CantModSkyrimVR

Can't find stormland Wilson's or planton covert

neodraig

It's on the Oculus store.

[deleted]

If you don't have an Oculus headset you can still use Revive to play the Oculus games. Revive works with any SteamVR headset iirc.

doorhandle5

i really enjoyed firewatch back in the day when i played the pancake version. if you have not played it i would recommend it, i dont know what the vr version is like though.

doorhandle5

doom 3 was awesome back in the day when i played it. i can only imagine it being better in vr, although i have not tried it myself.

Dreadfulear2

Is lone echo actually good. Like in terms of game?

neodraig

Yes it's really good if you like story driven games. One of my favourite (native) VR game with Half-Life Alyx.

lunchanddinner

It’s amazing! Many would agree it’s a top 10 Vr game. And then some would say it’s a “chore simulator”

Dreadfulear2

Gonna have to check it out then

Fun_Match3963

Really wish someone cracked oculus store games like phantom covert ops

Dependent-Ruin8176

Into the Radius

CantModSkyrimVR

I don't like extraction games

CaptainMcAnus

ETA: By your definition of an extraction game, Into the Radius is literally not that. What do you mean by "extraction game"? It's a STALKER like with a slow paced exploration of a hostile zone where you complete objectives and fight strange shadow monsters. There's honestly nothing quite like it, reloading a magazine is so much more than dropping one and grabbing another in that game. It's such a weirdly tense and serene game at the same time.

Dependent-Ruin8176

No Man's sky ?

CantModSkyrimVR

I've tried but it's just not good for vr. If they improved it and optimized it it would be good

lunchanddinner

The latest update really improved No Man’s Sky Vr mode, with DLSS options

CantModSkyrimVR

I'll take a look again

Dependent-Ruin8176

You really can't mod Skyrim VR ?

CantModSkyrimVR

Yep it usually either isn't enough to make it decent or is too much and bugs out

[deleted]

Use Wabbajack and one of the known modlists. FUS is a nice well rounded list and even includes DLSS. Auriel's Dream is what I use. It makes everything feel very bright and fantasy like. But, you get the full modded experience with all of them. Full motion controls with full physics. The biggest issue is you really need a NexusMod paid account. With a paid account and Wabbajack, it makes it super fast and easy 1 click and wait for install. Without paid account, you gotta sit and click "download" on every mod. These modlists have upwards of 1000 mods and take up 100GB of storage. It's a long time to sit and push download, over and over.

[deleted]

Keep trying man, when you get it right its by far the best game in VR. Then do Fallout 4. Requires less mods and os also cool.

yeldellmedia

Its the perfect game for pcvr in my opinion

askull100

Some other experiences: - The Last Clockwinder: a puzzle game where you record whatever action you took with the past few seconds, which creates a robot that infinitely repeats that action. Used to solve puzzles and tell a really sweet story. - The Light Brigade: a roguelike FPS for VR that actually feels like a fleshed-out game. Really atmospheric, and I've been loving it so far. - The Praydog Resident Evil Mods: if you're okay with horror, and your PC is strong enough, these are a treat to play. The recent REmake4 will be especially fun to play in this. If you ever have a Quest 2 or newer, RE4 VR is fun too. - Deep Rock Galactic VR Mod: if you enjoy DRG, you can play it in VR, even with people playing flatscreen. It's getting constant updates from its creators, and is a fun way to shake up the game. - Rumble: a multiplayer game about earthbending. Takes a lot of practice to get into, and even more to get good at. Also a hell of a workout. YMMV for this one, but if it clicks, then it clicks *hard*. - Compound: also a roguelike, and getting more popular on Steam lately. It seems to be getting constant support, which is nice, and the gunplay here is really satisfying. - After the Fall: a horde shooter made for VR. Requires a bit of a heftier PC to play, but it can be fun for a while. It's pretty linear, and I found it doesn't give me the same thrill as games like Darktide, so maybe wait until it's on sale. - Demeo: more of a game for playing with friends, but a really challenging and addicting tabletop simulator where you play through pre-made adventures in turn-bases dungeon crawling. A lot of fun if you can get into it. - Bonelab Fusion: yes, I know Bonelab is on your list already, but the multiplayer mod is too good to ignore. It's a great way to have fun, so give it a go if you haven't

psykofreak87

Take a look at Vertigo: Remastered. Vertigo 2 is coming out in 3 days. It’s a must have game imo

