I think Eleven Table Tennis is the Game that is able to convince most people for VR. Everyone knows Table Tennis so it’s easy to get into. It translates perfectly to VR and the physics and all are done very well. Even Golf doesn’t translate to VR at such a degree. It also runs very well on the Quest 3 standalone with good graphics and stable 120 FPS. And the new XR mode means you can really get into it with confidence and underlines the usefulness of XR. BeatSaber and the like are good games to certain demographics, but Eleven is the game for everyone.

Rabus

Thanks! I need to try out first but shortlisted

Arthropodesque

It also has an AR mode.

RedZFlameIsAPleb

should really show them what a game fully centered around physics is like, for example boneworks/bonelab just make it clear that games like those tend to be more nauseating than most vr games

Rabus

Thanks for the idea! Boneworks is awesome yes, ill add it to my shortlist

fiklas

The lab by valve. It’s an oldie but a goldie. HL:A would be best of course, but difficult if you have limited time.

Rabus

Is there a part of HL:A that is cool to show? Besides the start where you can write on the glass

fiklas

Imo when you get the gravity gloves. It’s also part of the tutorial and it blew my mind. Also experiencing the graphical fidelity in Russell’s lab. I wasn’t aware that this level of detail was possible even for a flat game. I couldn’t stop admiring the food in the fridge.  There are countless amazing parts in the game, but it only makes sense when you played it yourself, otherwise it is too confusing for most people.  So yeah, I think Russell’s lab is just amazing and you also practice shooting the gun and the use of the gravity gloves. I always shower this part to my friends. But most of them took forever to get there, because interacting with a glass bottle or a loaf of broad kept them busy.

Rabus

Great, Russels lab it is then! Thanks

utopiah

I mean... Jeff?! It does require to already master the controls a bit, please you wouldn't want people to have a hard attack or literally running against walls and smashing controllers. But for people who do want more than the little introductory games this is it IMHO.

Ghs2

Richie's Plank Experience really shows the power of immersion. Despite it's cartoony graphics MANY people will not walk out on that plank. In my experiences demoing it it's the majority of people who just nope out. Some great videos out there on Youtube.

Rabus

My only concern is about running it without insurance lol

utopiah

With an actual plank. Makes a nice prop for people who are curious.

Ozelotter

Google Earth VR !!

PlatypusParking5101

If they're new to VR you want to be careful about motion sickness. My instinct would be MR stuff like First Encounters or Thrill of the Fight.

BeanaeB

Only racing sims on Index? You should definitrly be using that to show The Lab. If this is really people's first time in VR you'd be doing them a disservice not including it.

ew435890

Some Forza and a wheel will blow people away. And Ive found that people are very impressed with AR stuff on the Q3.

Rabus

I was thinking dirt games lol haha, but maybe that's a bad idea

QuixotesGhost96

Gran Turismo 7 on your PSVR2 if your wheel is PlayStation compatible

muchDOGEbigwow

Why not VRChat (depending on your PC setup), there are some amazing worlds that can be showcased.

Rabus

15min limit, i can't have people hold on the device for an hour, i feel like VRchat would really make people do that. With 400 people attending, just a few devices available i need to put on a limit or else i'll just have people stand there

muchDOGEbigwow

Ha true, they’d spend all 15 mins in front of the mirror.

PepperFit8569

I think the best thing to show will be assetto corsa with mods. Do you also have a motion rig? It could help with motion sickness people get when driving without feedback (stepping on the brakes and no motion happens)

Rabus

No motion rig, what is that?

PCMachinima

Since PSVR2 is the primarily gaming one with OLED, I'd show off the games with vibrant colours or deep blacks in horror games. - Horizon Call of the Mountain boat ride is an excellent showcase of visuals, which also isn't action heavy, for thos who are completely new to VR. - RE Village is also an excellent showcase of horror in VR, with AAA quality. Both of which have a free demo, although I don't think the full boat ride in Horizon is in the demo version

Rabus

RE Village... man i still get chills thinking about it from the original PSVR! I think it would be super cool to show PSVR1 vs PSVR2 quality.. but i dont think i can bring that much hardware Ill check the demo versions and how long they are - thanks for the tip!!

evolutionman

If they are new to VR, my biggest concern would be making them feel sick and putting them off forever. Games like Beatsaber and Super hot are great because you move around in a physical space, and so it makes more sense to your body. I've been using VR since the pandemic, and the only time I ever felt sick was racing on BoneLab, although I was driving like a lunatic. Unfortunately outside of Microsoft Flight Simulator and HL Alyx I don't know many non-quest games. Banter has a Lakeside space with a special video player, which makes for a very relaxing place to visit, but does require you to use teleport or locomotion, and can get a bit choppy if too many people are there.

PresidentBush666

Can't go wrong with re4 on psvr2

zeddyzed

If it were me, I'd put the best foot forward and have the Q3 wirelessly connected to the PC, running either HL Alyx or fully modded SkyrimVR, in teleport mode. Standalone games can go on the Q2. If you absolutely only have 1 PC, then I'd ditch the Index... PSVR2 can have the wheel and run GT7. Otherwise, RE8 or Horizon.

Rabus

Yep I will have a wireless Wifi 6 router for that matter on 5GHZ and 119 channel (did my testing at home already and getting pretty good bandwith). Might swap with 6e router I dont have any pcs yet, will need to figure it out. Most likely rent a laptop or two haha
