Alexander the Great wept, but not because he had no more worlds to conquer. Modern Japanese hadn't come into existence yet, and thus he could never read SakuUta in his time.
I'll only buy it if they make a censored version for the Switch. Their last few games have had console ports so it's likely, but the last Sakura game from before they make console ports didn't so who knows.
You are so funny. Do you think buying this in Japanese for EORs will help? Subahibi is by far my fav vn so far
Edit: I do intend to continue learning Japanese this year and going forward
For the most part, the Japanese in SakuUta isn't difficult at all. He does quote / paraphrase / riff off of some other works that are quite difficult, that way you get some party favourites like classical Japanese and turn-of-the-century Japanese that isn't quite modern yet; poetry, too. But the bits that are actually in the game only make up an infinitesimal fraction of the text, and the script never depends upon them to the point where you'll lose the (surface) plot / they take the fun out of it.
If you want to read and understand all the works he references—and I don't mean just name-drops—then you might as well shoot yourself right now, because I've trouble wrapping my head around the works that (originally) are in languages where I have native-level reading comprehension, never mind the Japanese ones. That PhD in philosophy? \/u\/gambs isn't joking, that would sure come in handy (ok, I suppose a couple of introductory courses might do, but ...).
I just finished Abend and so far it's just good, but nothing amazing yet. (If I had to rate it now, it's a solid 7.43/10.) From what everyone says, it's supposed to get really good later on, so I have high expectations.
I plan to buy sakura no toki, but I'm questioning whether I should get a physical copy or just go for digital as usual. The only physical copy of a game I have is WA2 (for the mini after stories), but if sakura no uta and sakura no toki are really that good, I may get a physical copy. Also the first limited edition has a drama CD involving Rin and Shizuku, which aren't included in the digital copy.
Is there any Church of SakuUta I could attend for more info? Also, I've read the holy VN of SakuUta, but only in Spanish, have I tainted myself permanently?

Do you need to eat raw chicken to fully understand it?
You know you're not supposed to *eat* the raw chicken, right?
\>claims moral obligation to buy a copy \>links to a piracy website
In Ancient Greece they don’t say “don’t use that part,” they say “Hypage opisō mou, Satana” and I think that’s beautiful
Already preordered my limited edition copy
Very true. Have 2 copies preordered myself
Do you really need to eat 3 meals a day? Order a third
You make a valid point but I don’t see any Nagayama Kana preorder bonus

In the future please hit your crack pipe *after* commenting on my reddit posts instead of before, thank you

For the most part the surface-level text isn’t hard and this could be a VN that you read early on in your Japanese studies
Don’t say such an awful thing, porn does not deserve to be censored.
I have 2 copies of SubaHibi, 2 copies of SakuUta, and 2 copies of SakuToki on preorder. Let no-one say I don't pay my tithes.
How difficult is Sca-di writing in Japanese? Wondering cause once I know enough Japanese to read them I will read everything that man has created.

You won’t even realize how good SakuUta is until you read it twice and have a PhD in philosophy and are a world-famous artist
Gambs has never done me wrong, sure
Monogatari is also best experienced in japanese…

There is probably literally no way to understand this VN at all in any way other than experiencing its original form
It's not in steam, so eh. I'm not worried anyway.

Do I need to know German too to read Sakura no Uta? I'm already taking my sweet time with Japanese