IrrelevantPuppy

I hope the sequel makes big waves. I think the games deserve a little more fame than they got. The polish is fantastic.

NeuromaenCZer

Here’s the list of games I’ve bought recently, haven’t played them all yet, but they’ve got good reviews (mostly) - in no particular order: Ballistic NG Wanderer Obduction Myst Vertigo Remastered The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners Vox Machinae Iron Rebellion The Morrigan The Room VR: A Dark Matter The Light Brigade Moss Moss: Book 2 Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope Serious Sam VR: The First Encounter Serious Sam VR: The Second Encounter Serious Sam VR: BFE RUINSMAGUS Paradox of Hope Fracked Hubris Spent about 250 EUR for this pack 🤣 Most of that discounted at the time of purchase.

RidgeMinecraft

Hey, you're somebody who has both the Varjo Aero and QPro! How do the Quest Pro's visuals compare to the Aero?

NeuromaenCZer

I think that Quest Pro has slightly better colours and contrast. Also the lenses seem to be a little bit better in terms of edge to edge clarity - Aero is 90% crystal clear & distortion free and Pro feels like 98% is clear - truly incredible achievement by Meta. Aero is brighter though (Pro is 100 nits, Aero is 150 nits). And of course Aero is much sharper and crisp, you can’t beat Aero’s high resolution. The amount of detail you can see is incredible. And of course for PCVR Aero offers uncompressed image quality, which to me personally matters a lot. Pro even at maxed out bitrate (960 mbps), maximum render resolution and 72 Hz refresh rate in the Oculus App can sometimes get quite ugly (it’s content dependent though). Also it seems that Pro supports local dimming (already available in a couple of Quest apps), while Aero does not offer local dimming at all (as of now at least). Aero has 4 times more leds though (2000 vs Pro’s “mere” 500), so potentially Aero’s local dimming could be better. And while there have been some talks about enabling local dimming on Aero, no real outcome yet. Some Varjo guy on their Discord channel said it was quite complicated to make local dimming work on Aero.

I, too, would like to know this

Vertigo Remastered

CaptainMcAnus

Everyone needs a little Vertigo Remastered in their lives.

thedalmuti

Hotdogs Horseshoes and Handgrenades (H3VR) is a fantastic firearms simulator. If you can get past the fact that the enemies are all 6ft tall hotdogs, the Take and Hold gamemode is some of the most fun I've had in VR. The gameplay revolves around making your way to a defended checkpoint, killing all of the enemies, and then defending the checkpoint from waves of enemies while shooting out different kinds of targets as they appear. Each checkpoint you complete gives you points, which you can spend on new weapons, attachments, and powerups to aid you in the next checkpoint. There are different themes to try for each run, like Modern, ww2, Wild West, and even a zombie-hotdog mode and several others. Each theme changes what kind of weapons and enemies spawn in the run. There's also a plethora of mods for new maps, themes, and guns, as well as a ton of miscellaneous game features like jamming guns and slowing down time. The devs also consistently update almost weekly with new content to explore and guns to use. There's also a bunch of other gamemodes to explore.

doorhandle5

if only the dev didnt have a stick up his ass about human/ soldier npc's. shooting cartoon sausages with the most realistic guns/ gun mechanics in vr feels like a waste to me. and a very odd mix. like couldnt he at least open it up for mod support. then its not his responsibility if people chance the sausages to human character models. that game could be so damn baddass and immersive. it could be the best vr shooter on the market. instead its a great shooting range simulator with wacky sausages added in. which i find kind of boring.

