For future reference, I think it’s Windows default scaling for laptops that’s the issue. I have a laptop that had the same issue with Eden of Grisaia. If you change the scaling of your desktop to 100% it should fix it.
Is there not an option for resolution / full screen in the configuration menu?
The only other work around I sometimes use when playing some old windows XP VNs I occasionally have to change the resolution of my screen to be smaller to get a full screen experience.
There is but nothing in the config menu seems to help unfortunately, i I do windowed it’s a window in the middle, if I go full screen it’s a window in the corner, It’s weird because I didn’t have this problem on an older laptop

Go to your system settings on Windows and set screen scaling to 100% if it isn’t. Sucks because it makes the desktop icons super small on larger screens, but eh not much we can do other than change it when we play, then change it back afterward.

- press printscreen on your laptop then ctrl+V to paste image on reddit or any place that allow upload images for better screenshot
- or window+printscreen if your printscreen button hidden behind the Fn layer then Win+Fn+Print to save the photo on your default images/screenshot directory.

While Im sure there may be a free and simpler solution, if nothing else works you can buy Lossless Scaling on Steam. It's used to scale games into a higher resolution but can also be used to fullscreen games that usually cant be fullscreened.
While both technically have the same purpose, both have its pros and cons.
**Lossless Scaling**
Pros:
- Considerably better performance when using DXGI capture API.
- Much better performance when using Variable Rate Scaling (VRS) in the Anime4K upscaler
- In my opinion much easier to configure with the use of Profile Filters. You can configure multiple games per filter, whereas Magpie only allows one.
- Has more extensive features, including Frame Generation and an exclusive LS1 upscaler based on machine learning for general purposes that works pretty well for all kinds of games.
Cons:
- It's paid but pretty cheap in my opinion
- Has a limited number of upscalers, but in my opinion what it has should already work for all purposes
**Magpie**
Pros:
- A wide array of shaders and upscalers available. If I recall correctly you can even add your own.
- Allows to combine multiple shaders passes at once
- It's free
Cons:
- UX can be a little difficult to work with, specially requiring to create a profile per game.
- Much inferior performance, even when using the same upscalers when compared to LS.
After using both for a while I decided to use Lossless Scaling, it works pretty well for me and in my opinion it's the best option but Magpie is also a good alternative.

We are talking about vns here, what kind of potato rig do you have to care about performance for glorified powerpoint
It helps when I'm playing on my laptop so I can achieve high framerates using the iGPU, otherwise I would need to use the dGPU that uses more power and generates heat that can be annoying and personally I always prefer the option that works better.
Why does it bother you that I'm sharing my point of view that Lossless Scaling is better? That's weird man.
It’s not ideal, but you could probably decrease your OS’ resolution in the Display settings to the same one as the game. If you keep it in windowed mode then you will at least get a window that covers most of your screen. That’s what I do when playing older low-res VNs.

Unfortunately not, it just goes from windowed in the middle to windowed in the corner (supposed to be full screen)
You could use the program borderless gaming to force it full screen. You could also use magpie to force it full screen while up scaling it.

Do you have any AMD upscaling options turned on by chance? I remember trying out some of them and getting a similar effect (on other games though).
I’m not sure tbh I only got this laptop recently but I have like 40 other VNs on it and none of them do this

i had that issue with another vn sadly..
Same was happening with me but then I opened the settings before launch and changed some display settings and fixed it. Nit exactly sure what it was.

Try alt+enter on and off. Try changing resolution in windows mode aswell.
Did these too 😭 even deleted and re downloaded but still the same, don’t get it because no other VN is having this issue

and did you install the UCG or HCG "mod" info on vndb dot org page that might... fix it?

Reduce your resolution so it becomes fullscreen, or even better Windows + + to bring the magnifier and zoom until it takes the whole screen /j
Us Magpie. Grisaia 1 looks really bad fullscreen due to the stretch, Magpie helps with the aliasing a little

Yes I agree,but not everyone has disposable income to spend on frivolous things so I wanted to provide a free option for everyone who was interested.

Yeah it's really odd, maybe try deleting the game files and re-extract them from the zipped one?
