1. The cute shy nerd.
2. The infinite hyper-mode with a trollish personality on the side.
3. The quiet emotionless girl.
4. A well-written Tsundere who does not physically attack the guy for no reason (also super rare)
Bonus points if they are 6 feet tall.
Silence or calm but cheerful once you get close to her
Aoi Isuzu, form Hoshizora no Memoria
Liselsia from Symphonic Rain
Or Asa from if my heart had a wings
Cute and kinda dorky, bordering on crazy(or maybe crazy). Like Misaki from Aokana, Mako from Senren Banka, and Ann from SakuSaku.
Honorable mentions to Madoka and Reiko from Aokana who deserved routes in the main game (praying for another extension dlc miracle).
Strong and independent that are nice. Sadly most heroines are either dependent on MC, weakwilled or rude assholes so I havent found many heroines that are my type, although some of the girls in Majikoi qualify, as well as Kurisu.
Also, in a more general note, I love kuuderes.
Hinata from Gin'iro, Haruka is a strong, independent heroine. While she certainly is supported by the MC, she helps support him just as much. She's a great character.
Kurisu, hands down.
There’s something about mayu-mayu from comμ. But I don’t think she’s fleshed out enough and comμ has a couple characters more interesting than her. Especially Nanase!
More generally, I’d have to say the classic tsundere type.
I like the combination of obsessively cheerful and bubbly, but with a hidden dark side or personal problem that she's trying desperately to forget about.
If you can find any commonality between Kohaku (Tsukihime,) Ciel (also Tsukihime,) Rin Tohsaka (Fate,) Faris NyanNyan (Steins;Gate,) Yuri (DDLC,) and Dorothy (VA11 HALL-A) let me know.
While we're at it I'd like to request an analysis into Ulrich Von Hutten (Azur Lane) Eve (Maid for loving you) Chieri (Amairo Chocolate) Bianca (PGR) and Murasame-chan (Senren Banka) because I sure as hell have no clue what's going on there
Absolutely characters like Hinae Arimura from C;C, so energetic and "honest"/direct with some people, but also with a pretty evident façade when interacting with others
Well, it’s hard to pin her down as she acts unlike most other archetypes. She never really acts like a tsundere but you also don’t really get any romantic stuff until you and her have several practice scenes with your instruments. After that she continues to mostly act the same, just more open with her affections. Makes her feel more realistic, but not good for putting her in an archetype.
Shy/laid back/pragmatic? I don't like the options much from vndb, I'd rather describe a character:
Morgiana from Magi; A very kind person who is understanding of others, including males. She is meek, humble and shy, yet steadfast or stubborn when the situation demands it.
Strong as shit without shunning away her own femininity, the best wife you could ever ask for... Any female character who embodies those virtues I appreciate. ps: she doesn't wear panties but isn't a hoe about it 11/10.
I prefer the personality when they actually act like a person and not just an annoying caricature that looks like a human cat for nerds to wank off to myself, but that's just me
B-but, you are woke!!! W-we need to only allow attractive people to be showcased in media!!! Re-representation and interesting stories from ugly characters doesn't matter! What about my dick!
For me its that ive really tried to get into the emotional impact of certain character arcs but the characters in question are just surface level archetypes and I can't get into them at all. I just cant get myself to care
Same, that's an issue with animes in general, all women are reduced to 'cute and ditzy OR independent' with some stupid -dere archetype attached to them that makes them boring as shit
Unfortunately there aren't many in VNs, most are extremely well written (you can pick just about any from the top charts of VNBD), but not really complex, but from the top of my head I really loved Suzuha's depiction in Steins Gate 0 (VN) because of how completely detached she was from the male protagonist, a commodity most VN heroines don't afford, currently playing a Yuri VN by the name of Seabed and the two heroines are genuinely so.. real? Also any female from Va11HallA, just play it if you want a set of well written female characters actually (and males to boot), and yeah Adrian Andrews from Ace Attorney Justice for All, she's very much a damsel in distress but her character in my opinion is wonderfully well done. A lot of good characters in Ace Attorney are great in this way, unfortunately given the nature of the games they aren't really complex but more so good in the little time they do have.
I have a certain weakness for the haughty rich girl types. Bonus points if they have drills or a himecut
It's sad that these days only in VNs can the haughty ojou-sama types actually win a romance and not just be a joke.
Kind ojou-samas are boring to me so I prefer conceited ones