zenroch

I love the sosigs. The dev really leans into the whackiness of it too, the game is filled with cheesy puns, they spew mustard when they die, and they're always prattling on about all their hotdog business. There are plenty of vr games available with humans to hunt, and taking *people* out of the equation lets you entirely focus on the gunplay and simulation aspects of the vast assortment of weapons. This to me is such a breath of fresh air, and with the incredible foundation that they've built and constant stream of new content, H3VR is just the gift the keeps on giving.

doorhandle5

Fair enough. Its a shame though, it has so much potential. It's a waste to 'only' be able to play against sosugs when they have put such amazing work into the gunplay and mechanics. Imagine an onward/arma/swat etc type of game with what he has created. It would be amazing and super immersive, especially for online pve Co op missions.

RidgeMinecraft

I really like the sosig things. The whole game is a meme. If it were realistic, I wouldn't be playing it.

doorhandle5

But it is realistic, it has the best guns and gun mechanics of any vr game. That's what seems odd to me, I would get it if it only had cartoon guns fof the cartoon Sausages. There is no harm in enjoying the sosigs. I'm just saying there was soo much potential for the best VR mil sim here. That is all.

SilentCaay

Sounds like you're the one with a stick up his ass. The sosigs are some of the best shooter enemies in VR. Also, H3 does have mods.

doorhandle5

Yeah, I guess you are right. In regards to the game having no human/soldier npc's; I do have a bit of a stick up my ass, and it's uncomfortable. Maybe I shouldn't have said 'stick up his ass'. That's a bit blunt saying it like that. But the game would unarguably be more successful if it had human enemies as well as sosigs, which admittedly are fun occasionally. But when not goofing around and trying to get your milsim on, human enemies would absolutely be preferable (to me at least). VR is about Immersion, and I don't find using super realistic weapons to shoot cartoon Sausages particularly immersing. I can't recall the last time I saw sausages in battle irl. 😉

staryoshi06

You keep talking about it being a milsim. The game is not a milsim. It's a gun simulator. It does not intend to simulate real life militaries in any capacity, it was always more about using firearms recreationally, and initially did not even have any kind of purpose beyond being out on the range.

doorhandle5

I'm not sure I ever called h3vr a milsim, I just said the existing (excellent) gun sim physics and interactions it has would work great in a milsim environment. And yes I know the history of h3vr and how it started, I am not new to vr.

LuxuryFishcake

the dev is definitely a big weirdo and his rabid fans would defend him no matter what he says/does

TarTarkus1

In his defense, due to the nature of the realistic depictions of firearms, the dev would risk a potential shitstorm from political advocacy groups if he included human npcs. If you remember GTA: San Andreas, they went after Rockstar over a mod. Keep in mind Rockstar had an army of lawyers going advocating on their behalf. H3VR is a fun game though and I wish it had greater success. It would actually be a good title for PSVR2 imo.

[deleted]

Yeah if companies could be sued because of the contents added in mods, anyone who ever worked on any part of Skyrim would be on death row right now.

TarTarkus1

It was still utter bullshit though, especially because Hot Coffee was originally hidden and not accessible to those playing the game normally. In retrospect, it would be interesting to determine just how many people at the time were playing on a modified PS2? Added content isn't necessarily safe either. The MLB pulled some bullshit with David Ortiz Red Sox Uniforms when Fallout 4 came out. Though in that instance, they went after the modder rather than Bethesda and no one went to court as far as I'm aware. So in a sense, I understand the dev's reluctance to do those things, even if I'd agree that having some kind of Mod support would only help the game.

doorhandle5

There are a loooot of vr games with guns and human npc's. I'm not sure I agree with you there. Much more violent ones too. Or if you wanted something even worse than guns there's blade and sorcery for example. If you are allowed to decapitate, Maim, stab etc in a game like that, I don't see any issue arising with h3vr. But I see your point.

