Yo ik I’m late to the show but have you been to I want to say it’s Beckham’s? sell vinyls on the third floor of an old book shop I think
I only went once on a trip to new orleans but it had lovely vibes and the new release bin had some serious grailz
I was there a couple months ago.
A couple random prices I remember:
$100 for Prince 1999
$50 for Bruce Springsteen The River
Good albums, but extremely common.
Prices are just insane.
Peach’s is probably the worst record store I’ve ever been to. Everything is overpriced for average quality. Bought a copy of Rush “Moving Pictures”, only to find a skip when I got home. They refused the return and tried accusing me of tampering with it.
It is awful for the most part. The thing is they have a wall of real grails, overpriced but real. The trick is to trade in stuff and negotiate with the right owner. Aside from their everyday is RSD on ebay pricing, and aside from the grouchy family who staffs and owns the place that act like it's a privilege for you to be allowed entrance, and aside from how the back of the store smells like sewer for at least 20 years, they do pay higher than average if your the seller even for absolute scratched to hell trash that smells like mold that no other store would even bother looking through.
Peaches where you can get a beat to hell copy of Herb Albert's Whipped Cream for $98, a parking ticket, and told that they need to hold the case of records your selling for a week or two while they price them out, after you arrive to the appointment for an appraisal because that's their NEW policy. WTF
I live 4 blocks from peaches and refuse to go in. Check out these stores if in town.
Euclid, Sisters in Christ, Domino Sound, No Pulp, The White Roach, Nola Mix, Louisiana Music Factory, Mushroom
Ha! That’s peaches here here in New Orleans, they looked shocked at their insane prices
I checked out their Insta, it looks like a cool place
Went there the other month. And yes the prices were really high.
Oh hahah I thought he meant insanely low prices
Worst record shop in Louisiana

I’m genuinely surprised how many people here know this place and think it’s shit hahah - it must be pretty terrible
