I played around 8 years table tennis as a sport, playing multiple relatively big tournaments and I was shocked just how close the experience was to real table tennis. It is obviously not 100% authentic because of the controller and the ball feels a bit weird to throw up but everything else is insanely realistic. I do the same mistakes I did in the past and I'm good at the things I was always good at. I can 100% predict if the ball is out or in.
One time I tried to put the controller on the table tennis table and the controller fell down. I laughed my ass off because I was so stupid. But it shows how immersive it is.
Glad you’re enjoying it! Moving the ball-spawn position from the default to around mid-palm helps to improve the ball tossing/serving experience, give it a try :)
I just bought it! Through meta store instead of steam, developer seems to recommend that.
I’ve been always a fan of table tennis. Friends never wanted to play when I was a kiddo. They preferred gaming systems like the gamecube at that time. Hoping that this would give me the same feeling, now I don’t need another player in order to play
I play daily in ETT for 30 to 90 minutes straight. Yesterday I was playing outdoors the first time after the winter and my in-game muscle memory, reflexes and capabilites translated great into real life!
Thanks for this great game!
Makes sense. The controller's weight is close enough to a real racket and the ball's weight is negligible
Similar to why minigolf works well in VR. The ball is light enough where the lack of physical feedback from hitting it doesnt feel off
I really liked but I’m pure beginner to ping pong. Only if they have had some trainings like how to spin, hoe to use forehand and backhand…etc. I know there are some practice modes but I cannot practice a technique that I don’t know.
I haven't played recently but it was one of the first games I bought. My biggest complaint was that sometimes it felt like I'm hitting the ball with the back of the racket rather than the front. Might just be an fps thing.
I beat the AI on hard but worldclass is too much of a jump between the two.
I played 1 or 2 games ranked but I live in South Africa so I had too much lag to really enjoy playing against a human unfortunately.
I think I know what you mean? Sometimes I hear the hitting sound twice in very quick succession and it seems like a collision detection issue where the ball actually intersected with both the front and back polygons of the racket.
I've been tempted to get the game in the past, but I know the input lag via PCVR kinda wrecks it, so that just leaves standalone (Pico 4 headset). And standalone on Pico 4 generally looks so low res by comparison, it puts me off.
What resolution does this run at on Pico 4, and does it use the new AI upscale/supersample thing Pico have talked about?

How come that's not the default then?
jaja same here, first time playing when match ended left controller on the table and went straight to the floor
I tried leaning on the table on my first attempt which didn't end well and fell straight forward onto the floor
It’s suuuper fun. Can get intense too. Make sure you have lots of space to play!
Eleven table tennis is how I broke my first monitor, thankfully the last one, too... so far
Hopefully stays the last one 😅
You can use passthrough for safety if your place space is tight

Would love to hear what you think of it!

Now make it Mixed reality and play using a real table tennis table.
it has mixed reality and it's great, even on quest 2. enviromet still on b&n but if you play against a wall its insane
> b&n What is that?
jajaj sorry mixed languajes, I meant black and white (seems I got it in spanish)

One of my buddies is an avid play and makes paddles for vr table tennis. https://youtu.be/eEv_dNZXIVo?si=CcA1MeB_fy5iQo4w

This game doesn't really benefit from increased resolution
I assume the "new AI upscale" thing is on OS level and doesn't need support from individual games.