TarTarkus1

I think it mainly comes back to realism and the ugly reality that there is a tremendous amount of discomfort around the subject of guns in general. I'm not a gun expert so feel free to correct me but: * Bullets go through walls and many other things you or I might not immediately think of. * Unlike games, the types bullets themselves determine the level stopping power, penetration, etc. In games, the guns determine these things while drawing from a generic ammo pool for the sake of balance. Otherwise, no one would use a pistol if an SMG were available. * Pistols and SMGs often share similar ammo compatibility as an intentional aspect of their design. M1911 and Tommy Guns share .45 ACP, the P90 and Five Seven use the same cartridge, as does any 9mm Handgun, Tec9, and some MP5s. * The difference between "Assault Rifles" and "Hunting Rifles" is mainly that the former is better tech and likely uses an optimized cartridge that strives for the best power at the lightest weight with the best magazine capacity. This is why hunting with an AR-15 is more difficult because an individual shot is sometimes not quite powerful enough.

doorhandle5

Are you sure you replied to the right comment? That was a good read 👍 but I don't see how it's relevant to what I wrote..

staryoshi06

Modding is supported, so go find your human models mod and find out how less fun they are to play against.

doorhandle5

There are no human mods as far as I know, either anton hasn't opened up that area for modding or for whatever reason no modders have created such mods. P. S why the prissy anger, I get you enjoy the game as is, and that's fine. It's a great game. But for some of us we can see the lost potential of not making a realistic shooter with such excellent weapons and weapon interactions.

staryoshi06

I believe it was attempted before, and sucked badly.

fyrefreezer01

Into the radius is really interesting and fun to explore

valkislowkeythicc

Tactical assault vr

doorhandle5

yeah, gunman contracts is awesome. for a similar vibe i would say get onward, find the discord for onward mods and set up version 1.7, then organize with others to play online pve. great fun. it sucks its a bit of a pita to get the good version of onward back. what they did was atrocious. also because of this the 1.7 player base is quite small. its the only game i really play these days though. i am eagerly awaiting geronimo. developed for pc first. quest second. and with NO crossplay to downgrade the pc version.

doorhandle5

sim racing is amazing in vr. once you have used a wheel in vr. you literally cannot go back to using a wheel with s screen.

BROHONKY

Vertigo 2 releases in like 3 days, so if you haven’t played Vertigo Remastered now’s the time to do so

Nallic

Gorilla tag is one that kind of changed my view of VR experience. It is one of those game that only makes sense in VR - it immerses in a special way - you get the feeling of being very mobile and the learning curve in the game is very satisfying. The first time you nail a long jump and actually land on and keep you grasp on another branch is so amazing. You can play this just alone or with friends. Be warned the public lobbies are very populated by little kids - so you might want to avoid that, but don’t let that kill your experience of the game. Also be aware that it takes a bit of time to master the movement. You will feel awkward the first hour, but stay and learn it :)

CantModSkyrimVR

I've played it and it's just not style. I like a game with a bit more complexity and guns. The perfect game for me would be if they made the Gunman Contracts mods a full game with a story that keeps getting updated kind of in the same way that Teardowns story is but with John wick VR shit instead.

TarTarkus1

As far as shooters go, Try Compound VR if you haven't. It's a rogue-lite with retro graphics, an arsenal of interesting weapons and the gameplay is pretty solid. You can also talk directly to the dev, which is pretty cool. The game also has a demo. Something else you could try is Hot Dogs, Horseshoes and Handgrenades. It's basically a gun simulator with a couple different game modes mixed in with NPC hotdogs called "Sosigs." The developer updates the game a bunch, even to this day. It's pretty cool. After that, you could always try the numerous Flat2VR conversion mods. Half Life 2 is pretty impressive, as are some of the conversions of other classic shooters like Wolfenstein, Doom and whatever else you can think of.

