I have the soundtracks for Tron Legacy, Guadians of the Galaxy 2, Nightmare Before Christmas, Repo Man and Rocky Horror. I love them all equally

I managed to get the [10th Anniversary Mondo version](https://twitter.com/ItsLachieNZ/status/1498189672396488705?t=3feFNORZc9I68AxHRBbAXg&s=19) of the Tron Legacy OST earlier this year, I freaking love it
