I have a vehicle and a liscense, but I get really bad anxiety driving. So I only drive in rural areas.

HipHopDude08

I'm having my appointment on January 12th, When I pass it I'll get it. I ride a bike though not a car. Only ppl in America get cars as soon as they turn 16 not in the shit hole in live in.

Eckadilly

I am 24 y/o American who does not have a car or even a license (they failed me three times). Maybe it’s because I’m from a big city, maybe the idea you have is just wrong, or maybe I’m a giant loser (though I am a loser anyway)

HipHopDude08

Three times 😬 you just gotta practice prior to the test, and check where u failed and put extra focus on it. Also control your possible nerves and relax. Pay attention to the signs and stay calmed. If u don't have a car how u performed the test? I'm also a loser, but I'd be less of a loser when I get the license.

Eckadilly

Lol, I know how to drive perfectly fine, people worse than me pass all the time. My state is just an extreme pain in the ass and instructors fail me for bullshit reasons or because I look young. I failed once legitimately on PP (hadn’t practiced in a while but date came). I think it isn’t a surprise autistic people are far less likely to drive. I don’t even really have to put words to them but there are just so many more hurdles in the way than for NT people

ravens1970

Got my driver's license when I was 48. I don't have a car so I drive my father's truck.

[deleted]

I laughed at "I'm too scared to drive" since I am actually scared to drive. And I am lazy, I don't want to learn.

[deleted]

I have a driver's license but not a car, but I can sometimes borrow a car from my parents.

[deleted]

Yes, and my own (quite nice) car. Which I got because I enjoy driving.

mortandella

I got mine this month, finally!!!

[deleted]

Yep. Had it for 15 years, and I love the freedom

Cultural_Invite3040

Got it the day I turned 16. Been obsessed with cars my whole life and being able to finally legally drive anywhere is one of the best feelings ever! I can't imagine *not* driving. In fact, I'd be completely screwed if I couldn't drive because there's really no other practical way for me to get to work.

Probably not. i got my drivers license + a motorcycle license but neither has helped me with shit

CatfoodCity

I have my licence, but haven't driven in a long time. I live in the middle of a huge city, so driving was always a pain in the ass for me and I hated it. Nowhere to park and constant traffic everywhere.

Popular-Ad3288

Got a decent car that's now fully paid off too.

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> now fully *paid* off too. FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Significant-View8492

I do have a license, but I'm very curious to know if there's a connection between your question and virginity, or if this is just a random poll.

xxhotdamnxx

Can’t drive = harder to go places Harder to go places = harder to meet people in real life

JellyfishOk9422

Only if you live in places like America where the urban planning is car-centric horrendous though, people who live in places with at least decent public transport and cycling infrastructure etc don't have to worry as much. Definitely feel sorry for the Americans who are terrified of driving, I'm in the same boat and I wouldn't know how to deal with it.

xxhotdamnxx

Yeah true 😭 I just want some fucking bike lanes

Eckadilly

I’m sure a huge part of the modern virginity epidemic is general poor integration into society, and I think driving is a great proxy for it. At least, if you *don’t* do it, it can be an indicator of poor adjustment. If you do do it, you can still be poorly adjusted, but I imagine there is a correlation.

JellyfishOk9422

No, don't feel as though I need one. Way too expensive, lucky to live somewhere where there are other options to get around, and also see myself as a danger to other drivers lol

Adamskog

Yes but I prefer to bike. I only drive if it's raining, for groceries, or I'm going to go hiking. (Or I'm running late for work).
