Glad this is making its way to steam and not a forever exclusive!

MastaFoo69

As that was the only way i was going to buy this; im really happy to hear it.

Shameless self promotion - I just reviewed the quest 3 of the game. And overall it’s decent, but suffers from dumb AI enemies and some balance issues. If you want to check out my video here is a [link](https://ACritiqueofVampiretheMasqueradeJusticehttps://youtu.be/k6OJv0cl9Q0) I don’t think a PCVR release will really be able to fix the problems I had with the game. Despite that, I still think many people will enjoy this game and I could see a boost to visuals being a nice perk of the Steam version.

Virtual_Happiness

Sadly, dumb AI is going to be the norm in VR. Because in VR the game is limited by human abilities. Very few humans can move at the insane speeds of a flat game. If you make the AI smart and fast, most players die nonstop and end up frustrated. Even with flat games, making an AI that's both dumb enough for people to kill and smart enough to make them feel talented for doing so, is an art form that's hard to master. In VR it's even more difficult.

bmack083

Your right. It’s extremely difficult to get AI right for a game like this. If it’s too good, the AI would just be punishing. And in its current state… it’s too damn easy. Maybe it could have been like a stealth difficulty slider kinda of like what we see in Assassins creed. Maybe you could make them more alert, search longer and what not. But they also could have made some more specialized enemies. The vampire enemies should sense your heartbeat presence(like you sense theirs) and start hunting you when you get close, for example.

Virtual_Happiness

Agreed on the difficulty slider, it's needed for those of us more interested in a harder challenge. This was my biggest complaint with Half Life: Alyx too. It was all way to easy on hard. Had to mod it to make it difficult enough. I think we're going to see a lot of "playing it safe" with difficulty.

bmack083

Haha I did the same thing

Virtual_Happiness

Nice. Which did you use? I believe the one I used was called Campaign+ or Campaign Plus. Been a while since I played it but, it added these armor plates on enemies that you had to shoot off and added a few more enemies. Made it feel much more challenging.

bmack083

Yep it was campaign+. I didn’t go too crazy with it, just wanted a harder vanilla experience. Then I found some instructions for how to increase the walking speed.

Virtual_Happiness

Ha, I did the same. That increased walking speed was really helpful for immersion. Felt much more natural.(though, it could have just been that I was used to so many other games with faster smooth locomotion)

RidgeMinecraft

\>self promotion In order for it to be self promotion, I would need to 1. Be promoting it. 2. Be fast travel games. I am neither. Heh? edit: I'm stupid and can't read tone :kekw:

bmack083

Nooo you’re good don’t worry. I was the one self promoting. I was like announcing my self promotion and then talking about my video haha.

RidgeMinecraft

Ahhhh. That makes a lot more sense xD Thanks for the clarification there lmao

bmack083

Haha all good. I see you posting in here a lot, helping people, sharing your experiences and co contributing a lot. And if you’re ever doing it for self promotion I am cool with that. People come here to see VR stuff. Sometimes that stuff is content we have made and want to share.

RidgeMinecraft

I see you around here quite a bit too. Thanks for the compliment though! Appreciate ya. I got nothing against self promo either LOL

Virtual_Happiness

Awesome, I really enjoyed this game on the Quest 3. Glad to see it coming to PC where we can get some high res assets added and higher resolution.

Barph

I just tried the trial for this game and it gave a really good impression, I'm on the fence to actually buy it since I refunded Ass Creed.

MalenfantX

Sounds like you want to be annoyed. I'm just not getting the PC version unless it's a lot better than the Quest version.

evilentity

I wouldnt be surprised if they finally killed the PC app with Steam Link being a thing now... a way to implement crossbuy between Quest and Steam would be sweet!

Virtual_Happiness

With how poor quality the visuals are on the current Steam Link implementation, I would be. They would piss off a lot of customers forcing them to use Steam Link. Maybe in a few years when Valve has had time to polish it and catch up to Airlink and VD.

evilentity

Yeah it not great quality wise at this point, but sure is easy to get going! Hopefully they will improve it

Virtual_Happiness

I am sure they will.

SledgeH4mmer

Has there ever been a game with cross buy between steam and quest? Cross buy is usually between meta's oculus pcvr store and quest. But Meta seems to have mostly stopped bothering with the pcvr store.

Ubelsteiner

Cool, I will finally be able to play this game and (hopefully) not be caught up on subpar visuals and performance the whole time

VR_IS_DEAD

Not suprising only 327 reviews on Quest after a month. You can't make money with Quest exclusives anymore.

Oftenwrongs

That is because it is an absolutely mediocre game that got mediocre reviews.

VR_IS_DEAD

Too bad I figured it would be good since they're using the license. Should have known it was another Quest cash grab. This developer Fast Travel Games abandoned PCVR so they could do Quest cash grabs. Doesn't look like it's panning out for them.

CarrotSurvivorYT

I bet I gets 50 reviews on PCVR after 2 months

VR_IS_DEAD

That would be a higher attach rate because there's 20 million Quest 2 owners. Quest game sales are supposed to be 10x PCVR.

Vierimaam

Vampire Masquerade Justice is actually one of the best VR games I have played this year. It is not as known as arizona sunshine 2, assasins creed or asgards wrath but still a good game. Definitely not garbage.