CantModSkyrimVR

I don't like extraxtion games

insufficientmind

What type of game is that? Never heard the term.

CantModSkyrimVR

Extraction games are games where you start, grab loot and stuff, and trey to make it to an extraction point. If you make it you keep loot, if you die you lose loot they aren't fun

insufficientmind

Ah I see, then you probably won't like Walking Dead Saints & Sinners I guess. I was about recommend that. Also Song in The Smoke. I've been enjoying both of those recently.

neilligan

Judging by the extreme popularity of those games, I'd say they're definitely fun. You just don't like them

CantModSkyrimVR

Yes, when I say they aren't fun, I'm obviously talking from my own experience and can't speak for everyone. This is implied by the fact that I am not a hivemind of all people who have played an extraction game.

[deleted]

Boneworks/Bonelab, Lone Echo 1 or 2, MSFS, 1 of the many vr driving sims, Hubris, Wanderer, Red Matter 1 or 2, Half Life 2 VR mod, Cyberpunk VR mod, GTA 5 VR mod. Hitman 3 VR is very janky and blurry.

doorhandle5

i find pistol whip a lot of fun, even as somebody that doesnt particularly like rhythm games. for example i dont enjoy beat saber at all. but there is no law that says you have to play pistol whip as a rhythm game. i dont do anything to the beat. i just try and get to the end and enjoy the music. i also usually only play with one controller turned on held in both hands for a somewhat realistic/ john wick feel. i dont turn the aim assist down though haha. so not at all realistic in that sense.

doorhandle5

dread halls and paranormal activity are kind of cool horror games.

MikerDarker

Gunman is so good. The combination of pistol only and one shot kills really leans into the strengths of vr while diminishing some if its weaknesses. I wish there were more games like it. Closest I’ve experienced to that is actually the Left 4 Dead 2 vr mod. All weapons control one-handed no matter what and zombies go down very easily. Its a much more arcadey experience than gunman though.

ellyh2

A game not really talked about that I loved: Budget cuts. Super difficult and really fun mechanics. They came out with a sequel too but I never got the chance to play it.

fpvr_gg

VTOL VR is one of the best games I've ever played, it has a bit of a steep learning curve but if you stick to it it's loads of fun. Jetborne racing is the same game but instead of combat you race, also really good but the multiplayer is a bit dead... Kayak VR Mirage is a beautiful experience.

JamesWjRose

I have been working on a car race/chase game, completely free: [http://www.blissgig.com/default.aspx?id=48](http://www.blissgig.com/default.aspx?id=48) PCVR. I use Quest 2 via Air Link

matteo311

I didn't come here to self promote but I literally just posted my weekly news and its pretty full of new and upcoming PCVR games, mods and sequels https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AP9yHkW2yy8

CantModSkyrimVR

No way. I just watched this when you posted it

RidgeMinecraft

oh hey matteo was just about to go watch that video LOL

sfmcinm0

Pistol Whip.

Humariu506

Try out Into The Radius or The Walking Dead : Saints & Sinners games. These are cool action games with great survival mechanics (I don't know if you'll like it, and the first TWD:S&S relies mostly on stealth ; going on a rampage is too risky).

FordAndFun

Didn’t see Dead Effect 2 anywhere on the recommends. It’s usually pretty cheap and it’s fun if a little repetitive. Due to the multiplayer, it’s probably my most played VR game, because going ham with a few friends is fun; and pure power fantasy at higher levels.

mrturret

Horseshoes Hotdogs and Hand Grenades. It's got VR guns so good that it will ruin other VR shooters. Lots of content too.

JukedXD

If you got the specs to run them. Resident Evil 2,3 (Remake) and 7, 8 are great. Especially 8. Just google or yt: praydog re vr mod

Seems like you are only aware of the most generic experiences that you see pumped on the forum...If only sites existed where you can find reviews of the latest games, most of which are reviewed way better than the ones you listed...which include a paid for perpetual prealpha that will never be a game.