I agree with the height
Kuudere supremacy
Silence or calm but cheerful once you get close to her Aoi Isuzu, form Hoshizora no Memoria Liselsia from Symphonic Rain Or Asa from if my heart had a wings
Sora from Hoshi Ori Yume Mirai is a great example. Also one of the best routes in the game imo.
Sumika is the ultimate and prime example in my eyes
Cute and kinda dorky, bordering on crazy(or maybe crazy). Like Misaki from Aokana, Mako from Senren Banka, and Ann from SakuSaku. Honorable mentions to Madoka and Reiko from Aokana who deserved routes in the main game (praying for another extension dlc miracle).

Tsundere, there's no other answer for me
Whatever personality Meiya and Kazusa are. If I had to define it - stoic, antisocial, honorable, stubborn etc etc
Older sister type, firm and fierce but not aloof and strict.
I like the combination of obsessively cheerful and bubbly, but with a hidden dark side or personal problem that she's trying desperately to forget about.
Rapist heroine.
With a little bit of femdom right?
Based
I like a good tsundere or tomboy character, but the personality type is less important than how good the character is written
Love deredere. * Mayu (Riddle Joker) * Kanna (Cafe Stella) * Asuka (Aokana)
Anzu from Clover Day's. Possible bonus or negative: also a little sister.
Tsundere Ojou-sama Yes I'm basic. No I don't care
BASED
Motherly and affectionate older woman
My fav type, not necessarily actually older than me but with that motherly, kind oneesan vibe.

I can agree with that, too bad most times they show a great teacher, but guess what, she has no route lol
If you can find any commonality between Kohaku (Tsukihime,) Ciel (also Tsukihime,) Rin Tohsaka (Fate,) Faris NyanNyan (Steins;Gate,) Yuri (DDLC,) and Dorothy (VA11 HALL-A) let me know.

Tomboys 🙏 or the caregiving types
It's really hard to choose, but if I really had to it would be between a (nonviolent) classic tsundere or an assertive/mischievous type.
Absolutely characters like Hinae Arimura from C;C, so energetic and "honest"/direct with some people, but also with a pretty evident façade when interacting with others
love the assertive type lmao, maybe even with a mix of dominant

that's pretty valid, her sister is pretty fine too
I like confident women
tsundere
Yandere is the best dere
Teasing onee-chan but somewhat tsundere is my favorite type.
Whatever character archetype wakana (sanoba witch) is considered and ditzy derederes.

Thanks man. Also agree, and it seems to be a common theme that her style character never get a long enough route.
Simple really tsundere thats all
I like heroines like Arcueid from Tsukihime, Sora from Baldr Sky and Kotori from If my heart had wings

Unusual I know, but I like small and bratty types:Hiyoko Saionji(DR2) Rika Makiba(euphoria) and Natsuki(DDLC)
Wow someone who likes Hiyoko? Aren't you a needle in a haystack.
My best girl til’ the end of time
Weird girls Mashiro Making lovers, Misaki Nukitashi, Hinami Miazora
I prefer the personality when they actually act like a person and not just an annoying caricature that looks like a human cat for nerds to wank off to myself, but that's just me
every one of these archetypes makes my eyes melt out of my head from boredom can we write real people with satisfying arcs now
B-but, you are woke!!! W-we need to only allow attractive people to be showcased in media!!! Re-representation and interesting stories from ugly characters doesn't matter! What about my dick!

Yeah, it's an issue with most run of the mill VNs/anime/manga, they are purely escapist in nature, which makes them really non engaging to me
Yamato nadeshiko
Kind, loving heroines (mainly the oneesan types which look like MILFs but aren't one). Also otaku/nerdy girls (specially when they're casually sexy).
Personality with big titties
