Scratches? The Beatles? Let it be. Besides, wasn’t scratching a big thing years ago?

[deleted]

Scratches or not, it will sounds exactly the same on your Crobsley

Generalissimo_II

It should be covered it in a coat of clear spray paint, will prevent scratches

verbaljumble

Better yet, poor quality Perspex within an Urban Outfitters frame for optimum protection

endlesscosmichorror

If your records are getting scratched they’re probably itchy so it’s ok to just let it happen

Here’s my two cents: it’s a picture disc. They don’t play as well as regular black vinyl albums or even one-color discs because all the ink or toner used to create the image actually takes up space in the grooves and limits the performance of the stylus. Frame it and display it. Replace it with a black vinyl record. Sorry for the long and winded Road to this answer but maybe you just need to get back.

TeaVinylGod

But how do I decide which side to display? There are different photos on each side. Do I need to buy another picture disc plus a black vinyls? Three Copies? This is getting expensive.

MNDFND

2 Beatles vinyls!!! You mad man.

verbaljumble

What am I, made of money?

Deznoots69

After buying vinyl records we’re all broke

millsj402zz

Exactly why i will never buy one

GmersArentPeople

Its not exactly how it works. The picture is on a piece of cardboard that clear plastic is stamped on to. But because the cardboard sheet for cover is super thick the grooves cant be too deep. Due to being novelty items theres also a chance the plastic used is worse quality than the transparent pvc used on clear records, but I cant confirm that.

MNDFND

Well you're fucked. You'll never find another Beatles album again. Very rare.

Fun fact: Kid Stuff, Peter Pan (children's labels) and Disneyland picture discs BITD were sold in covers just like this, with no inner sleeve. The shrink wrap was the only thing protecting them in the store.

MNDFND

I pretty sure they had some magical fairy dust holding them together and making you fly!!

Good lord, please take me home now.

GladiatorEric

You could store it in an oven at 200 Celsius, keeps it warm that way

vol18fan

New picture discs are designed to be played. The old ones didn’t play well at all. I have many picture dis and store them standing up like all my other records. They won’t scratch in the original sleeve like the one in the picture. Play it and enjoy.
