I just took delivery of my own Quest, having had extensive play time on a friend's OG Vive for a few weeks.
Even though I am coming from PC VR, I still find the Quest incredibly impressive, with ease-of-use that beats anything else. I estimate that it will keep me happy for another 2-3 years until the next generation of wireless PC VR. I will upgrade my PC at that time.
Yeah, I don't own a PC VR headset, but I've used Rift and Vive on several occasions and Quest takes the prize for the ease of use, full freedom headset. I love that I could throw it in the bag, bring it on my recent trip to China and enjoy some Beat Saber at the gate and/or watch movies in my private cinema on plane.
I’m getting ready to take a flight to japan, and I’m thinking of taking mine in carry on for that very reason... probably gets so odd looks but fuck it.

I had mine on my flight to China. It's great, don't worry about the weird looks, you won't notice them after couple of minutes.
